life had become a flat line a once wonderful rhythm ceased to pulsate not even palpitations pressure had won over struggling on depression self-harm cognitive dysfunction one final cut then he touched her heart excised rotten valves replaced them with joy bypassed clots of despair offered new lease of love sleeping beauty woke up from deep slumber when the surgeon closed the wounds she bore her scars with gratitude and pride 10th September 2021 Contest: The One Who Touched My Heart Sponsor: Regina McIntosh
