This is the hour
Words from mouths that sour
Sometimes unclean and censure
Get the picture
Anguish and aggravation
Every turn a detour
Diverse and aggravation
Uncontrollable tongue
Tasteless ears
Questionable thought
How and where
Through the hour, and second mouth event
Time after time
Word note
Negative phrase sometimes becomes a positive gesture
Not thinking and unresolving
Think before one speaks
Open up in expression having truth
Mirror reflect, what do you see?
The person themselves
What needs to change
The whole makeup
Taming the tongue
Tongue session
A presentation

NewArc.ai is an online service that helps designers turn their sketches into images in various styles such as photos and 3D renderings. Designers upload a sketch, choose a style, describe what they want, and quickly get a dozen of generated images.

It came in torrents and it came like a down pour
drop by drop it filled the streets with water
Rivers of rain so heavy you can't see the floor
cars floating by a bridge devoid of squatters

A reminder of a time when Noah did adhere
with an arc full of animals, God's pioneer
As water chaos drew close what we feared
was a land that we could no longer steer

It came in sheets of wet, cascading down us all
inch by inch it jammed the streets, we watched
Some of us swam some of us began to crawl
as we watched the storm kick it up a notch

Recalling the events of the past I can only sigh
as Mother Nature weeps another raindrop falls
I am praying God sends us an arc without A I
we need a basin full of love, not Niagara Falls.

Premium MemberTrying to Give Her a Hint

What do think of Gay Pheasant, the Lord, she asked me.
Meg had apparently invited him to her afternoon tea.
He is a bit persnickety and prissy I said to my cousin.
Meg is always being sought by suiters, sometimes a dozen.

He seems to like me Meg told me, I can kind of tell.
I could see that she did not know him at all well.
He likes his male companions the best, I said.
Meg did not get the picture, was she right in the head?

He dresses so fancy in brocades, silks, and satins too.
I think we would be such a sweet couple, don’t you?
He seems to best get along with our cousin Boy Sue.
If that was not the best hint, then what else could I do?

Premium MemberOur Evil Knievel Without the Evil

Jerry was an evel knievel without the evil part.
But he definitely was a child with a daredevil’s heart.
Get the picture! He would yell as he did flips, flops and other stuff.
He proved all the time that he was reckless and amazingly rough.

Get the picture! He would yell, even when upside down.
We liked everything about him, even though he was a bit of a clown.
I expected him to yell “Did you get the picture?” one day.
But his antics had broken his neck, so he lay in the clay.

Opposite

Opposite,
How stroke of love is?
loving after first sight,
someone of opposite feelings,
mind and thoughts.
flummoxing after being turned down
very hard to get the picture of the outcome.
jealous expanding its dimensions.

Opposite,
How stroke of love is?
emotions are natural,
it is sometimes hard,
hardly to convince
a person of opposite belief
feelings and principles
No matter how attractive
other person can  be.

Opposite,
How stroke of love is?
in situation like that,
just learn to comprehend
after failing to apprehend.
then keep progressing
with your life harmoniously.
It is not good to force heart
in some wrong thing it cold - shouldered.

Premium MemberThree Best Deceased Ps Poets For Me

Dear friend and poetess Connie Wong
wrote poetry as lovely as a song.
Reading others’ poems was her passion.
If words were clothes, she was always in fashion.

Sweet Carolyn Devonshire
was a poetess many could admire.
So generous was she
and also a good friend to me!

Sir David Austin, simply called Daver.
With me, his free verse was always in favor.
He joked that he was very old.
But it’s no joke his poems were gold!

Dec. 8, 2022
for Sotto Poet's Who Is Your Best Ps Poet Or Poetess Poetry Contest

Note: Sadly, I have no clue how I could ever find a picture of dear Daver.
I had to get the picture of Carolyn off the FB page of Constance La France. although I am sure Carolyn showed me a few recent photos before her death about two years ago, right now it's all I have. I will try to track a more recent one down! I decided to do my clerihews on deceased poets since there is no way I could ever narrow down my three "best" from the poets active here today!

Out On a Limb

Ok I am going to trot this one out once again
not knowing if it will be better received than
When it flopped in Peoria.

I love to hear people laugh.I love to have a part in making people laugh.Sometimes I get carried
away in that pursuit.

Once while talking on the phone to my oldest sister
and hearing her little giggle I retold a joke
my brother the crass master had told.

Granted it was borderline yet bizarre enough
that it would not offend I believed

You be the judge......Hey Deloris I said did you hear about that guy that died while eating fresh mountain oysters? No,in a voice of concern she said. Yeah, seems the hog drug him through a barbed wire fence............silence.......more silence
Yet still more s....... well you get the picture.

I don't consider myself to be a heathen but then this stuff happens.

