if it's not love
	what has it become

once, we were the ones
who left the others in awe
of our passion, our nearly lethal dose
of lust and complete abandon
now, the linens are barely ruffled
the room smells of soap and softeners
our days are spent in silence
in the worries of the world that
has stolen the souls of lovers
gone before, gone forever
if it's not love
	what has it become

Liberation
by
Kieran Pavlick

You can't dance
in the sunny meadows.
Or smell the
flower's perfume.

If you continue
to reside in the
forest dark
with the flying
monkeys of regret.

Kieran Steer

Kieran is a former pupil of Beath High,
In the region of Fife, a Scottish pride,
He attended a sports day hosted by,
Disability Sport Fife, boccia to be bride.

Born on 21st July 1995, Crossgates,
He works extremely hard each day,
In home exercises, in gym weights,
In hydro and also in physiotherapy.

He went onto a sports programme,
Which was world class: consistency;
To develop his skill and his gram,
So he became in the world high.

In 2013 he won the Euros, Portugal,
And in 2015 he won silver, Surrey;
An HND from Fife College did call,
And he did study Radio for his lay.

Evie Edwards

Evie, born 13th December 1994,
Used to swim competitively,
But she finds little time around,
For business management,
Which she tries to study, sound,
At the University Campus Suffolk,
Because she loves Boccia’s ground,
That’s perfect for her in pairs:
At the Euros she was renowned.

She landed a BC4 pairs silver,
At the 2015 European games,
Such that in Rio fought for a bronze,
But the pair did loose 3-2, no blames,
To Thailand which disappointed,
Both Evie and Kieran Steer with frames.

Kieran Tscherniawsky

Kieran has a lot to do with Stoke Mandeville,
As he has Cerebral Palsy, born in Boston town,
He wants to be a fitness instructor for his till,
And is hooked on throwing discus, his crown.

He was born on the 18th of January in 1992,
And in 2011 in the F33 category of the discus,
He became the junior world champion new,
To qualify him for the London 2012 Para bus.

Sadly he came 10th with 925 points only in total,
But he just cheered on his hero, Dan Greaves,
And then in 2013 he threw a PB at full throttle,
Of 31.51m, in Chester & Manchester leaves.

Due to the meets in Stoke Mandeville’s grounds,
He’s heading for Rio to use that residual muscle,
Which he developed in prior powerlifting sounds,
To beat the rest of the field without much tussle.

Stitch me back together,
whether it hurts me or not.
I still don’t know if I was
Blown up or shot.

The brain plays tricks,
maybe a bullet or
shrapnel from bricks.
I ain’t afraid of dyin’
I’m in a macho clique.

We expect the worst to happen.
Part of that is Rappin’ and
Some of it is Shtick.
You doin’ it with super glue?

How modern of you.
From assembling model airplanes,
To jigsaw puzzles, Dude
Technology took away stitches, so
 I won’t look Frankenstein crude

Saga of the Lonely Cactus: "the Return of the Cactus" Fourth Part

Saga of the Lonely Cactus: “The Return of the Cactus” Part Four

Aunt Mikey searched the Big Apple far and wide,
‘Till she found the Lonely Cactus on the Lower East Side.
“Oh, Cactus, I’m sorry this happened to you,
But I know just what to do.”

“I see you are homesick,
No more, no less.
I’ll pick up my cell and call U.P.S.
They go to the desert on their
Regular route.
They’ll send you to Kieran,
Without a doubt.”

Kieran waited and waited for many awhiles,
‘Till the U.P.S. truck delivered the cactus all smiles.
“Oh, Cactus,” said Kieran with a joyful sob.
“I think what you need is an interesting job.”

“Over the hill and behind the stone hump.
Is a casino being built by Donald Trump.
The Donald told me he would hire a cactus like you,
Who knows how to deal the one and the two.”

“He needs cacti who are smart and cacti who are able,
To deal with the tourists at the blackjack table.
Poker and Keno are also his game.
I’ll miss you,
But it is best you go just the same.”

The Saga of the Lonely Cactus: "a Present From Kieran" Second Part

Saga of the Lonely Cactus

Part 2: A Present from Kieran

by Miriam McCue

A present from Kieran came one day,
To Aunt Mikey in Alphabet City, so far away.
It was a cactus from the desert forlorn,
Complete with a red bow stuck on his thorn.

He arrived with a note which did say,
“I came to keep you company today.
I was restless in the desert.
And did want to roam.
So Kieran sent me to Manhattan,
Far away from home.”

Mikey then stated, “This is really great!
Now I’ll not be alone, early nor late.
I’ll go get the Super to help take you upstairs”
An then she ran up, unawares.

Along came a wino with a shopping cart,
He stole the cactus to pawn it,
At the Greenwich Village Mart.
He stumbled and mumbled,
“First, I think,
I’ll go and find a good stiff drink.

He pulled up the cart and put the cactus inside,
And took the scared plant to the Lower East Side.
It was strange and scary.
It fill the cactus with fear.
He cried, “I’m sorry I left the desert for here!

I want to go back to my home far away,
In fact, I want to leave TODAY !
