simple truths ~ let us list them out
if heart’s quiescent, mind is still
in staid silence, voids within fill

let not fears and dark desires grout
know this: we are not body-mind
leave imagined knowing behind

God dwells in our heart, have no doubt
He is felt as bliss magnetism
wisdom transcending every ism

to find Him, let seeds of love sprout
remaining at all times bliss rife
recognising transience of life

hold firm faith in monk-mode devout
breath by breath, let go of ego
at peace in the boat, God does row

simple truths ~ let us list them out
let not fears and dark desires grout
God dwells in our heart, have no doubt
to find Him, let seeds of love sprout
hold firm faith in monk-mode devout

Premium Member Hold firm resolve

Hold firm resolve, to remain still,
gentling thought, word and deed,
that thus by relinquishing will,
we let love take the lead.

Awake dear heart, awake
Be tranquil like a lake
Our soul’s growth is at stake

If we’d evolve
Hold firm resolve

A lone pattern in glow and gleam

Fear not the countless stars that light the sky,
For many naysayers still will deny.
Find them a place where they must stay away,
The clouds will part, your star will shine today.

Each star, a lone pattern in glow and gleam.
So nothing dims its light or halts its dream.
The clouds hold space to cradle your surprise,
For many reasons, your star has to rise.

Just know your star must shine despite the dark,
A mentor great in knowledge lights a spark,
Ignites a flame no force can quench or tame,
Its glow entrenched beyond all doubt or shame.

Let not the winds of fear obscure your way,
For dawn will break to bring a brighter day.
Hold firm to dreams, let courage be your guide,
With steadfast hope, your light will gleam and glide.

Premium Member A Vine in Winter

Withered wishes
lick the sap of spring
and loose all they've held,
except all that dared to
winter in a heart
that clings where hope's
tendrils grow tired and
      brittle

and still ~ in their final
vestige of existence,
braved the relentless frosts
   and hold firm,
even in their death,
the supple youth that will
bear the fruits of
   another season...

The fire that now burns my spirit

Then happy in my own world,
before you proposed your silly love to me.
Like a hot magma landing on a still sea water;
you blow open my brain to take away my thoughts;
that made me meander with madness.
Before too long you started your hide and seek games,
when you knew too well my heart is very fragile.
Just a little spark you ended dimming my shining sunlight.
You have now shattered my heart into pieces.
                        The sky of my hope collapsed;
the stars, the moon and the clouds have all disappeared.
Even the ground could no longer hold firm my stands.
      I am now deep into drugs;
that's the fire that now burns my spirit.

Premium Member Beyond Every Frame

I’m not for every eye to see,
a quiet truth that lives in me.
Steady in heart, grounded and whole,
I guard the light within my soul.

I may not bend to each demand;
my roots hold firm where I stand.
Through scars and stumbles, I claim the road,
guided by courage to bear the load.

If I don’t fit the world’s tight mold,
I’ll shape my life with hands untold,
for I’m not bound to every frame,
and what I am won’t fear the flame.

Hold Firm Your Immovable Sacred Heart

Your sword that badly broken thrown away
night winds blowing another world apart
seven nuns, heads bowed slightly to pray
but what of my loving heart that gave your start
has this terrible world defeated us
did the black river decide to flow west
pure gold or did the dying man just cuss
as those spitting words cursed you the best.

Hold firm your immovable sacred heart
that pierces very deep my troubled soul
in the Heavens, across Poseidon's chart
red roses strewn celebrating your goal.

Your sword that badly broken thrown away.
Seven nuns, heads bowed slightly to pray.

The Devil Is Desire

In the depths of longing, where passions burn,
Resides a force, the devil's desire of fire.
With fiery eyes and a wicked grin,
He tempts and seduces, inviting you in.

His touch, like fire, ignites the soul's flame,
Unleashing cravings that bear no shame.
In whispered promises, he weaves his spell,
Drawing you closer to his tempting hell.

With every heartbeat, his manhood grows,
As temptation's tendrils, like wildfire's, blow.
He dances with your dreams, a devilish choreography,
Fanning desire's flames forevermore.

But beware his embrace, for it leads astray,
Into a realm where darkness sways.
Though enticing, this path is treacherous ground,
Where pleasure and pain are inextricably abound.

In the abyss of yearning, the devil waits,
His desires entwined with tempting fates.
Resist his call, hold firm to your soul ,
For the devil is desire, a All consuming fire.

Premium Member Gone Fishing - Or - There and Back Again Without Any

nestled in the lee of a thick flint wall
guys taut, grappling to hold firm
our canvas castle shook and shuddered
flimsy but somehow reassuring respite
as mountain giants prowled through the night

inside, hunched low over his stove
blue flames licking around the pan
Pops whistled a calming retort;
his gourmet dish to warm us up
bangers ‘n beans in a tin camp cup

we ate and we watched through the half closed flap
as lightning struck nearby -
so, while thunder grumbled at the drumming rain
(still in coats, with hats on heads)
we stretched out on our blow-up beds

father and son fishing had been the plan
on the shores of the lake that weekend
but different memories, caught by different lines
were shaped and set in that storm
as Pops read me ‘The Hobbit,’ all cosy snug and warm

Premium Member No Fear My Dear

NO FEAR , MY DEAR !

               Fear is a damn liar,
               Always showing fake fire!
               Have strength to overcome.
                Willpower to welcome.

                            Remove your Fear Factor,
                            building a bold character.
Hold firm faith and strong view.
                            Self confidence to rescue.

           Apprehending False Fear
           Don’t make a pause, My Dear !
           Act dauntless, make progress.
           Being frightened, not to regress.

                            Fear is a continued obstacle
                            Don’t sit idle hoping miracle.
                             Trouble turns mischievous,
                             coated by Fear : Fictitious.

      Fear is an evil messenger
      Skilled to fabricate danger.
      Fear shouldn’t get any entry.
      Allow Courage to enter free.

Premium Member Firm Planted

To separate and to divide,
to redefine things once held dear.
The distances grow ever wide;
the isolation leads to fear.

I think we’re headed for some grief;
more troubled times lie in our way.
As faith gives way to unbelief,
confusion seems to rule the day.

Our institutions lose our trust.
Unmoored, folk find it hard to cope.
But these are things that rot and rust,
and not where we should place our hope.

Hold fast, hold firm, dismiss the lies,
the adversary’s crafty talk.
Times such as these are no surprise
to feet firm planted on the rock.

Though, by me, I am nil,
Added in right I make people feel coolly fine,
I'm zero;

I hold firm till,
I stretch numbers far beyond nine,
And grow;

Each bill,
Pass through my line,
Fast.

Though, by me, I am nil,
I stretch numbers far beyond nine,
Fast

Winter Escape

Winter tends the garden
with leaf piles and broken branch
  nets of security and cover
refuge for all the woodland creatures
as they slip in and out the windy cold.

Within the graying skies
a purple blush blends the clouds
mixes in the light and dark
 with eerie anticipation
of the bleak white snows to come.

Walking the pathways
once lined with bloom and blossom
 all that remains is
browned stick remnants of summer warm
hidden beneath the grass and scattered leaves.

Beneath the earth
 secured safe and protected
bulb, seed and root hold firm
 renewing themselves for spring
buried deep and unseen in their winter escape.

Poised

Think
don't flinch
muscle poised
hold firm, steady
then release quickly jump at the ready.
