What am I doing?
I'm waiting to die.
My years are behind me
So, don't ask me why.

When I was young,
It was often said,
You're never too tired;
You can sleep when you're dead.

Now that I'm old
And ready to rest,
I trust in my savior.
My Lord knows me best.

I've journeyed for miles
And the years have flown by.
I leave a life well-lived
So, there's no reason to cry.

I'll stand before God
When he calls me home.
Pleased to wrap up
My life with a poem.

With A Gentle Hand - Mystic

With a gentle hand, He held mine,
Guiding me through the night,
Assuring me that I would find the light,
A perpetual light that pierces through burgeoning darkness.

We journeyed through the meadow,
With a gentle hand, He held mine,
Dispersing the gnawing shadows,
Telling me to awaken the dying hope.

We sojourned across the sea,
The intermittent turbulence frightened me.
With a gentle hand, He held mine,
Calming my fearful heart,
Telling me to see beyond the tempest.

We journeyed through the forest,
I was distraught;
There was no place to lay my head.
With a gentle hand, He held mine,
Telling me to learn resilience from the trees,
Admonishing me to seek knowledge from their silence.

We travelled across the desert,
I was parched and worn out,
Blazed by the sun.
With a gentle hand, He held mine,
Telling me that the sun would soon retreat to its chamber,
And the moon would open the door to mysteries that herald a new beginning.

The Silent Kiss

The silent kiss of the night opens a door to another world.
Hidden things emerge from their chambers,
Mysteries are unveiled in the stillness,
There's a fellowship that comes from the deep.

Drumbeats awaken the unseen,
bringing forth what lies in the depths of the unknown.
They are seen by the night watchers,
encountered by those who have emerged from slumber.

Under the moonlight, a new world unfolds.
Mystery finds its time and place,
as a door opens for the nocturnal creatures.
There is a deluge for those seeking creativity.

The silent kiss of the night heralds a whisper,
summoning the journeyed,
awakening the feeble,
and recovering the lost.

Alone in the Deep

They walked with me across the bridge,
Holding onto the sides to keep it steady.
I took careful steps,
But they assured me that it was firm.
I walked across unhurt.

They accompanied me through the meadow,
Where I was afraid of the taunting shadows.
They promised to brighten their lamps,
And the light dispersed the shadows,
Leaving us no longer trailed by the night.

They journeyed with me through the mire,
Though I feared the depth beneath us.
They held my hands and lifted me,
And as I looked to my right and left,
They smiled at me,
So I navigated through the muck but didn’t sink.

They travelled with me across the sea,
They carried me on their shoulders.
When we reached the middle of the sea,
Suddenly, they disappeared.
I fell, plunging into the depths,
Struggling to rise to the surface.
As I sank, I saw an approaching hand,
And I remain within this vision.

Premium MemberThe Thrill Of A Late Summer

visions of children shrieking on clogged shores,
warm swirling gusts topple gaunt sand castles,
games galore thrive in weather dry and bright,
family fun fair gasp and sheer delight,
yet summer’s warm hue festoon tapers off,
whilst journeyed beehive swarm near blue lagoon,
dip their toes in sunny moss fleck torrents,
others seize their madcap visceral thrill,
from dashing down mint green meadows as that,
August time frame segues into autumn

“I have journeyed within myself,
Scanned rumblings of the inner self
Lent my ears to the inner chime
Within grasp of the sands of time.” By author.

The Journey Within

The journey within, for diverse souls,
Begins at diverse stages of life,
For some since early days of childhood,
        Goaded by parental mentoring,
For others during the course of life
Driven by coincidence or a quirk of fate.

For some it`s an insightful journey
        Shining with light of enlightenment,
A straight-line excursion to top of a mount,
For others a nebulous trip shrouded with haze,
Veiled with dark doubt and deadly dread,
A sporadic trek ceasing at foot of a hill.

My journey within glowing since days of youth,
     Sparkling through exposure and learning,
Has been deeply anchored with quest to know myself,
To find who I am and my goals in life.

Storms of life sustained from fate and men
Have propelled me to scan deeper within myself,
To treasure peace and bliss in solitude
At the shining lake of my inner self.

The Lost

Those we lost to the night,
Gone before the sunrise,
Summoned by the unseen,
Taken to the beyond.

Those who have lost to time,
Worn down by its passage,
Sometimes sit on the porch, basking in the daylight.
Time stops for them as they journey to the beyond.

Those we have lost to conflict,
The warmonger’s toolbox is filled with devices and schemes.
Conflicting emotions surge within us;
There’s a falling away,
An evil that stubbornly persists.

Those we have lost to brutality,
Carried away by insurgency,
A matter of urgency;
Though some returned,
They were haunted by torturous trauma.

Those we have lost to rebellion,
Who journeyed into the meadow of darkness,
Sailed into the heart of a turbulent sea,
Cloaked by the desert of time.

