In the Realm of Silver Linings
I am poor;

each dark cloud ignores
the bright light

that breaks a long dark night
of sorrow

for the time
of childish imaginings

and the world that waits
beyond the shadows.

In The Realm of Silver Linings,
you never will find rust,
and never will you ever
see things turn to dust.

Bees may sting, but in this realm,
a bee’s sting does not hurt.
The sweetest honey flows instead.
Baklava will be dessert.

In the Realm of Silver Linings,
should you break a bone,
by nightfall you are healed.
No one has been heard to groan.

Illness rarely finds you there.
Even if it should -
recovery comes as easily
as simply knocking wood.

In the Realm of Silver Linings
lemons don’t need to be sour,
and needful rainfall only comes
lightly like a shower.

You may think such a place
as this cannot exist,
but those with faithful hearts
by good luck there are kissed.

In the Realm of Silver Linings
live those who learned to cope
with trials previously given
but who all the while kept their hope!

In the Realm of Silver Linings

A queen sits
On her throne of platitudes and proverbs
In the Realm of Silver Linings
Which she rules,
Alone.
Hiding in her throne room
Her silver silk lined cocoon,
She clutches compliments like jewels
Idioms like ivory
And Pearls of Wisdom like, well, pearls.
Kitchen quotations built her castle
She formulated a wall with words of wrought iron
To keep out bad thoughts and bad people.
Her kingdom is a lonely silent one
If you have nothing good to say, don't speak at all.
Her voice, the sole sound
Echoes through empty castle walls
Her fingers in her ears
Hearing only what she wants to hear.
She sings her solo psalm of positivity
Preaching to the few left still to hear
Those who disagreed all disappeared
Tossed from the Realm of Silver Linings
Ejected to the world of the real.

Every cloud needs
a Silver Lining – though, my
preference leans more toward
gold: as sunlight, clinging to
the inside of a wave, opening
my eyes to deeper transparency

Eyes – what do they really
show us? God thought them
necessary enough – though
I have conjured better visions
when they have failed me –
closing my mind to tragedies
and their lingering ghosts

greater love needing no particular
face nor form –

*Silver Linings Highways*

I have seen so many, I feel like leaping.

In the most opaque moments of my soul,

         A mysterious gem keeps shining!

Always a rose land garden just ahead.

         Even though humanity thinks

         hope is all but dead?

The cotton candy skies are a sunset red.

That warms my soul, I just keep going.

And that mysterious gem in my soul?

         Why, it is forever glowing!

Silver Linings

Through disaster she stops her pining
There may just be a silver lining
Her lifeblood no longer quickly drains
From her old and deep and weary veins
No longer does it hurt to breathe
No smoggy air to make her wheeze
Regaining sight and through the tears
She hadn’t seen the stars for years
Skin once wrinkled begins to heal
And younger she begins to feel
For a while, she thinks, it will be easier
As Mother Nature sits and takes a breather…

Silver Linings

Look for the silver lining in everything you see,
Not all things are as they seem to be.

Abuse lurks behind poverty, frowns, money, and smiles.
Nobody knows the hurt of another’s trials.

When you think your whole world has fallen apart,
You are not alone with your broken heart.

There is the silver lining, look out and see your future
If abuse teaches anything, it is about human nature

No longer, be defined by hateful words of any woman or man
Let abuse teach you strength, and that you won’t be over 'ran.'

An abuser wants you to believe; you are nothing but a broken mess
Instead, decide about your very own happiness

It won’t be easy, but enough courage you will find
To take a stand for your future, and leave the abuser behind

If someone is assaulting your self-esteem
If they think they are funny when they are mean

Not another five minutes should you stay!
It just doesn’t have to be that way

Do not allow cruelty at your own expense,
A silver lining of loving yourself is your greatest defense.

Premium Member'rainbows and Silver Linings'

There were times
when she only believed in rainbows
All the different colors held so much promise
In one instant all that changed
She was confronted by the cold reality
That not everything consist of rainbows and silver linings

In real terms life has its best and its worst moments
She just had to decide on which ones she was going to focus on more

Torn Linings

Bellows of Ecstasy
makest them envoy
wondering why those who hear words are in opposition
than, and there beyond
the frays: edges of people who
wish to hem the lining
that there coat's are torn
seen only by the wearers eye's
fabrics of those who wish to
love like I love

Silver Linings

I have walked through fire
Lived in darkness
Felt a lifetime of pain
Yet I still breathe

Hope, it carries me
Love, it releases me
Time, it heals me
Life, it gives new breath in me

I've taken the breath of colds brisk air
Felt the heat of hells death stare
Yet still I breathe
To the tune of my souls immortality

You can't beat me
You can't hurt me
You can't disarm the desires that move me

You can't destroy me
You can't consume me
Nor persecute away the fires of love that motivate me

I am me
Yet still
In all the darkness of the vast array of valleys I've seen
In light
In love
My soul will always breathe

Even better than that though
Is the beauty I choose to see
Truly the silver lining
Of the world in pain
Standing right before me

Concealing Silver Linings

Concealing Silver Linings

Peaceful Painter:

With paintbrush in hand she leaned forward to paint the moon black
Exposing cold shoulders to an outcome abstract

To her dismay the light around the edges could not be concealed
For a light in the darkness cannot NOT be revealed

Darkness is as consuming as a hand that is sleight
Yet we can go blind by staring into the light

Chaos Ensues:

Running from the chaos that was happening in town
She kept tripping on the lies that were laying around
Landing on hypocrisies blanketing the ground
Surrounded by demons holding her down

Weather perpetually pushed or reluctantly hurled
She ran right off the edge of the world

Silver Linings

"i want to fall out of this cloud, mars."
she looked at him with sincere eyes, running her fingers through his golden locks.
he lifted her chin with a single finger and kissed her, and with a warm voice of discipline, told her,
"earth was not made for you. thinking like that won't grant you freedom on earth, it will only bind you to it."
she rolled onto her stomach and stared down onto earth with longing, and bitterness grew inside of her.
she breathed heavily and murmered, "heaven is hell when you don't want to be in it."

Premium MemberDancing On Silver Linings

She tried hard to dance on silver linings
Though she was not a very graceful girl
Those awkward left feet would always trip her
Into the dark clouds she would always fall

Though she was not a very graceful girl
She had a strange grace in the way she moved
Into the dark clouds she would always fall
Yet I never saw her without a smile

She had a strange grace in the way she moved
Those she thought were her friends would laugh at her
Yet I never saw her without a smile
I wondered what was going on in her mind

Those she thought were her friends would laugh at her
If it hurt her she did not let it show
I wondered what was going on in her mind
Perhaps that's why I came to her rescue

If it hurt her she did not let it show
I knew there must be sad beyond the smile
Perhaps that's why I came to her rescue
In that moment she was able to cry

I knew there must be sad beyond the smile
Those awkward left feet would always trip her
In that moment she was able to cry
She tried hard to dance on silver linings
Now with a true friend, she is able to fly
