"Be happy in the moment, that's enough.
Each moment is all we need."
Quote_ Mother Teresa
Be happy in the moment, that's enough;
each one- a gem that nestles in your life.
Some sparkle as they are, no need to buff;
but some will never glow with stress and strife.
Enjoy each one that happens then and there,
as it unfolds- forget just saving it
on video or photos- later share
when in the moment thrills won't recommit.
Each moment is a world unto its own-
a special speck of time that will adhere
and shine in memory like a bright stone;
but never like it did on its premiere.
Be happy in each moment -grasp that shine
that overpowers those that are not fine.

"Be happy in the moment, that's enough.
Each moment is all we need."
Quote_ Mother Teresa
Problem's color dwindles as morning dawns.
Obstacles which seemed unsurmountable
Evaporate as entanglements fade.
Might it be that I left them in God's hands?
For real, I rest in His care and constraint.
Offering each day praise; then thanksgiving
Remains my focus despite the day's stress.
Today as I rise, fresh on this moment...
Offense and maltreatment I can pardon.
Deliberate actions rejected, gone.
A word from the Lord brings understanding -
You are forgiven, the operative words.

"Dear John," you were wrong, "everything has changed."
"Bad blood" flows like "midnight rain" through your veins.
"The story of us" is thrust into "exile,"
a cheap re-gift "tied together with a smile."
"A picture to burn" and torn "paper rings..."
You know "this is why we can't have nice things."
"All you had to do was stay" faithful, Dear.
Don't tell me you've changed, and "Come back... be here."
"Would've, should've, could've..." I've heard before.
Go explore--- "the other side of the door!"
The story closes with a "back to December" scene,
as "cold as you," "treacherous," and "mean."
There's "snow on the beach." "The lakes" are frozen.
"Two beautiful ghosts..." (A cold chill blows in.)
"Tears on my guitar" strummed "a letter."
"My tears ricochet" as your face gets wetter.
"Dear Reader," I've forgotten your name...
("as if we were strangers.") Oh, what a shame.

Everything in quotes is a Taylor Swift song title.
I know so little of this theory, so
I go to Wikipedia. No help!
I'm reading how it stems from Marxism, and
the struggle of the classes throughout time.
So next I search for tenents of this theory.
In doing so, I'm finding things like this:
how White Supremacy will always reign,
so students need to learn of "action" civics
instead of civics taught traditionally.
I look up "active civics" and find words
like "civil protest" (also "violence").
I find opposing views of it which state
that in the schools today they're teaching hate!
I see some parents now sometimes on Facebook
dismayed that basic civics is ignored.
Our processes called constitutional
are being put behind this "action civics."
I think about the violence I've been seeing
and of old monuments that are torn down;
police, so sorely needed, now defunded;
the silliness getting rid of slogans
deemed racial slurs; the censorship of books
like certain ones by author Dr. Seuss!
I know the process of the Constitution
has not been too great; rights were slowly won.
The problem -as I see it - was the fact
of individual prejudices.
Eventually, after freedom's decades
(the fight for Civil Rights 50's through 60's)
and since our culture then became accepting
of gays, we saw laws made to turn the tide!
I think I must agree with parents who
have great concern about curriculum.
I know discrimination still exists,
but we have seen great strides since Rosa Parks.
I do not like where I can see us heading.
I'm reading quotes of blacks who feel the same.
Today are many interracial couples.
In thirty years from now, we'll all be brown!!
Let cultural awareness take the helm.
Teach love -not hate - and leave our kids alone.

How is it possible, to be "awful" and "amazing" at the same time?
Please don't find me "annoying" as I ponder your "grim" and "gruesome".
There is something quite "delightful" about seeing you so "frightened"!
It is "fortunate" that we crossed paths, "finding" you is most certainly a sign.
For you I have erected a "monolith" here under the blue moon.
At its very centre I will look upon your pure white "oval" face.
I will know pleasure as I gaze into your stunning "opaque" eyes.
It is so very wonderful to see how you are "opening" up to me!
I will not "patronize" you for you will be the "pride" of my garden.
This is merely a simple "prelude" to our very precious time together.
I know removing your face will seem "vicious", but know l will be gentle.
If I'm kind you won't be "vindictive"! Instead you'll love me and I'll be "Victorious"!
For Shadow's "Make a Poem *2Contest."
I used quotes for the words because my iPad doesn't allow me to bold words on Poetry Soup.
I wrote this piece from a serial killers perspective, I guess I've watched to many episodes of "Criminal Minds".
"Can you feel the soul of an abandoned house;
can you hear the whispering?"
Quote by _Constance La France
I hear the whispers from those chimes
still swinging on the splintered porch;
where windows, once in happy times,
shone brightly neath the lantern's torch.
Abandoned now, the old house moans
as wind chimes strike with sadness too.
I feel the heartbreak in the tones
that echo loss of what it knew.
The gloom and emptiness impart
that signs of living are now gone;
the gatherings within its heart
now missed where coziness was drawn.
The wind chimes whisper in the breeze;
lament the loss of happy days.
As sadness murmurs through the trees-
forlorn, bereft- the house decays.

