The Shriek of the Decapitated Hydra

Iiiiiiiii…It hurts! How hot is the amputation…

Committed by the blade of your bloody weapon?!

But watch out for the result of your transgression?

Wiiiiiiii…Witness! Here it grows again! See my recuperation!

Now double your trouble! Double your damnation!

Hahahahahahahahaha! Poor Hercules! You've got a harder operation!

Iiiiiiiii…Intolerable! Another chop! Another daring action!

Don't you know it'll be the same situation?!

Grow! Grow another head! Let's move on!

Iiiiiiiii…Ignorant man! What a stupid person?!

Do not be blinded by your own illusion!

You have no match for this mighty creation!

Kiiiiiiii…Kill every source of his inspiration!

Let's end his brave, impossible mission!

He's nothing compared to our raging union!

Iiiiiiiii…Impossible! Why can't we carry on?!

Aha! One by one he's putting us into incineration!

Alas! Oh Lerma! Hear this Shriek of the Decapitated Hydra – a melting iron!

Tooth ache

The throb deep in the jaw
Nothing else feels quite so sore
Can think about nothing but pain
This is like a brutal campaign

Trying to urgently ring a dentist
Needing pain relief from the chemist
No appointments for several days
Why all the unnecessary delays

Feeling the pain behind my eyes
The intolerable pain is my demise
Nothing even dims this pain
Wanting to slice out the vein

The pain relentless
Working out how I could of prevented this
I brush those teeth twice a day
And the pain doesn’t stay away

The dentist told me to wait 14 weeks
To get that thing pulled from between my cheeks
What an absolute joke
I could have a bloody stroke

Can’t see a doctor or go to a hospital
Just keep putting on something topical
The state of basic public services
Is enough to cause disturbances

Oh I pray the pain to vanish
To a place it can banish
Before the next one comes to have a play
All in an effort to ruin every day

This won’t stop until the bone graft my jaw
The next couple of years I’ll be eating through a straw
Because public services are so woeful
And we are told to be grateful

living forever

Living forever

I read in a Newspaper, was it the Guardian
that some world leaders like to live forever
I wonder what Trump has to say about that
I think he has a moment when I think about
This problem, or is he sure of his longevity
It doesn't matter what other leaders think
Putin and the Chinese leader like to live for
All the time, we understand, they have the power
and all the plans, the thought that someone
could come along is intolerable
They must be hollow inside, soulless inside
like a tree in the forest that is hollow inside

Premium Member Outcomers who Refuse Innoculations

Outbreak of tuberculosis
Out and out ridiculousness
Outcomers who refuse inoculations
Outgrowth of a new pandemic
Outlandish selfishness and self-importance
Outrageous and intolerable
Outside of common sense
Outstandingly self-absorbed and neglectful

Too Much

Sadly, she felt happy all of the time,
not a pinch of depression or anxiety
or any doubt, nor questioning
ever entered her life.

Of course this pissed off the rest of us.
She was impossible to put up with for long.
It wasn't natural, it was galling,
intolerable.

Kind?
She was very kind, helpful and ever attentive,
always considerate; it drove us crazy.

The best we could do is avoid her,
keep her at arm's length,
pray for her simple soul, commiserate,
try to understand.

Premium Member I walk alone

I walk alone and that's ok because no-one has walked in my shoes
No-one has seen exactly what I have, breathed or lived it
Whether it was pain or joy I feel or intolerable change I face,
I walk alone in a world that is no longer what I knew to be

The colorful flowers are still standing in growth and beauty
The mountains still wait for the sun to sink and rest
Where must one go for peace, nestled in the trees, waiting?
Never let go of the good things you know, hold on tightly now

I walk alone with choices I have made, from what I know
There is always a simple gesture to find...
a way to smile, a place to be free, far from all constraints
I walk alone and as I walk, the music of life carries on

cassock dance

Cassock dance

The heaven hangs low today, just above
the spire of the village church, which
is closed since the priest hung himself
in the vestry.
He drank, you see
lifted his cassock and danced
lost respect among the parishioners
he had humiliated them
the men in the bar gave him whisky to drink
and he danced like a drunken tart.
The bishop remonstrated with the fallen
who promised to do better
He was seen in prone before the cross
Pale and suffering, etched into his still
handsome face, women said he looked
Jesus, when the ladies of mercy took
him down and cleaned his wounds
Alas, the call from the bar grew louder
intolerable
a breeze from the open window
he danced the last waltz in the vestry

Premium Member What am I - a Riddle

What am I?

