Premium Member bull frogs magic lily pad

Bull frog trained his lily pad like a magic flying carpet ride
It took him in and out the trees, giving berth very wide
Sometimes he rode it to outer space to see Jupiter and Mars
They also landed once a week on an asteroid near the stars

The Big Splash on Lily Pad Lake

Five little frogs hopped
down to the lake,
To see what a splash their
webbed feet could make.
The biggest from jumped
 With a terrible bound,
And scattered the lily pads
all way around.
While the rest swam away
without making a sound.

Green Tree Frogs

Another nightly ascent up the stairs towards my solitary bedroom.
Slightly tainted with opiate night perfumes, glistening green totems await;

O souls beyond the time before time was time,
Is there a bright future ahead?
Only the note of B flat spills out of nocturnal batrachian depths.

Strange birds are howling and the black river is almost comatose across the road.
There is a mauve, antediluvian horror clinging to my window pane.

Green tree frogs, watch my sleep as I turn into a star;
I rest in the abode of Orion and my body melts into sweet smelling lilies,
Keep your sorceries around me like green jade amulets,
Trace your rainwater sigils around my bed,
Leap into my dreams and teach me your purple magics.

O pleasures of the nightside borderland,
O silly little green things.

The Pretty Moon!

In calm springy night,
The beautiful moon up there
Silent is lulu.
Yet, the two old gorillas,
Some ugly frogs make noisy

A QUIET POND

Quiet living pond,
Teaming with its watered lives,
Sits in wet silence:
Ducks and the lily pad frogs,
In stilled pond contemplation:-

If I ever find my mind in a smog from heaven
Or ever blind as a frog in an earthen oven
I’d hop my hump back down to earth
And finally fix my ass, for what it's worth

Real heaven can exist in the commotion of a threshold
Reckon if you can and resist the devotion to what you’ve been sold
Through faith we create those things which brings us to believe
True faith will negate the strings on our wings we can’t perceive

I like the crazy notion that every day is nowadays today
I live this lazy devotion that times are eternally now this way

Push my timid tush up to the threatening door
Mourn the twitching toad on the rainy road
who cannot embrace the face of the killing floor.

Before Easter

A late March thundershower floats toward me
Like a plucked flower
Handed over on a walk to a lover
With a smile

Down this afternoon path
That breezes past
Spring-born ponds
Erupting
Of Peepers ululating and Chorus Frogs ratcheting
In a wave of Gnawa music.

The surface
Puckers
Diacritic raindrops
Slowly
Softly

Each plop and their purple ripple
Has not enough splash
To generate an echo

From the reedy shore.

The storm not so strong to hide the sun
For long
To move a wind
Or slice the sky with lightning

Rolls by with quiet thunder
Wetting my hair and all the early blossoms.

My spirit lifts while its shadow stoops
Cups the mud.

This gentle stir
Today
Seems to awaken and nudge the air
Just enough
To take His hand
Away

Sets free
The spring Dove
From his fist

Writes its wings in a mist

Changes his mind from Him to Her.

Premium Member ECHOES OF THE LAKE

Trumpet-like lilies by the lake
preen for the flamboyant flamingo,
sifting through the murky waters,
searching for algae and shrimp
where crawdads click and clatter.

While silvery fish glide stealthily
leaving barely a ripple behind,
a chorus of frogs’ croaks
echo like the whining twang
of a plucked banjo string.

Dragonflies skim the water’s surface
as their translucent wings shimmer
like gems in the sunlight,
dart about the amaranth lilies
waltzing in the summertime breeze.

Variant Frogs

the moon shines above
yet variant frogs make noise
around the calm pond

For friends and folks of foolish forests' frogs!

Darkness deals with your dusty dirty wares,
Shadows shine, shimmering in sheering sears,
Stars twinkle topmost on the tossing trees,
To crisply cuddle the blistering breeze.

Fearless forests friends forbid foolish spies,
Listen long, lively laughter lifts no lies,
Even evenings eager to call you fools,
And shame the sour scents of your playing pools.

Ban any boot of blame from your long legs,
Many mysterious mouths mock your eggs,
Hidden hearts hum horrible haunting hymns,
While their fears for you fret on fragile limbs.

Godly ghosts guests fought fetish friends and folks,
Fresh fears then froze your frantic frenzy croaks,
Marring you from making mendacious cry,
While waiting where the worst will walk you by.

I hear and see frogs
Chattering on wet bed rocks
As I passes by.