Quote Chosen: No. 3
It’s midnight on June 24th. We’re returning from a “Hot Wax” concert - they were wretched. We’re heading back to Paris tomorrow, so we decided to just stop at the (Kube Hotel) lounge for nightcaps.
Everyone was stirred-up and tight as a violin string when we heard that the “Extreme Court” threw out “Roe vs Wade’s” constitutional guarantees - the latest signal of Americas ascendant entropy.
Following that, was a ruling that threw out New York’s gun restrictions. “Republicans wear compassion like a costume.” Anna pronounces, “what “right to life” *IS* there, if every nutcase can walk around with a machine-gun. Haven’t they been watching the news?”
Leong, who’s always willing to discuss the superiority of the communist system, susurrates, to no one in particular, “Abortions are legal in China and unless you have a hunting license - guns are illegal.”
“Maybe we should move there,” Lisa says, ingenuously, holding up her drink toastingly, her face tinted a gleaming, bourbon gold in reflected light.
Returning to our suite, 3 hours later, Sophy’s adopted a mode of travel involving swerves and leaning heavily on things. Which Leong, who was not doing much better, finds hilarious. “Use your signals!” Leong says after barely dodging one of Sophy’s flailing arms.
“Two loves I have - of comfort and despair.” Sunny quotes, in her richest, Shakespearian voice.
“There’ll be no uncomfortable beds tonight,” I say, searching my bag for my phone, which has the suite key in an attached card-holder. Charles’ room is directly across from ours and I see him shaking his head as both of our doors close.
We’ve adopted a motto, “live to exhaustion,” and I think, to myself, that we’re living up to it, as I flop onto my bed and the world goes dark.
.
slang
wretched = very good
SHE SPEAKS OF HIM
LACKING THE DEVOTION
TO STANDOUT
ABOVE THE CROWD
SHE SAID HIS VOICE
DIDN'T HAVE TO BE LOUDEST
HE JUST HAD TO BE LOUD
PROUD TO STAND BESIDE
AND EVEN PROUDER TO KNOW
HIS WAYS OF LOVING
SHE WAS PROUD TO SHOW
IF YOU GOTTA DISCUSS IT
MAYBE SOMETHING AINT RIGHT
AND WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE THAT
OFTEN THE OTHER TAKES FLIGHT
EXPLAIN AND REEXPLAIN THE
OTHERS POSITION
THE NEED TO UNDERSTAND WHAT'S
GOING ON
AND WHAT GONNA GO DOWN
THEN MIGHT THESE BE WORDS
THAT SOME STRANGER
MIGHT SEE TO SPEAK ON
GIVE THEM JAZZY QUOTES" LIKE-
DROP THE ZERO
FOR THE HERO"
OR " GET WITH WHAT HAPPENING MAN,
THINGS AINT LIKE THAT KNOW MORE"
SPEAK SOFTLY AND BE UNHEARD
THAT'S WHEN SOMEONE ELSE CAN
CHANGE YOUR WORDS
You shouldn’t ‘ve said that, bite your tongue
You said I look old, but you know I’m still young
If ever a wiz a wiz there is ??
I’ll bite my tongue and feel its fizz
You said I look fat, or something like that
and that I’m a tired, bitter ol bat
You know I’m a sweet young dainty thing
I’m the morning glow you find in Spring
You say that I’m just a crabby shrew
Bite your tongue and shame on you!
You know I display no angst or drama
I have the kindly aura of the Dhali Lama
You said I can’t write worth a dam
I never said I could but now and then
get in a slam!
You call me an egotist, a narcissistic freak
You must know my words have been tongue-n-cheek?
You shouldn’t ‘ve said that, bite your tongue
before you shoot hurtful words for fun
My tongue is bigger as you can see
I’ll pull its trigger like a gun then flee
I may be too tall and you an elf
It’s on the tip of my tongue…
All that’s said reflects yourself
In the end, the only thing that counts
If there’s any love in you, any ounce
We’ll bite our tongues and
forgive the fuss, which drains the light
from all of us
It’s written in quotes, psalms and clichés
Never your innate decency betray
Follow your own worthy words
search within and find someway
I don't want to be starting any family wars
but hands up if you love your in-laws (long pause)
Be warned, yours could be around for 60 years
and be ten times worse than your worst fears
So I hope Groom you took care with selection
of those who'll do constant vivisection
and dissection of your most intimate habits
and who'll want you to get as busy as rabbits
Choosing your in-laws is more important than the bride
so I hope with the following rules you did abide
I'd go and hide if you've broken just one
You'll need a new alias and money to run
There are warning signals not to ignore
like them wanting keys to your back door
or the in-law who's a diabolical snare
offering you hand-me-down underwear
The underwear's been in the family for generations
It's been through trials and constipations
Good family relations will not stand a rejection
so run away now, or risk an infection
And watch out if when you court her
the girl always quotes what they've taught her
She's their daughter and you have no claim –
next they'll insist you take their family name
If your mother-in-law always overcooks
she's trying to destroy your wife's good looks
She doesn't want your hooks on her daughter so fair
so she'll make her unattractive with chocolate éclair
From what the groom's told me there's cause for concern
Every time he sees them they're strangely taciturn
It's when they're taciturn you've got to get away
because it's more important what they don't say
He said her Dad only grunts if he greets him at all
and talking to him is like talking to a brick wall
He's heading for a fall, like a sick matador
It's more serious than the keys to the back-a-door
It's not the folios they push on superannuation
or their career change 'recommendation'
It's not their consternation at his mountains of sin
Cor blimey it's worse, they want to move in!
