A wind-induced smile greets me. Cradling the baby’s head, floccose like a ripe raspberry; I’m both filled with wonder and dread. The fragrance of the care products is a stark contrast to the latibule I’ve habituated for many years during my tours of duty. How am I to care for this fragile being when mankind is hell-bent on extirpation? The eminent threat is daily updated on the Doomsday Clock. Paradise razed by conflagration like the residue of a charred batch of jam: irredeemable! I can but sigh while I vow to protect him and his mother to the best of my ability.

we are fractured
in a way that seems
irredeemable.
there's no super glue
to mend
a broken relationship.
no splint, no cast, no medication
to fuse us back together
as we once were.
a fragile china cup
dropped from a great height
and shattering into
a million tiny pieces.
an old shelf,
so weighed down by years of
new information and
changing interests,
that the wood has splintered
and worn apart.
we are fractured
in a way that seems
irredeemable,
but even the most
shattered
damaged
broken
can be repaired

“Time and tide wait for no man”, affirm the wise.
Everything should be done in the allotted time n’ space.
Like waves which wait for none, time will advance.
By staying idle, we may never get one more chance!
Each one is granted a fixed quantum of time.
Without notice, seconds pass with a silent chime.
Those who handle time without enough caution,
May later come to regret and land in perdition.
As the moving pendulum of time swings,
Each day, to infinity, steadily wings.
Time is like a diminishing bank account.
Nothing can be added to the existing amount.
Time wasted should be our greatest regret.
It is precious and irredeemable, never forget.
Before infirmities set in, earn what you can,
For life here has only a short stretch and span!

I am lost in a swamp
of adjectives, gooey, sticky,
boggy, messcatastric (don't bother looking that one up),
longing to rise above the mess, excretion, digest
completion, Gobblystinko (don't bother) – and
fly into a sky of non billowy, yet brilliant, resplendent,
eyeglareoffendic (forget it also) to meet bright
Nature Spirits, wings shimmering, gleaming, after the
rain-steaming~ those fumes of rainbows at high altitudes, gaggaliftic! (yep, now
you are catching on). So, please save me some adjectives, that
I may use for my own bejeweled, overly flamboyant, astringent,
laxateric-metafatalelastic (toss it) facsimileing-irredeemable,
superfluous poetry.

My son was a kid in a room.
Tubs full of Star Wars figures;
Rancor Monster, Squid Head, Yak Face.
Admiral Akbar was a good guy
with a mother somewhere,
a fine woman though a bit of a trout no doubt.
but Snaggletooth with his blaster
was an irredeemable mother er.
Then, from a parallel universe,
Skeletor, Beast Man and Evil-lyn
drop from the outer rim of a boxed universe,
all arriving in a sullen haste to lay the room waste.
Evil-Lyn was hot. We kept her out of the carnage mostly,
but she was bad to the plastic bone.
My son tells me he has visions,
he sees leather-winged daemons.
I lie, tell him that there are no toy figures of those,
so they don’t exist.
On the floor, monsters are on a rampage
He-man is screwing up as usual.
For both of us
our only hope is in Optimus Prime.

The successful preacher spoke with a pious tone
very soothing to the ear.
Great days are coming .
when all of mankind shall be peaceable and agreeable
and there shall be no more irredeemable souls.
The church choir stood up and they began to sing like angels and beneath the choir you can hear the rustling of pockets and jingling of change, the snapping and unzipping of handbags, wallets and purses in a very pious tone soothing to the spirit of tithing.

Neither yesterday with her episodes sad,
Nor dreamy tomorrow in lively linen clad,
Will ever beat the present moment's feel
Of wars won by sheer grit and avid steel.
You’re an irredeemable dunce to look back
And rue or weep over yesterday's lost goal,
Since you’ll for stale tears’ veils fail to see
That today’s wins far dim all old hours’ gall.
None laughs or cries over buried pain,
Save when new rubs old wound relive;
And true lovers instinctively kiss or hug
To still fresh stirs by rogue senses five.
So where's yester-woe's stale sting
In our current moment's first-felt tic?
Isn’t kind Nature's omniscient design
Force enough to ease fate’s icy kick?
Sing me yesterday’s dirges no more,
For today's joys must steal the show!

what the!
did you say
we the people
are living
in a bad new age
we can no longer
live in a melodramatic
irredeemable way!
oblivious to
what, we do
and how it will
hurt the children
of today
you say
we the community
need to act
in a uncivilized way
clean up this
right away
and do all we can
on this very day
cut down on
things that cause
environment toxic waste
shout no more
crude oil spills
in the river and lakes
and not to live
with plastics
severed up
on our family's
dinner plates
no! you didn't,
just
try and save the World
by getting manhandle
by every cop in the world
whats that you say
its time to
get up and march
its another
fu*k with the
man Friday
Ok! lets do it your way...

An invisible wall exists
Between two neighbouring nations
That were once one whole large land
Holocausts of bloody battles
Cold terrorism and bubbled egos
Has cast our irredeemable divide
Generations tilled unitedly
In the undivided country
Whiffing the same gentle air
The ashes of my ancestors
Mingled with their dust
None to separate their fragrances
I'm an off shoot whose roots are buried across
A soft puff brings memories of my predecessors
Luring me to their homes but the wall becomes non-invasive

***Acrostic***
Treacherous, scandalous jezebel trying to cast her spell, an
Egregious rascal trying to sink her teeth into my skin
Mischievous, I can smell her fragrance, sweet
Pheromones, her sexual desires like poetry
Tempting my
Animal urges to do something irredeemable, disagreeable.
Temptress of forbidden temptations, I am already given the
Invitation, testing me, I will dispel this jezebel but I am
Overcome, intrigued in mysterious rapture, I
Need to recapture my senses.

I have ben disappointed. I have been dismayed,
by such irrefragable frauds ensuring justice is delayed.
I have been disheartened. I have been disserved,
by such irredeemable cretins with ethics badly curved.
I have been disenchanted. I have been distressed,
by such irrepressible greed than could ever be confessed.
But in this, oh, high and mighty, you are equal to the lowly,
by this irreversible fact: both your clocks are ticking slowly.
