Limerick : Once a Salesgirl who sold silk stockings

Once a Salesgirl who sold silk stockings
Eyed a man who fingered the linings
Stockings stuck on her legs
Made-to-fit wooden dregs
Kept stockings but gave him legs on springs.

Joyful
Joy does us entrance,
Fat happy dance,
None escape Earth alive,
Thank God we still thrive,
Thoughts, feelings, emotions,
For our globe and oceans,
Humans do conflicts survive,
Look for silver linings, jive!
Always bright side to stuff,
We can't be joyful enough!...

Torn Linings
Bellows of Ecstasy
makest them envoy
wondering why those who hear words are in opposition
than, and there beyond
the frays: edges of people who
wish to hem the lining
that there coat's are torn
seen only by the wearers eye's
fabrics of those who wish to
love like I love...

Prisoner
on cheese sandwiches without salad
duty bound, honour-encouraged, black sliver linings in my clouds
and then the automatic asked for blessing
falls upon me, and devours, the ever present emotion

the passion o. the passion. blends
in colours dancing, in china shops
and my stepped on toes, respire
exhailing causiing flower...

My Better Half
Author Dana Redricks
April 9, 2018

Thinking of you as time goes by
it's amazing how we met
The first time I met you
I knew you were the one
Even on those rainy days
Silver linings seem to
sparkle to us light
to brighten up the day
You seem to bring out the
best in me
Like a tree is rooted deep
My love for you is rooted
in being with you
You are my better half...

A Wonderful Day
That day the sky was a special shade of blue.
And it did really seem too too good to be true.
It reminded me of all the silver linings of life.
And did give me much relief from all my strife

I was gently reminded of my wonderful world.
And the flag of natural freedom was unfurled.
I rejected every negative like an unwanted toy.
And was left with a gentle mind steeped in joy....

Paean To Autumn
Draw back the curtains at your wake
To welcome in October
And heartily libation take
Lest the old crows find you sober

Invite your fond familiars in
Each cat and rat and magpie
Ignite your jack-o’-lantern grin
And kiss the moon at midnight

Fling far and wide your festive gold
Let no leaf go unvarnished
Stoke hearth and heart against the cold
Lest silver linings tarnish....

There were times when she only believed in rainbows All the different colors held so much promise In one instant all that changed She was confronted by the cold reality That not everything consist of rainbows and silver linings In real terms life has its best and its worst moments She just had to decide on which ones she was going to focus on more

Every cloud needs
a Silver Lining – though, my
preference leans more toward
gold: as sunlight, clinging to
the inside of a wave, opening
my eyes to deeper transparency

Eyes – what do they really
show us? God thought them
necessary enough – though
I have conjured better visions
when they have failed me –
closing my mind to tragedies
and their lingering ghosts

greater love needing no particular
face nor form –...

Pink Rose
Silked and velvet linings, sweet and sweated dew,
of pink lining coating pettals flattery in mist of dew.

Blooming of this rosie blossom, uplifting head in sky,
wondering and drifting- water of mist splatters, she cries.

Alone in the mire, befriended with her stones and pot,
and wind be thrashing- roaring hit her velvet in one shot.

Flattery flower! Flushed of pink desires,
perished, alas, alone in the wetted mire....

It was a sad day, when I had to toss them;
my favorite pair of sports shoes.
Like an old, comfy friend,
we walked and played together;
until the linings were worn clean through, to the leather.
Still, I held onto them; my precious foot cradles.
When the day came to toss them,
cracked soles, leaking rain water onto my feet;
I worked hard to muster up the courage,
to place them in the trash
and my feet mourned their loss....

Silver Linings
Through disaster she stops her pining
There may just be a silver lining
Her lifeblood no longer quickly drains
From her old and deep and weary veins
No longer does it hurt to breathe
No smoggy air to make her wheeze
Regaining sight and through the tears
She hadn’t seen the stars for years
Skin once wrinkled begins to heal
And younger she begins to feel
For a while, she thinks, it will be easier
As Mother Nature sits and takes a breather…...

Whispering to heaven
Tide, gently carry my whispers
Across the grey clouds that glitter
With a silvery silver lining.
Across the saturated linings fighting my flaming words,
Beyond the vultures sailing the skies
To the angels who receive them with smiles.

Gab! harness my words into meaning;
Let them be a symphony amidst the chaos that rings
From the screams of souls locked out of heaven_
From the bottomless pits where heathens
Together with my shame reside.

Apollo
The state of things
It’s a crisis
The shame it brings
It’s a crisis
Isolation
It’s a crisis
Mass hysteria
It’s a crisis
Senseless dying
It’s a crisis
Divided nations
It’s a crisis
Spreading virus
It’s a crisis
But the rivers are flowing
Clear. The trees are growing
Years of filth walking astray
Birds are singing
Voices ringing
Through sacred skies of blue and grey
The blind now see the sun rays shining
The worst of times have silver linings...

I'Ve Seen You
I've helped you out
I've heard you complain
I've seen you be lazy
I've seen you complain
I've seen you be selfish
I've seen you complain
I've seen you laugh
I've seen you complain
I've seen you be a victim
I've seen you complain
I've seen you flake
I've seen you complain
I've seen you take energy
I've seen you complain
I've seen you so a lot
I've seen you more and more complain

Got to take a break
Because you drive me insane
Always Silver linings
Misery steals your concentrate...

On the Subject of Breakfast
I have played thief. I
have gone a-viking, and
I have stolen the encapsulated equivalents of uterine
linings.
(from various species of fowl)
I at this very moment delight in the taste of the
unfertilized gamete, and may I just say that these lifeless
cholesterol bombs go very well with fried tubers and zesty
strips of fatty swine.

life, my siblings.

Life is beautiful, and
the true colors of nature are shades and hues of sanguine blood.

blue/before....

Silver Lining
I believe in happy endings
and in each new beginning
I believe that when life is darkest
it is always before the dawn
I believe that what gets broken
can sometimes be repaired
I believe if you look deep enough
there is good in everyone
I believe that sour lemons
make the sweetest lemonade
I believe if you want something bad enough
that you can make it happen
I believe in the radiant light
that shines at the end of this tunnel
I believe in silver linings
in every single cloud...

A Kind and Gentle Loving Heart
We mainly grow
Through bearing hardship
We tend to learn
By living pain
We're able to
Enjoy the sunshine
From wading through
The pouring rain

Embracing hard times
Help us learn
To trust that good days
Will return

And every cloud
Has silver linings
And every minus has a plus
They'll be good times
They'll be bad
It's the same for all of us

We're given what we need to grow
Enough to almost fall apart
But riding through it helps us know
A kind and gentle loving heart...
