“death approaches but we have no regret ~
when God questions us, we will stand erect”
When Death resolutely comes
With his deadly summons
Tarry not like a galley slave
But like a courteous host behave.
Do not waver and do not droop
As if you are to be hung on a loop
Never dread lying under the dust
Within the narrow vault thrust.
When God questions us, let us stand erect
Our life should be worthy that we won’t have any regret
Obey God’s command and place Him above all
Love your neighbour with all your heart and soul.
If so, when ousted out of terrestrial space
We will be enfolded into God’s embrace
Know, it is only when seeds rot
That fresh and florid lives sprout
When death comes and it’s time to go
Strut like an indomitable foe
With swinging hands and head held high
To be welcomed by angels of the sky.
There will be the music of clanging cymbals
And the rising rhythm of sounding bells
With all claim, into a kingdom, bright and cheerful
We shall enter, that is far radiant and blissful.

They bloomed together
within the same state of mind
though separated
by zones of time.
Sultry words sprouted
sprig-like inklings flourished
as they bound each other
to a burgeoning erotica,
yo florid images.
O such efflorescence!
O how the swelling vine
can cling and clutch
at far distant hearts,
sadder yet the perfidy
of too hungry a need,
for indeed
he also tendered
to many other female offshoots,
and she herself was a veritable
Venus Fly Trap.
In such a way,
they wove their sensual spells,
a hothouse sorcery
doomed
never to be close enough
to ever take root.

She picked his poetic flowers
Her tender hope a crumbly seed
Each morn, in wait to taste his feed
She craved him till eve’s florid hours
In need to sate her stark bowers

There was a great incline of stone, weathered
amongst the sparsely green valley
whose feet lay at the door of a thatched cottage
and whose head I was treading over now.
A fair stream, no wider than a meter,
had had its pulse dried up by the sun
leaving moss strewn on florid rocky deposits,
ran down the length of the valley
transforming eventually into a river that
sent the local watermills cartwheeling
like ecstatic gymnasts.
In one stride I was over,
hopping onto a small ledge
and (rather regrettably) crushing its treasured plant
underfoot.
Springing upwards, I skirted the boundary of the valley
rising doggedly above the craggy edge
and there, waiting in all its recklessness
was the wind.

As she drinks nectar from a flower, sweetness from heaven falls like dew
anointed with a gentle rain amidst sun showers she appears as if on cue
Lifting her wings she lands on a Zinnia beneath a tinted sky of April blue
flight of fancy fanning fast, fabulous marvel, she is beauty true on true
Tis the vernal hour when nature's luster peaks and winter dirges no more wend.
Airy notes from feathered breasts, dutiful drones, bejeweled butterflies ascend.
Upon the indigo daze of an afternoon, my angel in lepidopteran disguise
danced along this florid patch with plush pirouettes, calling "Rose, arise!"
"Still here, a bloom to seek and hold." Groggy, dolt, my petals of discontent...
quiet cold stole my blush, then by cruel degrees, I learned snow's resentment.
But in a sun-lit-breeze ballet, God as big as the butterfly, weighing like nothing
revealed the signs of a world renewed, and ushered me thru the rite of spring.

Your face in the twilight wind
flashed with the dissolved rainbow hues,
radiating the spectrum of your love,
I saw painted on your florid face of splendor,
the petals unfurled on the contours of your smile.
Lest it withered away in the cauldron of oblivion
I kept it framed within the foliage of memory.
In the cradle of the reclined verdant bough,
opulent with the fine filigree of emerald exuberance,
a delicate design I made with love-laced twigs
for the nest of my adoring desire,
I weaved with the finesse of fervor.
On the wings of discontent winter,
wafting in the polar wind of despair
the wilted leaves of my longing
blew away rustling to the hazy realm of nowhere.
Dismal in my frosted nest on the skeletal tree,
I counted in my faint heartbeat
the footsteps of the desolate dusk.
My yearning turned into a glacial embrace,
you escaped from the congealed fold of icy love,
flew away far to the sun-soaked sky.
Forsaken in freezing darkness of the arctic nest,
I live with the petrified feather you left
in the memory lost within a frozen mist.

Headlight humanity;
The cherry-red brake lights,
Becoming florid totality with the things your eyes do to them.
You destructive little thing.
You keep your hands noncommittally at five and eight,
But you use your signal like a well-worn saint,
Because your mother worries, and the passenger seat is still warm.
Your radio buzzes like the wasp nest that used to terrify you
On the wall of your childhood home:
They finally found a cure to the human condition.
Isn’t that great?
We’ve thwarted Mother Nature and all of her gifts—
We’ve put highways over her heart and filled her eyes
With LED cataracts,
And doesn’t she look better this way?
You think you saw her skull hanging on a fence post in Louisiana.
Her voice haunts the parking garage behind the airport,
But her infection
Has been culled.
They finally found a cure to the human condition.
Isn’t that great?

