When the sad worldly din,
starts to close in-
I notice a dearth of humor,
the lightness of laughter
I seek after,
from the ministry of mirth.
Last Thursday my daughter told me
that week's food bill was $303,
we are a household of five,
we do our best to get by,
instead of a sigh and exasperated moan,
I busted out laughing once off the phone,
whilst watching the backyard squirrel's
acrobatics,
as they ate upside down from the
bird feeders, fantastic!
Global events and the home front too,
could make many of us full of rue.
Try to take some time,
in a jollity hour sublime.
Giggle with family, friends,
not everything has a morose end.
Sometimes our hearts are heavy
on this earth,
and we need more from the ministry of mirth. ~

CHRISTMAS ALLELUIA
By Leon Enriquez
Hope blooms good living
This is the season
Love is our reason
For peace and goodwill
Share the love we feel
Joy in our giving
So right Here and Now
True peace on earth grounds
Where the lost is found
As faith and hope bloom
When our hearts make room
For love to endow
~~~~~~~~~
God blesses our sight
In our space and time
Hear the happy chimes
The wise men of old
The Christ child foretold
The way, truth and light
In our brief life lease
Draw near and see proof
Mystery in truth
Emmanuel right here
Our cause for good cheer
May The Christ bring peace
~~~~~~~~~
Christ’s sojourn on earth
As stars shine most bright
On this holy night
The Word comes to call
Humbly to us all
With tidings of mirth
Christ the Son of Man
What a lovely gift
As grace and light lift
Our dreary days here
To absolve all fear
Make souls understand
~~~~~~~~~
Mystic light we seek
So we look to grace
To help us to trace
To mend broken hearts
To dare to thus start
Our quest for love’s peak
Feel the jolly mood
Glad tidings to all
As Christmas light calls
With message most kind
Peace to all mankind
Each soul can live good
~~~~~~~~~
Christ brings healing touch
Gather with good cheer
With a heart sincere
True love funds your quest
Live the Christmas fest
Spread love more as such
Our fond hearts sing psalms
Once again we hear
Tidings of good cheer
Jingle bells ringing
Sweet Carols singing
Jesus Christ is come
~~~~~~~~~
Love the Lord God then
With all your heart, soul
Body-mind one whole
Then love other men
As you love God, friend
To show you understand
Live fond peace of mind
In your Christmas cheer
Compassion holds dear
Do unto others
Love one another
Be mindful and kind
~~~~~~~~~
Blessings to all men
Glory be to God
Father-Mother Lord
Source of mystery
Who calls us to be
Listen as we can
May light show the way
May peace bring us hope
Love and grace now scope
May faith and truth show
Joy we come to know
To live well each day

Who are the less fortunate?
What are their names?
Are they the crippled,
the blind, the lame?
Is a man in a wheelchair
lesser than I?
His heart may hold treasures
that no one can buy
Does a girl without speech
have nothing to say?
Is a boy without toys
unable to play?
Do eyes without sight
shed any less tears?
Does a man who is rich
get any more years?
Just who are the needy,
downtrodden and poor?
Can we tell by appearance
or something much more?
Is a person's value
measured in zeroes,
or can even beggars
sometimes be heroes?
And just what is richness?
How is it defined?
By bank account numbers
or diamonds mined?
Is poverty simply
the opposite end
of having a home
and money to spend?
I have known people
of very great wealth
yet broken in spirit
and so ill of health
And I have known others
with nothing of worth
yet so full of gladness
and given to mirth
Richness in money
can buy many things
but a heart full of joy
comes without strings
We would do well
with our lives to take stock
though many would find
they're in for a shock
For all of my wealth
am I truly free?
Is it everything
it was cracked up to be?
And then came the thought
which couldn't be clearer
Perhaps one less fortunate
is in my own mirror
Zestful ‘around the globe’ grand adventure
reigned first among my childhood dreams’ feature
either as ambassadress of good will
or a tourist bearing world-class stature.
Sizzling with vibrancy midst learning zeal
I would strive hard toward perfection seal
earning merits in Social Studies class
for various countries’ facts I could reveal.
Adding sweetness to such yearned accolade
was each triumphant achievement parade
like a “Miss United Nations” title
making me bubble with mirth, sans charade----

---Then that desire vanished midst divine air
vanquishing its essence of earthly glare
transforming mind to kingdom perspective
for reaching-out toward heavenly stare ---
Led by the Lord through Holy Spirit’s goal
prayer now is to win for Christ a soul
as His called-out Gospel ambassador*
fulfilling blest entrusted gracious goal.
What more should I long for, but God’s favor?
sharing His love’s gift to all with fervor…
today, I can minister globally
using technology’s offered savor.
*2Corinthians 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

As boy I loved summer for holidays
Notwithstanding its sweltering hot days,
In youth I found it good--
It strips all nearly nude,
Now when I’m old, it matters in no ways.
Today, summer feels like God’s grave mistake,
Perhaps He in heaven had little stake
For hot summer on Earth,
Maybe it was His mirth --
Betwixt two stress-less climes, an Amphibrach!
Nigh undeterred by it, humid and damp,
Summer’s the time to put troubles on ramp
And roll them down to hell,
To deepest of its dale,
Whist haply you hail in a summer camp.
The wise tell me of their view often rolled:
When hot, youth tend to lose morale’s fine gold.
But then, it’s in cold climes
More than at any times
That morale’s lost under warm blanket fold.
Summer solstice nor ever a full moon
That love surrounds O like sound on sand dune,
It is winter solstice
More likely to entice
You leisurely till late night’s reigning noon.

