It's All In The Mind

Before nodding off in bed and on the cusp
of wide awake and fast asleep
when I can't keep my eyes open
while drifting down into darkness deep
the oddest thoughts cross my mind
without so much as a single warning
but even stranger still of it's own free will
it recalls them all come the morning
where they originate I can't say
as fleeting flybys quite romancy
they're not dreams or so it seems
but nightly random flights of fancy

My mind’s the only shelter where I hide
When troubles overcome and fear spreads
My mind’s a room where I can sit inside
Imagining I’m safe, untangling threads
Attempting to detach from grief and pain
I seek for consolations of all kinds
My mind is working hard to keep me sane
And it’s the only place where I can find
My dearest darling J, who’s gone from sight
Into another world where one day I shall go
But till my mind is living, every night
She comes to sing the song we used to know
No conscious life without the mind I gain
Only the presence of the mind provides reality
Inside my mind I touch the sun, and feel the rain
Your smiling face, my J, reminds of immortality.

Winter in the Mind

Cold air at the door
Blanket of white snow
Forlorn the trees sag
Drooping branches bare
Crystals of frost creep

Yet it is warm
The fire burns hot
The blanket tight
The coffee steams

Harsh blizzard
Howling wind
All so cold

Yet warm
Cosy
Happy

Calm

When we reach the end at last

And it's peace we hope to find

Will we see the light that's cast

Or the pictures in our mind

The Words In the Mind

Listening through the words in a Beatles song
written by John Lennon
I thought of music but it's hard to construe
without thinking of the blues
If everything was art
you would be in a better place
to start
but your not
you go through time
like an echo

Premium Member Treasure In the Mind

I saw your blue eyes, so gentle and kind
Some things we see, leave imprints in memory
Like a treasure, forever, in your mind

A gentle touch, lasts forever freely
Unexpected hugs can highlight a day
Some things we see, leave imprints in memory

We may bashfully not know what to say
So many things touch our soul and heart
Unexpected hugs can highlight a day

Distance stirs emptiness deeply, apart
Cherish all genuine, that you may share
So many things touch our soul and heart

Cast as far as you can to show you care
It’s a smile, that moment strikes, you’ll see
Cherish all genuine that you may share

Surprises are found in simplicity
I saw your blue eyes, so gentle and kind
It’s a smile, that moment strikes, you’ll see
Like a treasure, forever, in your mind

Premium Member No Graveyards In the Mind

Yes, yes, his siblings are long deceased
though there are no graveyards in the mind

He relives their quarrels each night in dreams
struggling, in vain, to flee nightmares unkind

By day, his two sisters whimper, one in each ear
by night, their fury they roar, magnifying his fears...

No, no, there aren't any graveyards in the mind
just brows deeply furrowed, faces etched with lines

Snowflakes In The Mind

What do they look like
People, ideas, objects, memories, visions, sensations, passions.
Vanished like snowflakes on the tip of your tongue.
The transient fragrance of a new born held close to your breast.
Smoke rising from the campfire at the end of day.
The rolling thunder sound of storm, and lightening to lite the sky.
The heat of passion as the light flashes out.
The eyes that glaze over at the close of life while you hold the hand and then cradle only the form without light.

Like snowflakes-each one is unique, never seen before or to be seen again.
Like snowflakes they all vanish to be held only as memories.

The Rain In the Mind

The fog became so dense
My eyes open in intense
The quarrel in my heart
I hope it come apart

The fear of not able to do
As the weather comes through
The heat becomes so dangerous
A deep breath becomes obvious

The Voice and Sounds of nature
Keeps the feeling of being mature
Lack of focus because of my tear
Makes everything unclear

The unwillingness of hoping
Comes choices that is sloping
The clouds that cover the sun
Keeps the bird in the tree after they sung

This feeling cross all roads that feels empty
The feeling of darkness that seems plenty
The hurt that begs to loosen ice
The feeling of every thing nice

Comes all our dream of being ourselves
Never keeping our emotions on the shelves
Life becomes easy when there is no tears
An now our minds will never open up in fear

Who needs a boost?
With endorphins you are always in the driving seat.
Belt up about clean bill!
Self love, self acceptance come in standard and
De Lux Editions, jewel case or soft pack
signed by the inner peace within.
Put those axons and dendrites to work.
Pump up those dormant alkalies asleep on the job.
Treat yourself well,
be your best health care plan,
be that one and only healer,
wave goodbye to doctors bills!

magnifica
      noblis
       so insigne&variegated
a mosaic
           simplified
pleasing&lovely
compacta with everlasting
sweetness
     of heart shaped love

glowing flugens red umbels
of agape
before
   withering away
    in a forgotten
              wreath
in a sky
     out of reach
barren&unfertile
yet
  unfading
           a tricoleur
to brighten the eyes

ornamental foliage
drifts
    upon the breeze
a briza of beauty
a catalyst
       for pleasure
so pungent
 so delicious
  so exquisite
      flowering in the mind
a collage

                       lively
                         novel
imaginations
in radical rhythms
           embracing
           the minimalist
to illuminate
to highlight
     the golden threads
of the whole
               cosmos
in a celebration
of darkness&light
glistening
  with sensitivity
bringing
             clarity

a sense of purpose
nimbly
        dancing
through
the intricacies
 of creativity

Premium Member Is Movement In the Mind

I move around the kitchen.
I move around the hall.
And then around the bathroom.
I move from wall to wall.

But has anyone considered
If we ever move around?
As images within our mind
are always inward bound!

Could we be stationary
Never moving from a spot?
Our consciousness determined
by some devilish robot!

Am I the only player?
Do I actually exist?
In a universe where I’m
the one, no one will ever miss.

Battle In the Mind

Battle in the mind

Been praying to God this morning
At peace tonight
Been battling fears and doubt
Won that fight

Been fighting doubt in my mind
Secrets no one knew
Won the battle with God’s grace
He knew my truth

A thought turns into an obsession
Overthinking and depression
Now From omg he cheating tonight to
Jesus I trust you Take over my life

Whenever I start overthinking
Over and over again I say Jesus name
Demons get angry and say I will lose everything
They know that’s one of my biggest fears
They lie
But thier lies don’t work when Jesus is by my side

He has always been with me
Even in my dreams
Even when I gave up on him
He won’t and never will leave
When I lose all hope
He still held my hand tightly
He never let me go

I been let down by so many people
People just don’t care hateful and evil
They be happy to see me down and depressed
Did a lot of praying, had to forgive
Work hard and take care of my kids
And God take care of the rest