Don't know exactly what she found off color about it.Feel free to clue me in.I never asked her about it
as her infinite silence was all the chastising I can handle in that regard. So shoot me a line kids,Set me straight. Should I cull this one for good?

Premium MemberI'M Not Done Yet

These days death looks better than freedom
Better yet maybe death is my only freedom
My only friend
Sometimes I feel like I'm dying faster than most
And I'm ok with that but should I be
Normalizing the abnormal just to feel what they portray life to be
When should I be living for me
Don't get stuck trying to make copies at Kinko's
When you're a blank canvas
You are the artist, so they won't get the picture
The camera they use is out of date
But you always have fresh paint
Blending the past with the future to make something great
My past doesn't define me
But it is what started how I came to be
Killing myself used to be, the best option
I'm no actor so this can't be a tragedy
I'm an artist
I'm a work of art
Worth more than they can pay
Priceless
Just like today
This moment is something no one can take away
Death will just have to wait
p.s. God still has something for me...

Premium MemberRain

One rainy afternoon as I was driving
Taking precautions necessary when the roads are wet and slick
Suddenly, a thought occurred to me, what thought, you ask
The rain is like sin!

The windshield wipers are like God wiping our sins away
The rain continues to come, what does that tell you?
We keep on sinning and God keep on forgiving us
Whenever I turn on my wipers, remembering the thought

Funny how we worry more about what people think of us
Rather than what God thinks of us
To see the rainbow, first you must endure the rain
The water will flow when you get the picture

If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it
When you experience happy moments, praise God
When you experiencedifficult moments, seek God
When you experience quite moments, worship God
When you experience painful moments, trust God

Premium MemberAttempting To Capture a Pink Sky

a pink sky pinker than any other sky I’ve ever seen
no one will believe it I thought so I took photos
One after another, but none could hope to capture it
For it was more than three dimensional, it was surreal dimensional
I gave up after the sixty-eighth disappointment

It looks cold out there my husband said, snuggled in his Lazy-Boy.
It is, I agreed, but worth it for it is so beautiful.
I thought you were not supposed to go out because of your asthma
I have a little doctor’s excuse about that because it is true.
I am not able to breathe well in less than thirty degrees

I went out anyway, and I stayed out
Trying to get the picture
Which I never got
Because this is
the pinkest
sky in the world
and I am that
photographer.

Premium MemberAttentive Wife

hips swivel, i shimmy
over to spouse,
my finger seriously
pointing at him,
sure sparkling eyes.

my pointer aiming
his way, wanting
its way with him.

my darling’s attention,
intentionally on me -

my lips close in
on my lover,
i sing,
“i want you…”

mindfully pointing
at him,
my finger taps
onto my wrist,

“...to tell me what time it is.”

i smile. i wink.
i’ve been playing
with him.

he’d reminded me
that work’s shortly -
we’d been watching
‘70’s Dean Martin Roast.

you get the picture -
i had fun with him,
the roast’s on him.

A Princess and a Lake

A princess and a lake

There is a green valley with a waterfall in the back
Ground, well you get the picture, it also had a castle
Where the princess cried and cried, because
The prince had an affair with the scullery maid
She only stopped crying when the maid was banned.
The princess`s tears were not spilt a beautiful lake
Strewn with rose petals and full of dreams.
It was free for all to fish, but you were stuck with
The dream you caught.
A variety of dreams, sweet, sour, unmentionable
Vanity dreams and everything in between.
Dreams have consequences; mine was to meet
A scullery maid and when I did, we had to leave
This happy valley.

Hollywood

The part calls for someone not you
Welcome to the audition. Sit down
We are almost through
It is a feature film about the future
You are both short and tall Mr. Smith
How do you do that?
I'm afraid you are too medium too
That won't do
Media or mediocracy are not the issue
No race, color, creed or people needed
The scenes require a new special look
The absence of you for starters
Tell me Mr. Smith why did you apply?
Is it for pride, glory, money and fame
To be on the map? Pretty girls perhaps?
This is Hollywood
What is your story? Why did you come?
We were looking for something less you
More along the lines of silver machinery
Listen. I'm busy. My people will call yours
We'll do lunch shortly for sure or maybe not
Do you get the picture Mr. Smith?
Sorry. It's taken by a robot with connections
Electrical components are the in thing
I would show you the door
But my time is precious
You look like a smart fellow
Good day. See you again...never

Love or Wishful Thinking on Valentine’s Day

Too long have I lived with this fantasy
Lost love’s ardent knight on white horse, get the picture?
From hope’s gilded tower, breezes carried my kisses.

If that dreams could just return these kisses,
But I’m old enough to recognize fantasy.
Each year his face grows harder to picture.

With stained glass memories, I create a new picture,
One in which there are no incoming kisses,
Not even those from a child inclined toward fantasy.

-- Fantasy’s picture ran out of kisses.
