Severe headaches bleed through me
Isolated in loneliness and desperately
Longing to belong, to truly belong
Hang on whether right or wrong
Own the night by holding on to the light
Understand that you and I are full of delight
Empty no more and elevated to the core
Tranquility pours forth all the more
The end of me is the beginning of you
Envy and pride aren’t good, so be kind and gentle
Do not be dangerously able to be off track and unstable
Sincere with utmost cheerfulness
Hope and endless fearlessness
And endure through these tribulations
Determined to be overflowing with elations
Oblivious to the silhouetted shadows, spreading
Wide and ascending…never-ending regretting
Solace prevails over sorrow now
I saw you there
sitting alone in a corner
while our classmates played.
The look in your eyes—
longing to belong
but fearing to fall.
We were seven then,
in all the chaos,
still finding our places.
You noticed me or not,
I never knew,
but I saw you smile
when you saw the chocolate
I hid in your bag.
Then… one day, your seat was empty.
The next day, and the next.
No one spoke of you—
as if you were never really there.
I grew up
hoping you did the same,
somewhere.
Searching
Searching for a place
Where I belong
Where hope is alive
Where feelings of disappointment fade away to no longer reachable distances
The longing of belonging is in the mirror
Faith flows through the air
The memories and dreams ringing don't stop in my ear
My heart racing whenever you are near
For you remind me of who I once was
Before i lost myself
Longing for love from all the wrong places
Left alone to pick up the pieces of a shattered heart that broke itself
From accepting the unacceptable
The longing to belong was always in the mirror .Time stood still the moment I found myself again.
Finding that hope faith & love from within.
A snowman
Watches from his globe
Eager to please, you
Longing to belong
Fearful of blending
into your background
Waiting
He watches
You come and go
In your great big world
It’s indulgent detail
He’s molded
Patented smile
Comfortably drowning
In an amnion
Of dated luster
Behind a plastic shell
Longing
With a
shake
shake
shake
A magical wonderland
His painted on eyes
Dazzled,
Happy,
Content
Magic abounds
This little fairy tale
Plastic flakes are neon lights
All around
With a rush of calm
The storm settles
You lost interest
He’s alone again
Watching
Waiting
Longing
I am feeling emotions cast down
Hovering about my head
Enveloping me
With the longing to belong
To be with people who have similar vows of
Passion
Someone to talk with in shared ideals
The haunts of unasked questions
Exchange thoughts we are both interested in
At least I have my online poet friends
Stimulating poems that surprise
Yearning to evoke images in words as do
Photographers I know in the cyberworld
Expressive ideas of life lived somewhere
But I do miss the sounds of
Spoken words
That inspire me to greater joy
Someone teaching me new forms endeavored
Of things I do not yet know, I want
Companionship
So central to artistic expression built
In layers of time spent
Of understanding only felt by those
Similar of thoughts circled
A friend a mentor
Arms wrapped about shoulders
Burdens lifted

I host many song birds,
but never enough.
I steal them from neighbors
with lavish tax-relief offers,
free food
and housing
in exchange for their relocation
and entertainment.
I love them all
but especially red cardinals,
him with her.
They hang and fly together.
An integrity couple
more than the robins
and sparrows
and bluejays
and finches I have flinchingly noticed.
I'm not so sure how mourning doves might compare
with red rapturous cardinals,
him flashy patriarchal
and her graceful matriarchal
sharing worms and seeds
with a bilaterally grateful kiss.
Sometimes,
watching them carry on
from tree
to garden sea
to nested night to be,
I feel alone
longing to belong
mutually beloved,
paired
and not so autonomously impaired.
Kissing oneself
and my own past life investments
in mistrust of goodbye
without farewell
is better than no healing kiss at all,
yet falls awesomely short
of cardinal couple celebration kisses.
I wonder why we, of all people I have known,
fly and breathe and beat so far apart.
We who have shared as one strong heart
drawn to therapeutic spells and smells
of hearts and flowers,
and old gay tales,
wherever these death-defying deviant truths might lead
Prepared to follow this good faith,
not once doubting what was best for other's feelings
and warmest thoughts of trust
was best for both in longer runs of curious faith
in someone made for you
as you are made with me
Or are you too much made by me
with over-fertilized integrity
still wondering why we,
of all,
fly our ways as part of two
and many million more who dream as one
cherished belonging memory.
Without belonging
I would have never known
this not belonging feels too much apart.
Elatedly expansive
Longing to belong
Exquisitely
Philanthropic
Harmonious
Animals
Naturally beautiful
Their trunks and tusks
Safari they reign
She was once a spirited soul
Trekking along all alone,
Many she crossed paths with;
Some left an impression on her
Some good some bad;
But no one stayed for long
But one friend or two,
Yet none of those that came and went
That walked away; crawled away
Or were kicked away,
Left without a searing pain in their body,
They felt the suffering of her loss
They would never forget this regret,
One day she found another
Who could not be chained down;
Who felt the ties but fought them;
Until even he fell but only on one knee,
He would walk alongside but not with her,
Because under her strong independence
Laid within a submissive acquiescence,
A heart longing to belong; and there was one
Who had the only key to her beating love,
And as she surrendered herself to him
The collector had finally been collected...
I want to write the perfect poem
I know it's out there somewhere
Searching for home
I want to sing the world's most beautiful song
I know it's out there somewhere
Longing to belong
I want to paint the most beautiful scene
With all of Vincent's beautiful colors
Red, blue, yellow, purple, lavender and green
I want to write the picture perfect ending
I want you to love me
But I shouldn't go on pretending
It's amazing to find yourself
Lost in a maze of emotion
It's curious to be found
Hanging upside-down
Not knowing which way is up
And therefore always falling on your face
It's incredible to see
How something simple
Can grip you passionately
Can clench you like sand
Held in a fist, so it slowly trickles out
Until there's nothing left of it
And it leaves you drained
It's astonishing to comprehend
That some things always were
Some things simply are
And yet others will carry on
This is none of those
It is terminal, fleeting
It lasts as long as I entertain it
Try and grasp the sand
But it slides through my fingers
Leaving emptiness
Loneliness
A longing to belong
It's amazing...
