In the Realm of Silver Linings
A queen sits
On her throne of platitudes and proverbs
In the Realm of Silver Linings
Which she rules,
Alone.
Hiding in her throne room
Her silver silk lined cocoon,
She clutches compliments like jewels
Idioms like ivory
And Pearls of Wisdom like, well, pearls.
Kitchen quotations built her castle
She formulated a wall with words of wrought iron
To keep out bad thoughts and bad people.
Her kingdom is a lonely silent one
If you have nothing good to say, don't speak at all.
Her voice, the sole sound
Echoes through empty castle walls
Her fingers in her ears
Hearing only what she wants to hear.
She sings her solo psalm of positivity
Preaching to the few left still to hear
Those who disagreed all disappeared
Tossed from the Realm of Silver Linings
Ejected to the world of the real.