Limerick |14.07.2024| summer
Poet’s note: Summericks: Limericks on summer
Soon after the sky had shed her liquid sorrow
When dark clouds quickly vanished
It turned immaculate, spotlessly blue.
As the cosmic hiss subsided
And the wind withdrew to its unknown hideout,
There was a hush- the hush that follows,
As the priest concludes his spirited sermon.
In that quiet, when dream and life coalesced
I saw the leaves trembling in the cold
Dragonflies performing a ballet in the air
Their wings catching glints of sunlight
Spiders moving round crystal studded webs,
Repairing the broken filaments of their gossamer
And birds from trees taking off into the sky
Enjoying a pervasive sense of peace
And my heart soaked in pure mirth
Humming the lyrics of a half forgotten song
I walked down through cobbled paths
Feeling the wetness beneath my feet,
To savor the beauty of Nature,
Newly bathed in the profuse vernal shower.
Suddenly the light blazoned,
Giving a golden glow to the leaves
And the suspended rain drops,
Glittered like sparkling gems.
Mesmerized by the beauty of the scene
There wobbled shiny silver droplets of joy
In my eyes too, struggling to be spilled out!

Forevermore, I am your lover, Orfeo…..
My arms wrapped softly about your kness
As you strummed your guitar, Orfeo,
Your love songs, floating in a Brazilian breeze.
Our life and love, was never meant to last.
Yet while we are young and filled with mirth,
Knowing we are doomed by tales from the past.
Let us samba, making love while still on earth.
We shall wake from our silken, sleep my love
Watching a glorious sunrise in Rio.
Your hand warn in mine, like an Angel from above,
Te adoro, mi Amore, Orfeo, mio!
Poem Inspired by the movie, “Black Orpheus”
Based on Greek myholgy…
Regarding Orpheus and Eurydice.**in the movie
version, she calls him,”Orfeo.”

The magic lantern, like Plato's cave
Should comfort us from here to grave
Illusions tempt but serve to save
Us all from small tedium
The little deaths that make up life
'tween buoyancy and mindless strife
Let balance there be our midwife
And rescue lies aborning
Breathe deeply in, the chance of mirth
At ev'ry chance from here to birth
The only measure of life's worth
Is pleasure gained from honest laughter dawning
For life's a heavy weight to bear
And we should not the mantle wear
Like it's a cloak of camel's hair
Thru the desert of life's making
When oasis waits upon the verge
If we but let our senses merge
Resisting mightily the urge
To wallow there in grieving
When courage is what takes the day
While life's embattled forces play
The lightness out in bitter fray
Shall not the victor be upon death's requiem
Soon we shall be no more,
Comes the time when we take leave of this earth,
Glancing back like life’s jilted paramour,
With naught but our baggage of sorrow and mirth.
All our passions by eternity ignored,
Unforgettable moments forgotten by time,
No hate, no love to shake us to the core,
Lost to the stars, all that for which we pine.
Ten years on, none but a few will remember,
Ours among the countless lives that have passed,
Fifty years hence, not a memory will linger,
Of the journey ‘tween our first breath and our last.
How little it matters, what we do under time’s rule,
Defeats, failures, heartbreaks, all will matter not,
Only the hand that's stayed by fear, earns our rue,
Our blushes saved, our dreams condemned to rot.
Soon we shall be no more,
We are, by time soon forgotten, by time set free,
To dance naked on this transient shore,
And defy oblivion’s curse, deaf to caution’s plea.
END TIMES : TWO
End time dramas continue
to unfold as foretold
tribes of Judah and
Gad united in ether
descending conspiring
to pull Matrix strings
across rooms boom
death Will hidden
documents forged
a trigger activates
illicit action
Centre remains perfection
resurrection
Claim no marriage for
money honeyed
both are paper thin
dust speckled dragonflies
glide into geraniums cry
Truth mourns
hen-chicken ferns
hush murky tears
car ignition fear
burns
Pain has nowhere to
pulse but deep within
stealth sidles sleep
jealousies bleep
forever laced in viral
lanced cellular haste
Antares and Arcturus
watch spiritual warriors
discuss hush actions
gush
Clothed in black head
to toe racing an Audi
making it glow, split
second disappearance
Light sees ass twitch
seeking protection from
words rained in past
reflections
Outgrown forms collapse
to usher in cycles of
initiatory synapse
What is this past anyway ?
Another man’s download
in a desert of dialectic
redemption fast
These end times hold
keys to Uruz strength
so wrenching deep
mouldy ceilings weep
glass teapot aches
growth changes rune
stone answers fake
Passages of Dark part
once again decay
death fertilization
gestation rebirth
this is progression
as mirth
Then Melchedzidek spoke
in cloak to Sham’s Forty
Rules of Love inked across
my marked forehead
mint plant pegged
ancient fern atop torn
garden statue stern
Who will take the
Leap of Faith leaving
to proclaim missions
without a fission
Spiritual warriors know
their inner laws when
writ in cursive upon
open doors
they care not when
orders to leave
fly thick and fast
not cheap
Miners died in vain cold
digging for gold sold to
adorn Draco throats torn
glistening gloat
forms dying disguised
as boss lost tossed
we know no collapse
will not be flossed
our timing spot
on glossed
We live life potent
respected radical
transition
seize a moment
seen the vision !
