Peggy Hawkins aka Margaret Keane
an artist who lived her dream
Portraits with 'big eyes' her usp
helped her up the 'success' tree

Weak Spots Xxi

Testing each other's faith
At an open window—the air is still,
People seem dead with indifference,
And yet—the world breathes heavier

Hearts thumping in rhythm
To each other,
Hands clasping so tightly,
The view at large is a future we fear

Honor is seen in companionship,
Yet disgust is seen in those
Who live in solitude—choosing
Peace over miserable compromise

We promise to protect our loved ones,
Yet we fail to make promises
To preserve and encourage
Ourselves!

Note:"We are torn apart and yet we are alive...in the New Golden Age..." - Keane, New Golden Age

Weak Spots is taking a little turn. I feel that we romanticize union so much, yet we fail to give honor and acknowledgement to those who carry their lives without companionship. There is beauty and peace in a solitary life. There is deep love and strength in a single life apart from another.

What do you think of this?

Premium Member Meghan's Big Eyes

My friend's daughter
Meghan has big, beautiful eyes
When they stare at you
They almost get inside
Where the little inner me
Can't run and hide

Women love eyes
They can see through you
Remember the old saw
"Eyes are the windows
Of your soul"?
Many still think it's so

Keane painted those eyes
Made a name for herself
Painful story
Big, blue eyes
Meghan's got those eyes
Watch out guys!

What is the value of time
The price of a tick or a tock
Some people say, "Time is money"
Yet they're always watching their clock
A clock shows time is passing or past
Look now and then look later
But clocks have a face with moving hands
And look nothing like a calculator
We know that time has value
Cause it's what we desire the most
Maybe not while we're wasting it
But certainly when death comes close
When trying to accomplish a feat or a task
Are you concerned with the time it takes
Instead of doing it regardless of time
You're thinking about time you could waste
I'll leave you to think on my favorite quote
This one's a little more pleasant
Yesterday is the past, tomorrow's the future
Today's a gift, that's why it's called the PRESENT

Speak

“When we fall in love,
We’re just falling…
In love with ourselves,
We’re Spiraling” ~Keane

Speak, and forever hold me in chaos
For I will sift my way through the toughest stains of your heart
Clipping words in your anger,
You call upon me once again
And with soft words, I reply in disembodiment
So that you may fulfill your frustrating thoughts
And you say to me, almost coldly,
“Please, speak up!”

Shall I hold you in your frustrations,
To give my unnecessary say?
What shall I speak of,
To blow your demons away?

Speak, up or down, my friend
For my love for you goes beyond my hate for me
Stopping my heart from happiness,
You call upon me time and time again
And with brutal words, you listen in pieces
So that I may sink into my absorbing softness again
As I say to you, so gently,
“Please, go on…”

Will you hold me when I weep?
When my mysterious silence disturbs you?
Or will you continue to speak,
As my demons devour me?

Go on......please...

Paused Shadow

There is a split, precious time where it is necessary to stop everything
And just stare into the hearts of the unknown
To really look in
Without a speck of fear to curl your way downwards
In a fetal position I avert my eyes to view the pumping organ
But all I see is space
As dust rises and falls
Into my burning, crying eyes
I need to stop what I’m doing
To shed some light
Because I am casting shadows all around me
Leaving everything I am behind
You need this festive light that you end up always hating in the end
On every floor I will step for you
On every wall my shadow will stand tall
Shedding its darkening light
Stopping everything in time
Lean against it and ignore it
Become it
There is always tomorrow
One little speck can destroy the entire universe
And that is why I must pause
To shed some light
Will you shine in return?
I need the warmth, not the burn!
And we will fearlessly walk into the sun
Lessons learned
Follow the road and you will see my shadow
And then…only then
Can I press the play button

Absence of Meaningless Words

8/17/12

There is nothing to these phrases
But somehow they reach the reader
They touch . . . me
Am I the only one caged in this prison?
Do you ever wish life had a better meaning?
Do you ever wish you can touch his or her heart?
The absence of meaningless words flow
Into my dried up, sorrowful mind
And through it all, these words are written
I can’t seem to express myself in any other way
I wish sometimes . . . I truly wish
That I was not me . . .
What if all of these verses were erased from time?
Where then would my words go?
Where would you be?
Nothing means everything
I think I would scream
Deep inside a part of me would die

There is nothing hidden in this verse
They are merely words,
Hollowly displayed for the visage of mankind
Keane blasting in the background,
Tears falling down by their words
My mind is locked in a trance
As my hand moves across the line
Seething silently for meaning
Maybe the sun is done shining for me
Maybe nobody cares for me,
For these arbitrary words . . .
I think I will stop today
To be reassured

All Over

Oh simple thing, where have you gone?
Yeah, you're long gone now
Won't matter, I'll find you anyway

Was I just a ghost passing through you?
Cuz I don't understand the things you do
I'll meet you on the other side, bitter and hardened heart

Is this what you dreamed of?
Saving me, telling me life is beautiful
As your aching, your breaking

Be my friend and give me your hand
No, nothing goes wrong anymore
Your time has gone and I'm glad it's all over

Red-Rose Dress

She shone so elegant in her red-rose dress,
built of peace and harmony,
blue eyes painted as if by Keane.
Nature stole my red-rose dress;
still, my senses never quetch.
