Intusive Thoughts
Often quiet evenings, when I read,
Memories of you softly intrude
Times when you were my only need
Heady days of a love we pursued
and saw only in glasses rose hued.
Thoughts surface I wish would move on,
as unknown others invade my sleep.
They are interlopers, quickly spawned,
spreading fantasies that grow and creep,
like tangled vines invading my sleep.
Dreams of you

Peter in the summer morning sun
his cool smile shaded by shadows run
his voice as soothing as coffee’s scent
tell me he wasn’t heaven sent
Peter of Malibu moss and Spanish rose
his lips like light-coral, in kissable repose
his legs slouched akimbo, like a tiger’s limbs
how I long to re-entangle myself in them.
Peter’s quick caress, on windy Tropez beaches
aren’t

Invasive species
As our human population increases
we risk becoming an invasive species.
We are spreading with speed
like an unwelcome weed,
so native creatures are suffering decreases.

Her Invasive Hair
her hair is all over the place
wackadoodle with curls
filling up the space between chairs
stiff burgundy and black locks
twirling around the bottom of our feet
Which would have been okay in normal heat
It is ninety-two degrees in here.
So her wackadoodle hair is slightly irritating
to those of us who have to watch how we move our chairs.

Pervasive
what is the true pattern of consciousness in this immense universe?
how far into the overwhelming breach has awareness been dispersed?
in the depths of exhaustion, the dark silent stillness nourishes me
universe is full of entities which act surreptitiously
from ignition, our sun has shown each second of every cosmic day
particle exchange has long been the source of

life had become a flat line
a once wonderful rhythm
ceased to pulsate
not even palpitations
pressure had won over
struggling on
depression self-harm
cognitive dysfunction

excised rotten valves
replaced them with joy
bypassed clots of despair
offered new lease of love
sleeping beauty woke up
from deep slumber
when the surgeon
closed the wounds
she bore her scars with
gratitude and pride

the bittersweet that grows and starts
clandestine tendrils at my heart
pulling as my grasp decays
on withered vines by
lonely caves
yet I reach for
fetid fruits while
rats in my gaze and guile
chuckle with their
rodent smiles
still wondering how
we chose to be
this victim of insanity
where sand is quick
who struggles most
surely to please
their willing host

There's a plant in my garden,
Looks like a tree.
I didn't plant it,
But I watered it, you see.
There's a plant in my garden,
With roots running deep.
It's sucking the life
Right out of me.
There's a plant in my garden
That's bigger than me.
I didn't plant it,
But I watered it, you see.

Private Eyes Invasive Eyes
Everywhere, in dark and light,
are always watching eyes.
Way out in space,
glowing orbs,
some of gold;
watch through celestial layers.
Sift through the layers,
to allow the light.
Expose the golden,
watching eyes.
Those burning orbs,
that hide in space.
We all need our private space.
Desperate, we dress in layers,
to escape the

Brilliant, iridescent
Illuminating all paths
Glows in deepest darkness; can not be hid!
