Innermost Musing
When I feel downhearted and full of loss with life,
gone astray, hopeless, adrift, and a cast away;
and I feel my heart has been stabbed deep with a knife,
when my thinking is dismay and my days are gray;
I go to a spiritual place and space,
to ponder my innermost voices and embrace;
I fold back my memories to find some grace,
and in soul searching meditation my history- trace.
And within I observe a journey of fallen dreams,
but also see my triumph and courage to survive;
for I have climbed from devastation many times it seems,
and with strength risen from pits of sorrow to stay alive;
so, when I feel my existence falling to despair,
I go inside to contemplate and my tears bare;
and I remove thoughts of defeat with a prayer,
and humble my human pride- for the Lord to share.