I’m great fun and sometimes crazy,
Loud or soft with moods quite hazy,
Full of love, sorrow, unrequited loss,
One minute happy another sullen, cross.
I see the world in shades of neon gray,
Rarely do I care or anyone obey,
My vibes are epic, they constantly perplex,
Full of contradictions, invariably complex.
I can praise the Lord, drink myself into a stupor,
Stalking the room with unrequited humor.
Sex is my go-to, gentle or pulsating,
Not always happy, at times tearfully heartbreaking.
I know the secret to capture every heart,
Life would be intolerable by keeping me apart.
Whatever you may think this is no passing phase,
I'm known to be pervasive and hound your mind for days.
My moods are epic, a journey to discover,
Your friend to soothe you or belatedly recover.

Come on - What am I?

Premium Member Good Times, Bad Times

We live in good times
(by most historical standards)
Yet more accurately these are the best of times,
and the worst of times, as not only is there everything
imaginable happening, but
every up must have a down.

But in good times, with a good times mentality
we think there shouldn’t be any down side,
and if it comes then it must be something
we’re doing wrong, or aren’t doing right enough,
and when it comes, it becomes intolerable as we sink
into despair or scramble for our bag of tricks.

Bags of tricks are good, to ease the strain
and make it through another day,
but they aren’t meant to erase the down time
as much as give us the strength, the breather
the resilience to face it all
with patience and equanimity.

Down sides after all are just
the other side of up,
the other half of a whole,
and to expect to have one without the other
is childishly foolish
in the extreme.

Good times create soft people
who then create hard times
which in turn creates hard people
who then create good times…
round and round, on and on
up and down without end.

On Being Woke

“Woke”, past tense of “awake”,
It is generally thought that,
This is a good thing,
My worst nightmares begin,
At that point.

If being “awake” means ignoring,
Reality at another’s behest,
It’s intolerable.

Allow the thoughts of others,
Permeate my mind,
So I Might wade into the pool of diversity.

Do not deny myriad creative thought,
And when the creation blooms,
In all its perverse manner,
However, it is clothed (or not),
My Concern fades.

The impact of being “awake”,
When the travails (and joyful
Epiphanies) of life become,
We realize every thought is past,
Tense.
Wake up!

POPULAR POLITICAL INTIMIDATION

"Better to die fighting for freedom than being a prisoner
all the days of your life "
Bob Marley

In life
What has the beginning
can also have its end.
In life
What seems tolerable now
Can become intolerable in the future.
Many African countries had been bullied
for many years by some super powers.
It was difficult  for many African countries
To speak loud about some atrocities
Because of intimidations of loosing
some western benefits.

How life is about,
Now there is popular political intimidation
of South Africa to loose some western deals
because of filling a genocidal case
against Israel.
I don't think it is fair to continue keeping
quiet  while Israel government continue committing
crimes against humanity in Gaza.
I don't think other African countries
will support some oppressors
and let South Africa down.

In life
Speaking the truth
Is always my wish.

Imagine, if you will,
intolerable temps,
indomitable force,
incalculable mass,
imponderable strength,
ineffable presence,
interminably – here.

Fire Or Fire

A man awaits his end,
Dreading and hoping all;
Many times he died,
Many times rose again.
Love is the unfamiliar Name
Behind the hands that wove
The intolerable shirt of flame
Which human power cannot remove.
We only live, only suspire
Consumed by either fire or fire.

Premium Member Apothecary of Wordsmith Dreamscapes

My sleep is disrupted, badgered
by incessant wordplay,
a thesaurus of woolgathering
in semi-conscious dreams.
I keep a voice recorder,
bedside, to record the tidbit morsels
Lest they're forgotten
when I awaken and make bread
from the crumbs dropped
on my passage through the night.
The poet's worst nightmare is that
the crumbs will be eaten by crows
or carried away by ants in the night,
so the way back to recall
the thought trail is lost
and the poem will never
see the light of day,
and will never be crafted.
Any loss of these dream-let gems
is so frustrating and intolerable
to a poet, forever on the hunt
for magical meaningful words
beyond the hocus-pocus
of abracadabra in dreamscape thoughts,
and images, that pop into my head when dreaming.
