Poetry

Some may say
it is a curse
who's to know
but could be worse
altho' no aesthete
I'm not averse
to levity when
taking up the pen
to scribe a poem then
making it rhyme
it's wit I seek
one line at a time
with tongue in cheek
(roses are red Mondays are blue
honey is sweet violets are too)
and once in a while
as humour is the fave
to break out a smile
late in the day
catching words
before they slip away
giving voice
to my innermost thoughts
whimsy is my quirk of choice

Innermost Desire

Loneliness shows when there is no-one to talk to about poetry.
No-one to share flowered words of love and trust,
and of pain and joy with.
Moon soaked nights,
Lying awake,
Forgetting that the world exists.
All but you and I in this moment here.
Talking of nothing,
Yet it means everything.
We as humans, have this ability,
To open up and peel back the different layers of another's soul.
If they so choose to let us in,
Of course.
How is there anything more bewildering than that?
Seeing the beauty in them which they cannot see themselves.
And telling them of it later.
Tell me of your dreams and I will tell you mine.
Let us sit in an overgrown garden.
Where we can watch the stars.

Innermost thoughts

I'm not quite sure,
If it was right or wrong,
I only know the journey was long.
Lessons were learned-
while others were taught,
Realizing things I almost forgot.
Admitting my faults
and trying to change within,
Knowing by God's mercy
 I have been forgiven.
I've been cut to the core,
now scars remain-
Battle wounds I call them,
reminders of the pain.
Although certain things seem unfair-
I am reassured that God is there.
Holding my hand
 & standing by my side-
Healing me with Love
And arms open wide.

Innermost Light

Within the depths of my very being
Resides a soul that is all seeing
With truth and strength it gently leads
A reflection of love so boundless and free

One night I felt the calling light
Within my mind, under my skin
The soul reaching out to my mind
To beckon me to this shrine within

We light a sacred incense,
to warm up our innermost light
To serve our senses so well
To melt all that which divides
To get through this eternal hell
To take us up to greater heights

In the realm where dreams take flight,
A love emerges, shining so bright
The divine love for my higher self
Unveiling the bigger picture to help

In awe of all the wonders in its eyes
I try to catch my breath
A glimpse from the future delights
Of cosmic oceans widespread

We light a sacred incense,
to warm up our innermost light
To serve our senses so well
To melt all that which divides
To get through this eternal hell
To take us up to greater heights

An embodiment of the divine will
Transcending eternally above syncing twills
with every step, i draw closer still
wisdom in chaos with my heart fulfilled

Premium MemberInnermost Secrets

Suppose I tell you all my innermost secrets
Lay my soul bear before you without fear,
Will you respect what confidence merits
Consider the trust I placed in you as dear?

Knowing I have shared with you my hurt
Suppose I tell you all my innermost secrets,
Having come to you for needed comfort
A favored friendship among all my outlets.

Nothing is so sacred as sharing our regrets,
As laying bear our most personal intimacies
Suppose I tell you all my innermost secrets
We have always conversed with such ease.

Will you think me less for unveiling my soul
Not seeking for how your mind interprets,
But wanting our comradeship to be whole
Suppose I tell you all my innermost secrets.

What Lies Within

“What is this strange place we find ourselves in
Trapped in the open, we are free within?”

Ideas, like the ocean, there’s no end in sight
Yet shared among peers may bring panic, no light.

Our hearts, how they dance to such symphonic sounds
Our bodies rejected and kept within bounds.

Yearning to scatter our innermost thoughts
Restrained by the chains of a world never sought.

Can we escape this unchosen venue?
Perhaps empathy might change our world’s view…

Premium MemberInnermost Peace

Ah! It’s soul quiet here today.
Thinking about all minds humming,
In glorious freedom as they may.
My soul at peace, like guitar strumming

Spring, summer,approach on tip-toe
My cat’s breath across my thighs
Blessed in life’s boat, no need to row.
Just, drink tea, contemplate God’s wondrous sky.

Premium MemberInnermost Musing

When I feel downhearted and full of loss with life,
gone astray, hopeless, adrift, and a cast away;
and I feel my heart has been stabbed deep with a knife,
when my thinking is dismay and my days are gray;
I go to a spiritual place and space,
to ponder my innermost voices and embrace;
I fold back my memories to find some grace,
and in soul searching meditation my history- trace.

And within I observe a journey of fallen dreams,
but also see my triumph and courage to survive;
for I have climbed from devastation many times it seems,
and with strength risen from pits of sorrow to stay alive;
so, when I feel my existence falling to despair,
I go inside to contemplate and my tears bare;
and I remove thoughts of defeat with a prayer,
and humble my human pride- for the Lord to share.

The Innermost Me

I am a false face.
They think they know me.
They don’t.
They see only what I show them.
	Me. One of them.
There are different me’s, different faces.

I am a false person.
I show what I think they want to see,
Reflecting the perfect me.
	For them.
I will show them what they expect, not what I am.

What I am is only inside.
No one knows about that me.
Sometimes not even me.
I see the me’s society sees,
Not the ones I care about.

Too ashamed to show.
That’s what I am.
Too afraid to show the me that’s on the inside, outside.
They will judge. They can’t help it.
It’s just their nature.

To judge the oddities, the outcasts.
So I wear a different face.
Some elements of me. My loves, my hates.
But not my expression.

I’m an outcast here, too.
But only because they forget me.
Not because they judge me.
It’s better this way.

Maybe finally I will understand myself.
All the me’s.
Maybe they will all serve a different function for me. Me’s.
Maybe I’m complete as I am. Or not.
They all have a different answer, the me’s.
The one that really matters, the innermost me, I cannot hear.
I will listen until I do.

The Scenery of the Innermost Me

picture#2

Poetically see...me...

On top of a rock reaching my limits.

The luminous sky awakening my eerie thoughts.

A reflection of oneself cascading on this black void-which many prefer to be called a lake in the darkest of nights.

Where I stand is where I'll be

out by the lake on a rock, is that a tree?

With my horrid eyesight I get to only see

the reflecting on my innermost thoughts

glorified by the beauty of this scenery.

L-onely night is gone,
A-pril seventeenth day;

A-nd free verses penned;
J-ust read between the lines
A-nd your joy is without end.
R-ewrite them in your mind,
D-o the same into your heart;