Under the seamless sky of crystalline cosmic sheen
resplendent rays of the mesmeric moon embrace you.
On the sequined waves of the stardust surge I float,
see the luster of your heart in the patina of your eyes.
My dormant desires are enticed to feel enamored
your shimmering radiance in the moonshine, I adore.
Your ballerina eyes dance to the music of longing, I listen,
the cadence fusing with the melody of my resonant heart.
The florid finery of iris flashes in your sapphire eyes,
glitters with the grandeur of fervent pearls of dainty dew.
Rhapsody ripples in the emerald meadow of my mind,
I hear entranced the concerto of your yearning heart.
In vivacious vale of my mind contoured by your charisma,
I carve an ardent conduit of rapt craving to reach you.
The fervid clouds of my pristine passion melts in a torrent,
make my love for you a cascading stream, I swim.
Flowing with the current of your captivating allure,
my enthralled emotion sails in the bracing bay of bliss,
where your love designs the lilting lattice of stars in my sky,
the shine of its enchanting tinsels I preserve in my heart.

Sunlight or Moonlight - Moonlight on Meadows chosen title 8-21-24
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Moonlight on Meadows
Moonlight lays with meadows
Splashing auroras of platinum mist
On midnight
As lupine enters Luna’s corona
Dressed in veils of silver blue.
Light’s fingertips spread wide
Taking in the silk caress –
Hypnotic lavender and clover.
The silent silver flute song
Parts tangled nests of moonlit shadows
Sinking deeply into the crucible of light
While florid breaths of tuberose,
Leave an argent kiss
In moon pearls of satin dews.
Garlands of scented leaves
Undulate in polar wax and wane
Swaying
Holding close arching moonbows of sterling.
In full splendor of lunar madness
Sweet midnight ambrosias explode
To dust the moonlight and meadows
With crystal bits of silver glitz.
Florid banshees recoiled, neck and hankering sneer.
A succinctly exuberant suggestion when selective.
Came on, fell flat with laconic ornamentation.
A miniature jaunt, interment; glove comparted.
Pin-striped foxtails attuned tune maddening clairvoyants.
Precisely predisposed, wine-flavored latten tobaccos.
A wooden-tipped juxtaposition, stilling waisted.
Bygone midge nonguarded, slunk olive drabbing on bayou.
Thicken handkerchief lightly dabbing brow.
Darkness entrapment, fiat practice gymnastics.
Money management, coinage magnet, honored in mathematics.
Backflipping,
Backtracking,
Backpacking.
Super-Soaker moisture, quickie; quickly, socks on prickly.
Sloped incline, inside Mount Saint Helens' Slip 'n Slide.
renders no features;
a buoyant olive
shouldered above florid wings.
golden halo, open ring.
nature’s schmooze, profound.
deeply saturated midnight
in the labyrinth of the deep.
peacock blush of fancied feathers.
the heart beats
a magnanimous red,
emphatically so,
with corona seeds
like rays of the sun.
Max’s angel in surround sensation
would overwhelm the flesh.
the scent of peak, kaleidoscopic climax, meridian elocution -
an euphoric Eden.
As the early summer air ripples in my meadow,
I see the dance of dulcet patina on dainty petals,
unfurling with the touch of the dawn’s spectrum
the elegant lilies with the gleam of sapphire silence.
The flowers blossom in chromatic ebullience of joy,
look up to the sunburst pallet of the seamless sky,
suffusing its splendor in the essence of their soul,
paint the florid portraits of heavenly surreal beauty .
Celestial shine shimmers with the lavender rhythm,
pulsating in my heart with the mesmeric floral grace.
Preserved in its gloss is the sheen of enticing euphoria,
that turns into flourishing fresco of amethyst allure.
As summer breeze blows silver sequins in satin night,
that floats on the mystique stream of the moonbeam,
I descry the sparkling sky descend in my garden,
as the lilies shine like diamond diadem of sprouting stars.
You cut the rivers in half
bulldozed the banks edge
bristled the green trees
and threw florid ladies into the vetch
your old winkles
falling into shredded paper
your conversation not always edifying
Enchanted by the mirage of florid ecstasy,
the flower in my desiccated heart blossomed
when your charisma drizzled on me
like the soothing rare summer rain of oasis.
The flame of my heart was stoked
by the breeze of the yearning spring.
Flaring beauty of glowing fresco flashed
on the beguiled blushing face of desire.
The wilted petals were dislodged
by the destructive dust storm of desertion.
The split flower saw the dreams in debris,
its shriek was lost in the quietude of desert.
As you drifted away from my stormy horizon,
thunder of torment ripped my forsaken flower.
The broken heart suffering mute pain I protected
for you to hear silence speak in emotive eloquence.
The dazzling dawn lights up my heart’s horizon,
spreads the sensuous spectrum of luring longing
on the gorgeous blooming garden flushed with my love,
swathing the facsimile of your florid face with charisma.
The patina of rose blushes in your sensuous lips,
glittering with the grandeur of charismatic petals.
Rhapsodic wind blows in mesmeric meadow of my heart,
as you become mine, I float beguiled in ether of euphoria.
The sculpted window of your hazel eyes closes
like the folded ornate wings of hypnotic butterfly.
Lattice of onyx eyelashes embroiders lissome lids of eyes,
harboring dulcet dreams in the fathomless sapphire sea.
The radiant cherubic cheeks are subtly caressed
by serenading zephyr suffused with fuchsia blush,
candescent in the amorous aurora of sunburst dusk sky.
Breathless, I etch in my halcyon heart the enticing image.
In my journey in the undulating terrain of life,
through the blizzard in the winter of despair,
and along the valley of flowers in the spring of delight,
by my side I always find you, the precious gift of God.
