Peter's Plateau

Always following company policy
you set a good example and it showed
qualified at your level of incompetence
while rather than carry the can
you continued to kick it down the road
and I'll be the first to say I'm last in line
on the lower echelon boot-licking list
but please trust and do keep in mind
by me the cheeks of your behind
are not about to be bussed or kissed
I know at work I am junior-most man
on the promotion ladder totem pole
but on the whole you've surrounded yourself
with employees who are quite inferior
and tho' overall you may be the boss
no you are not my superior

Every dollar that I spend
Is one less for you in the end
Think about that concept friend
It's not that hard to comprehend

Premium Memberwaking through lower realms

the truth is inconvenient
as also unapologetic
but when voiced
is resisted

conflict looms
not of our making
we view as unfortunate
the decline of righteousness

although outcomes matter not
we stand for what is honest
nonchalantly observing
deviousness at play

it is not for us
to educate the other
but we would lessen ourself
if we cowardly look the other way

Premium MemberLower Respiratory Infection

pretty sure I have strep throat
try to doctor myself for a week
miss two days of work
expected to miss one day

kill myself doing double work the next two days
exhausted on the weekend, sleep most of it
the next week coughing and hacking
feels like pneumonia

go to work anyway, determined not to miss any more days
end up going to the doctor on Tuesday after work
She writes me an excuse to stay home three more days
I know my boss is not pleased

crazy for someone who never misses work
to miss five days in two work weeks
I am beyond tired of this lower respiratory infection
which has taken every ounce of my strength

7.Biased Judges are always helpful for criminals.
8.We are number 130 in the world for giving justice but in top seven

for each judge.
9.They are using delay tactics which is very clear to the public
Whenever they need Favours they always buy it through Holiday Policies.
10.Low moral character doesn't suit a judge.

lower back pain
ow! ow! ow!
hurts to sit
hurts to stand
hurts to lie down
It feels like someone kicked me in the kidneys
I remember my dad’s ice packs
He had the same infliction
Thanks Dad

Premium MemberThe Lower Realms

The soul wanderer reached a lower realm
He was offered Siddhis, women and wealth
Love suffused heart, having God at the helm
Saw ego’s serpentine approach in stealth

What avail power, when God search our aim
Why pander to lust, since life ebbs away
Once enlivened by bliss, we’re not the same
Rapture by day and night, that’s here to stay

Ensouling mind-body, love flame steady
Joyous soul entwines with Holy Spirit
Gong of truth within signals we’re ready
To plunge in the void and reach the summit

All’s enabled when desires we let go
Renounce oh hermit, cravings of ego

Premium MemberIn Lower Realms

In lower realms, where darkness reigns
Knowing upon us dawns
Trauma bonding with ego chains
Soul before evil fawns

Yet here too we are free
Sans lust, hate and envy
If we so choose to be

Fear overwhelms
In lower realms

Premium MemberIn Lower Realms

In lower realms, where darkness reigns
Lust and rage dominate
Love’s opaqued by dark feral stains
Souls tremble at hell’s gate

Love with love doesn’t pair
Angels too tread with care
Save The Buddha, none dare

Fear overwhelms
In lower realms

Premium MemberHigher and Lower Mind

We
see fear
approaching.
We do not fight.
We examine fear
knowing it as alien,
viewing it as an insect,
smiling and flicking it away.
All our narrow ego borne urges
are henceforth dealt by us in this manner.

Endowed with both, higher and lower mind,
we use fragmented thought as of need,
while for the most part, resting it.
We are where we choose to be.
Why then, should fear prevail?
We are neither mind,
nor the body.
What we are,
is pure
bliss!

There lived a lady named Grace
She sure had a gorgeous young face
The gents would swoon
And howl at the moon
Setting their lower regions aflame

As the Sun Goes Down Near Alphabet City

He had no teeth and neither did his girlfriend.
We’d sit in his apartment in the dark drinking margaritas and watch Jeopardy.
He’d answer every question correctly and his girlfriend would cackle.
He’d shoot at the mice with a pellet gun as they scurried in the shadows.
He rarely missed.
Their heads would explode and I would feel queasy.
Then he’d turn back to the TV leaving the brains splattered on the floor and wall.
We’d stay up all night talking and drinking.
He’d stand out front of the building in the snow in slippers always laughing.
He was always laughing.
Even after I moved 3,000 miles away I’d call him up to talk over the phone he’d tell outrageous stories always laughing.
Sometimes those people that are hurting the most laugh the hardest.
He had no one in the world.
His girlfriend and myself, we were his family.
I figured when he someday died his body would simply turn into a skeleton in his apartment.
And he’d still be laughing.

Premium MemberYour Lower East Side

How's your lower east side making out
Mine's fine 'cept I creak when out and about
Maybe an old war injury
Too young for the infantry
War ended, was wounded as a Boy Scout
