Along the path way
Side where there frat huts
Arrayed in neat line
First TED afternoon
Of this year to home
While alone walking
Under fine sunset
Bye bye for now TED!

*My Toladas Collection
My fountain pen found its way,
onto the internet,
it was a transformative process,
for both ink and blood.
There were thousands before me,
many talking in a strange language,
of signs, signals, and digital squiggles,
a code I had to break.
The nib of my pen broke
its golden crown.
My fingertip's had to study
how to not blunder,
like a bull elephant
into a wide-open frat house.
Slapping words down
onto this new plastic virtuality
I crashed through,
pages of self-deleting paper,
struggling to compute
the mysteries of 'write' and 'send'.
Daily I had to deal with this,
almost psychotic urge
to shove my thoughts onto
a seemingly infinite white wall,
hoping I was not,
just going to splash stuff on it,
only to run away.

Listen with tired ears
To the ebbing and flowing,
Dancing and dying,
Waves of
Sound and silence
Of the music
From the frat house party
Growing quiet,
Sober enough,
Every time the singing of
Cop cars
Is heard above the screaming night.
Saturday nights I remember
were bad in September
even worse in November
On campus, roving mobs and gangs
looking for girls to get drunk and then bang
In dorms, wise fools dropping LSD
screaming, trying to deal with reality
Frat boys throwing furniture through window glass
Mooning, blowing farts, and lighting the gas...
College days: The 'best years of my life' these hardly were
~ On my generation and me, an ineradicable slur
Just in case you're wondering:
I attended Dartmouth College
in 'Hangover, NH' from 1968 -
1972... 6 years later, 'Animal
House' was filmed there, not
surprisingly.
(*This piece may have a limited audience - but don’t ALL my pieces??*)
Some of the best advice from my Fro-Co (seniors who volunteer as freshman advisors):
If you’re stuck in your room (due to the pandemic) open the windows.
Exercise every day - outside if you can (pandemic).
YOU, ain’t ALL THAT. Get used to it - maybe you were hot-crap in high school - but not HERE. You got a 1590 SAT and a 34 ACT score?
Congratulations, you’re one of the average students.
Never, ever, EVER miss a class (as a freshmen).
Visualize your morning the night before and GET UP EARLY.
Time management - TIME MANAGEMENT - TIME MANAGEMENT
Complete assignments as soon as you can.
You’re going to have 4 to 6 hours of homework every night - STUDY
Procrastination will kill you - STUDY
Go to events - be social - but leave early. “Popularity” isn’t important here - this isn’t high school.
Don’t expect to meet besties right away.
Don’t go to frat parties alone.
Hookup culture can be toxic.
Don’t date seniors - just don’t.
Never get a razor cut, your ends will split.

