Living Room Poems - Poems about Living Room

Zenith University

Zenith University

I am a proud graduate
of Zenith University,
where the quality stays on
until the little dot
shrinks and goes away.

I attended that fine institution
with Tom and Jerry,
Heckl, Jeckl, Mickey, Minnie,
Da?y, Donald, Daisy,
Huey, Dewey, Louie,
Speedy, Wile E., Gumby, Pokey,
Yogi, Boo Boo, Dino, Chucko,
Hobo Kelley, Lassie, Bozo,
Betty, Barney, Bam Bam Rubble,
Wilma, Pebbles, Fred,
Casper, Felix, Sheri? John,
Gentle Ben, and Mr. Ed.

Astro, Elroy,
Judy, George, and Jane--
Eddie Haskell, Wally Cleaver,
Mom and Dad and Little Beaver.

Favorite Martian--Flying Nun,
James Arness--smoking gun,
Spanky and Alfalfa,
Larry, Moe, and Curly.

Tests consisted
of posted patterns.
To see those,
you had to get up early
like Jack LaLanne and Buns of Steel,
Captain Kangaroo.

Mid-morning classes included
Monte Hall (quite a deal),
Bob the Barker (not the builder).

Allen Ludden passed the words,
Henson brought a yellow bird.

After dinner,
after sunset
we did our homework
with Maxwell Smart and 99,
Gomez and Morticia,
Uncle Fester, Lerch,
and Flipper.

We saw The Rifleman get Branded.
We saw The Fugitive get framed.
We saw The Guppy blown off-course.
We saw Gilligan get blamed.

Hogan’s Heroes, Lost in Space,
Dr. Casey, Marcus Welby,
Adam 12, Ponch and John.
Cecil and his buddy, Beanie,

Living Room

My mom is setting the table.

Fork in hand, spoon in hand, plate in hand.

Everything on hand.

I fidget with a napkin.

I told her about a dream I had.

She didn’t think it was funny either.

I dreamt that I graduated college.

My name was called on stage,

It was ethereal.

Silverware clanging gently.

Getting ready for the guests.

I would put a

November light and colors stream in
through the window
and I notice it, like in the eye of a storm,
a whirlwind that has included pain and creativity
but always distraction –
of strivings and graspings at
accumulation and accomplishment.
And in a moment – of sun, sound and color –
it all settles to be just this;

Everyone, everywhere burning

Premium MemberLilys Living Room Make Over

Lilly was dissatisfied with her beautiful living room.
She added embroidered pillows.
Two or three were lovely, sixteen was overkill, but we kept silent.
Another friend got a plaid couch.
Lilly threw out her new couch and got a plaid couch.
It looked weird with all of those pillows, but we kept our counsel.

Marge tried to tell her that the

Premium MemberWallpapering the Living Room

Wallpapering the living room is a job for many
So, we invited our relatives over, in all there were twenty
They got glue all over the carpet, it was an enormous mess
We got six or seven wallpaper strips up, more or less.

The next time we do this, we have to limit the brothers
Said the wives, mothers, and

Across the Living Room Still Sits His Legacy Chair

Across the living room

Quietly sits a chair

In glum despair

With no one sitting in it anymore

It's cushion barely bruised nor used

Since it once patron has past on

And one can only hope he is as
comfortable now

As he was whence here sat upon
his favorite chair

Because that chair was in effect his
throne and so made

Video Games and Hallucinations

After grueling sessions of

Guitar Hero 3,

I would often look to the mirror

to my right

and marvel at how

my vision was affected by the game,

with the mirror becoming twisted

and augmented,

slithering across the wall in my living room.

Christmas Living-Room

The Christmas tree stood tall and beautiful,
Decorated with ornaments of all shapes and sizes.

A fireplace where the stockings are hung with care,
Green and gold filled with Christmas goodies.

A comfortable chair to sit in and relax,
Decorated with a green and gold cushion.

The fireplace to keep everyone warm,
Blessed with warmth at Christmas.

The tall Santa beside the tree,
The

Premium MemberIf Daisies Grew In My Living Room

If daisies grew in my living room
My life would be complete.
I would be a Pollyanna girl
Filled with sheer joy
Delighting at rainbows
prisms make on a wall
Quoting Bible verses
about gladness and hope
Spreading love and light
Where ever I went
Delighting people
Until I fell out of a tree
And broke my leg
If daisies grew in my living room.

Premium MemberPterodactyls In My Living Room

Pterodactyls in my living room?
or ordinary cranes? I love their colorful language
Some might not see them
But luckily I do
Surely the non-seers can hear them though.
The squawking continues
getting louder every second
I am okay with that and others do not seem to hear anyway
Having dog ears is a gift of the few

Lorne Park Christmas

Lorne Park Christmas at our parents and grandparents beautiful house,
The beautiful floor to ceiling Christmas Tree.

Decorated with our favorite decorations and Christmas lights.
The tree stood on grandma's beautiful carved linen chest in front of the lving-room window.

Father would decorate the large windows with Christmas lights,
At Christmas time we would drive through the exclusive neighborhood and

The Beautiful Christmas Tree

The beautiful Christmas tree stood in the living-room,
Decorated with twinkling lights of white.

The beautiful Christmas tree stood in the living-room,
With red and green, purple and golden balls.

The beautiful Christmas tree stood in the living-room,
There were golden stars on the tree that shone brightly.

The beautiful Christmas tree stood in the the living-room,

Premium MemberLost the Remote In the Living Room

I lost the remote in the living room.
On Saturday.
My husband and I ran around looking and looking.
At first it was just the couch pillows, we were looking through.
An hour into it we had made what looks like a bon fire,
Tipping over couches, recliners, and such.
We broke a couple of tables.
Hey, wait, my husband reminded me.

A Living Room Incomplete

A Living Room; Incomplete

Like a dark brown leather couch
          Always there
at the end of a very long day
So comforting, just to see you
So welcoming, I despair

As I finally cross the threshold
to a face, I wish were home
My focus, drawn to brown eyes
In essence, we’re alone
Such depth,

Living Room

I live atop a foothill to mountains of the Cascade Range
and people here keep to themselves whether on busses or on trains;
from my back porch are lights a big city can be seen;
and the blissful aroma of Tacoma remains endlessly lingering.

Strange men and women drive so many different cars, backed up on I-5;
quiet shameful waste
