I once had a doggy named Maisie
Who acted a little bit crazy
She didn't like fetch
and wouldn't play ketch
I guess that old dog was just lazy
The Ozarks is filled with barefoot hillbillies,
so it says in all them old books.
We are all just lazy, stupid, and silly,
least that’s how they make us look.
Layin’ on a creek bank chewing on a straw,
with a fishing line tied to our toe.
Or stilling some 'shine' while running from the law,
they say that’s all we’ll ever know.
Marrying our sister, our grandpa's our dad,
is a life that suits us just fine.
A dollar's more money than we've ever had,
at least at any one time.
If we get hungry we’ll just ketch a 'possum,
a roadkill skunk or raccoon.
Gotta make sure our twenty kids all get some,
cause twenty-one’s coming soon.
I’ll tell you friends the Ozarks are more than a place,
where friendly people are raised.
So come on down here and I bet that you’ll fall,
in love with our Ozark ways.
Folks who make life out of Vetch,
For their farms heading on ketch,
Their future they sometimes sketch;
None thinks he’s the truest wretch,
For labor does some hope fetch,
Though, Vetch would their choosers stretch…
Now, Hot Debates in the ketch!
“I can with Vetch accounts stretch,
Farther move from being a wretch.”
“But in Gold some their names etch
And Vetch can’t such nice dreams sketch”
“No! Vetch can the Big Name fetch
Quit the wretch that makes one retch”
So, say no more against Vetch…
Machiavellian schemes besmirch a murky mangrove calm
A propeller breaks the tranquil glass over an underwater farm
Neath the broken still, a peaceful giant stirs with alarm
and no consolation is found as noise churns it's quiet charm
The serene spots need to be augmented for they are our balm
Ecosystems need protection from greedy developers’ harm
Empyrean Earth for all, is in our active palms, giving alms…
(5/12/21: Custom ketch; KKMI Richmond)
Soft is her breath, as the full moon begins to rise high.
Warm breezes whisper to the gentle ripples on the bay.
Ocean swells carry the seaweed high upon the tidal surge.
A ketch cruises by with her mizzenmast tightly bound.
heron stands stoic
taking flight into a breeze
scent of lilac wafts

The soft sea breeze blows from the bay
A wispy cool flutters the as the trees have their say
Quietly the music drifts out to the trading ketch
As we await our passengers our boat would fetch
The rowing boat moves and touches our side
As a rope is fastened and securely tied
The lady in her long flowing gown
Is helped aboard with her luggage is bound
The anchor is pulled up and the sails are set
The breeze filling our sheets as the sea is sliced as met
We make our way in the blue waters sparkling through
To Port Adelaide wharf we know what to do.

Wul, I nev'r bin sombuddy and I ain't sombuddy now.
I merry'd purty Lizza 'n her daddy had a cow.
Livin' in the country is whar I wanna be,
Life is gosh darn simple, perty much lak me.
Pap-in-lahw's a sinner, he ain't got no soul.
Preacher says he lost it, goin' on a roll.
Cain't nev'r git it back, so the good book say'd.
Whut good's a fella's soul, if ya lose it with yer haid?
Wul, me 'n purty Lizza play ketch-up ever day,
Tryin' to mek a repluca whilst rollin' in the hay.
Mama say'd the way it werks is hangin' on reel tight,
But hangin' on to Lizza shore keeps me up at night.
But thet's ok I figger, 'cause daylite's jus fer naps,
'Cept ya kno, in Pappy's case, he's to bizzy shootin' craps.
Jus in case yore wonderin' — ain't likely — jus' the same,
You prob'ly never heer'd of me, nev'r kno'd mah name.
'Cause I nev'r bin sombuddy and I ain't sombuddy now.
I merry'd purty Lizza 'n her daddy had a cow.
Livin' in the country is whare I wanna be,
Life is gosh darn simple, perty much lak me.
In 2008 there once was a dog who loved me so
He came into my life but now he is gone
His name is Cheyenne, he was a labrador
And he always sat by the door
He sat by the door to wait for me
When I came home he would jump with glee
But since his departure from my life
Now my life has been stabbed with a knife
So I keep on going long like he fetched
Life has always been a stretch
Since he left there is no one to play ketch
Up with and to pet and play with
He will always be my friend.
Ketch
Keel's deep in water and
Kelp off the bow appears
Kembed as I " keep her luff".
Knighthead to the South, with
Knots at fifteen, on the
King plank I stand...O' this
Ketch is so mighty yar!

Notes: Kemb means to comb
Keeping luff is sailing near the wind(for more speed)
Ketch is a two masted ship/boat
Knots are speed measure
King plank is main/center plank the others are fitted to
Knighthead is (sometimes a carved figurehead) support for the bow
(As best I recall)
Knees quivered, but he stood
Keeping breaths in control.
Kata after kata
Kicked out years of fat and
Ketch up. For this, he'd a
Knack! The cute girl from work
Knocked him out on day two.

A Rainbow Sings
Prismatic rainbow graces sky many ways
with brilliant hues of multicolored rays
picturesque goniochromism sings to decorate
a ketch with Tyrian purple sails out late
Sepia hue tinges this kaleidoscopic scene
monolexemic shades threaten to richly preen
majestic phenomena seen in sky embraces
mists, vanishing clouds and aurorae traces
A Rayleigh Scattering sets rainbow apart
miracle that sends opalescence to impart
this sky mingling multitude of colors now
as red, orange, purple and yellow take bow
Interwoven within this prismatic awe inspiring view
The hopes and dreams of gentle poets like me and you!

From early morning to the evening I be blowing mad L’s
24/h Champaign bottles ant got *****on it
Sitting up agents the wall Johnnin are asses off
Because I’m just a ketch up drinker
While Emmen ****s my mind up
I be walking for days
Yet everything stays the same
Clouded headed yet more enlightened then Daley Lam and his Buddhist gang
Ill see through all the bull *****you be fronting
Like tight dickeys, golden chains, studded earrings and diamond band watches
Don’t take this whiteness for weakness IV got more melatonin in my skin them most Africans
Ill keeps Sargentos 100% real with you
Hope you do the same
Because I don’t have a problem dropping mother ****ers like the *****out my intestines
Ill flush you away
And never think of your name
For names sakes ill for get your name like people for got the real reason Jesus came