Seat Taken
“Seat taken?”
Asked Jamal as he entered the first unfilled pew.
The lady looked at him and wondered if he knew.
Why is this young man here?
What could be the occasion,
An African American in a White congregation?
The usher quickly came near.
“Will you please move down dear?”
Once again Jamal asked the question, a frat “initiation.”
Anticipating their 3pm meeting,
Having filled this stage of his “subjugation.” His question he restated,
“Seat taken?
Pirates were known for their notorious acts of
This or that.
I learned while traveling the seas
That they were A mean frat
With an endless rum vat
Which got them in to all kinds of troubles on their
Journeys.
Pirates were known for their notorious acts of
This or that
The worst one was a tit for a tat
On whoever was the appointee
In the government at the time got the full
Attention of the frat.
Usually it was some fat bureaucrat
Who was trying to do something on the QT.
Pirates were known for their notorious acts of
This or that
Yet, Once in a while they would slip up and expose
A government rat
Who got their large chest of bootie
Which the frat
Lost out on. Drat!
So much for being good time to sail
Off in to the sunset on to their next spree.
Pirates were known for their notorious acts of
This or that
They were a mean frat.
The Trickster
Trickster is my polite name for a phisher or scammer
Guys that should be caught and put in the slammer.
I thought I was smart and never got fooled
Falling for one of their money grabbing tools.
But Public Clearing House said I won
One hundred and fifty thousand dollars and that's quite a sum.
Yes, my name was on the list that I won the lot.
All I had to do was pay the tax before receiving the pot.
They gave me the tax agent's name and address
It seemed to easy I must confess.
So I checked with PCH to see what they had to say
They said they don't contact winners that way.
Then who sent me this mischievous crap?
It had a picture of an old brother from my college frat
I sent a message to him to see if he was the one?
Could tell it was not he, but we had lots of fun.
Why is Catrina so fake?
She is like a snake.
She attracts all men,
Especially ken.
Why is Catrina made of plastic?
Her personality isn’t fantastic.
She has more than one friend,
But by next year, it will end.
Why is Catrina so mean?
She always cause a scene.
She is like a doll
That has no life at all.
Why is Catrina a brat?
She once dated a frat.
She also kissed a teacher;
I heard that it happened under the bleacher.
Why does Catrina Lie?
Is it because she will die?
Everyone hates that she is fake;
She is gonna drown in the lake.
Why did Catrina go in the park?
Maybe it’s because ken told her to come in the dark.
Since her life was so plastic,
Her death was a classic.
plus or minus today on a cumulus of clouds keeping me from the stars
from my sofa I can do anything it's amazing
the puzzle of life coming in a grid of ain't
isn't awesome the oer of over the top
flap your wings dear
you were right
I did
guess what
I feel a breeze
and take a soar above the firmament
now on a plane i am still for a minute turning to an hour
egad gee drat I never belong to a frat but know the alphabet
so I leave to figure the value of zero and ten fingers as if twelve i'll be a druid
If we are a breed of beings,
Species of like doings-
In the Milky Way
Why not be that today?
Have I turn a bat
Lost my light of the frat
Or a Braconid
To my kind?
Why the abrupt repellency
To the unfolding literacy
How will I feed my stance
Upon the extinct of other hands?
Why the weighed loathsome
The infinite gruesome
Of my phylum-
Within my kingdom?
What's with the conscription,
The circumscprition-
Of liberty
Stamping it in entirety?
What's with the thirst of a fuehrer,
The ***** conceit of the other-
To weightily parti pris
And indulge in an hostility spree?
Can I not be mindful of the Scythrops,
Make of their trait crops,
That will acculturate
Rather than berate?
Can I not be for the domain,
My essence extended to the terrain,
Express compassion without pain
And adore for no gain?
Instead, I lushed
To hike mass agitative state,
That deludes the mind
Of my kind-
To prey on their own.
This march is over
each bipolar attacks
got all attention;
only, its been too long
pain of cold lingering.
I'll be your shoulder
I'll hand you coat of wool
I'll fan each hot fear
and when hope is lost, march
so forecast brings calm view.

There was a dreadlocks Jah man
called Dennis
He changed his name to Ratty
He never takes the same paths with cops, nor need their help,
because he knew how to plant and sell his weed crops successfully well
He hardly moved with his mates,
because he is always high in faith
He never liked having his bath,
because he hates feeling slippery like a sweating bat
He didn't know maths,
but he always sat and frat in his mat,
while he smoked down jumbo marijuana with his fat pocket friends
He didn't know how to play long tennis,
but he had a very long tennis man hood
And the Genesis of his love, started with a white girl,
called Jennis,
He admired her so dearly,
because of her skimpy outfit
and she also knew how to play long tennis sexy well
But she always ran far from him,
because she only knew how to play with short tennis man hood
and she is a semi-virgin,
who doesn't want a man with such long tennis man hood, which was almost the size of her long tennis bat,
to travel up north, through her virgin Atlantic private part
So she hid and ran continuously,
in order not to get ugly drilled by a long tennis bat
This is the story of Ratty, the cannabis preacher…