Celestial Cyberspace

Cyberspace, my blue astral projector
I'm not seeking new friends to entertain
I dwell in a big celestial sector
Cradled in great cool mists and northern rain.

Yet, from funny dark galaxies above
Comes bright celestial advice, kind and wise.
The Oak Grove beckons those whom nature loves
To stretch their wings where faery nature flies.

A faery soars through Cosmos, fierce and free.
No longer bound by bedridden routine.
I journeyed back through past pink memories
And glimpsed my magic future, wide and keen.

A verdant woman, celestial and high,
Candle visions that light the morning sky.

The Unfolded Path

In pursuit of promise, he journeyed far,
A dual path of toil and academic star.
Leaving loved ones, a distant shore,
He braved new faces, some warm, others a bore.

Hostility's sting, he wouldn't endure,
Focus on friendly souls, his heart's allure.
Through want and need, he pressed on ahead,
Enticing pleasure, a siren he'd rather be dead.

Night's silence, his studies' sacred space,
Research and lessons, his waking pace.
"A purpose unknown, makes sleep a delight,"
He'd tell himself, through the dark of night.

His children's voices, a heartfelt refrain,
"Daddy, when?" "Soon," he'd say, in love's sweet strain.
Though absence pained, he'd endure the test,
For future's promise, his family's crest.

Premium MemberGRANDMA’S PRAYING HANDS

Hands of wisdom
Gone on to God’s Kingdom
Guidance in understanding
Knowing and sustaining
Heaven on high
The watch from Thy
Encouragement that was broad
My heart being assured
Grandma’s years of living experience
Her impact and influence
Strength endurance
Grandma wise
Seeing I to I
Times of Discipline
Wrong to right
Youthful years sometimes resent
As an Adult, I understand
Her song her own, “Afterwhile”
I am enriched to stand and withstand
Her praying hands feature
My Grandmother was some teacher
Grandson don’t worry
I her whispers in live and enjoy
I learned well
Understanding myself and purpose
My footsteps have journeyed miles
My reflections while
The think back
Keeping track
Living my best in Grandma’s wisdom
Preparation test fulfilled
More greatness to come
The live out
Grandma’s desire

Paths that part

In the garden where laughter used to grow,
We shared our secrets, watching time flow.
Now paths diverge, and stories unwind,
Friends who were once close, now hard to find.

Seasons change, and so do we,
Chasing dreams, setting spirits free.
Yet in the quiet moments, echoes remain,
Of inside jokes and joy, mingled with pain.

Pictures fade, but memories hold tight,
Late night talks and stars shine bright.
Though miles may stretch and lines rearrange,
In hearts embrace, we will never be estranged.

So here's to the friends who've journeyed afar,
You shine in my thoughts, like a guiding star.
Though distance may linger and life pulls away,
That bond we forged will forever stay.

Songs of Hope

She sang from the depths of her soul,
Songs of hope and redemption.
A river flows gently through her chamber,
Searching for the gate to Zion.

She has journeyed many times out of the night,
Yet it still lingers behind her.
A rhythm of turbulence fills her soul.
The day opens its doors,
And she walks into its complexities.

"The stars beckoned her song to reach the crescent moon,"
And the elements carried her melodies into secret chambers.
Sometimes, in her slumber, she sees a distant glow,
Surrounding a place but gradually dims and dies.

Her song was heard by the night watchers;
It awakened the unseen.
Light came her way,
But will it end the trail of the night?

Premium MemberSOULS DESCENDED

One after the other
From Hospital rooms and where ever else
Heaven’s call
Come up
Far beyond the skies
Everlasting Rejoice
Human skies can’t see
Far from Earth
The creation
The sensation
Souls took up their crosses and journeyed to the Pearly Gates
The enter
The welcome
Angels orchestrated
No more pain nor sorrow
Better continuous tomorrows
Souls soared into their new frontier
Horizon blessing
Sorrow no more
Don’t mourn
Until the next time meet
I am in Heaven in God’s retreat
Until

I Tried to Unlearn

I Tried to Unlearn

……. his name , his face, his memory
but each morning they kept resurfacing;
rubber ringed feelings that would not sink
no matter how hard I pushed down.
So I journeyed to places
that had rooted our relationship:

The park where the broad-shouldered oak
unwrapped delicacies of intimate memories
then leaning in much closer
it shared a consolatory shadow.

The river that coiled past
churned up affectionate thoughts
then rippled onwards to twist back
with a scornful smirk that made fun of me.

The café where he teased
about expressoing our shared ideas
and consolidating coffee compatibility.
Then on the butterfly wings of symmetry
our relationship seemed to fly to new heights
but was I another Icarus on a solo flight?

So the past that I had plucked at
offered no signs of warning, no signals of regret;
sadly the present, the here and now,
yields no guidance on how to….. forget.
