With Borrowed Faces in a Place

We are turning around with no faces, 
Just in cases.
Heaven in our places,
Just two faces. 

Screaming out so everyone hears our bases,
 We can't hide our faces.
But truth still chases
Through hidden mazes.

Slow and smoky phrases.
Now we are visible - with our borrowed faces. 
Time erases.
There are no traces.

We are turning

The Phases of Faces

heels spin to worn paths,
mask grimacing yesterdays—
eyes not quite so sure
if this swerve of direction
is up down or whatever

sky stares down the gaze
but chin is still uplifted
as rain lashes face—
challenging storm's resurgence
mirror's stance of defiance

cliff gave no warning
of free-fall rocks in full view,
with no hold to siege
in the up-down tailspin crash—
to pucker up start again

Raindrops On Roses

Raindrops on roses last night,
what a storm it blew.
My garden got a great bath,
looking clean and new.
Roses wanting sun,
their faces are shining up.
Rose garden is done.

Two Faces

Blurred, twisted in a pool of intoxication,
is my first face and I hate the bare controls,
I wish for no black phantom to follow me,
Its a shadow that's always in waiting......

My second face, I aspire to one day be,
its past the intense of burning trees,
and the world stirring up wasps and bees
and the inside out of

MASK OF MANY FACES

Who am I, anyway?

I wear the mask of many faces.
I speak, read, and understand—
sometimes with words,
sometimes telepathy.
My voice changes with my face.

I just need a witness.

Attuned to me, I become every language you know,
but I do not know the geography of my own soul.

I dare not look at my face.
It is a drama mask—
sometimes surgical,

Wearing Seven Faces

Seven faces she wore at different times.
She knew not when each face’s expression
might appear (some rarely; some oftentimes,
giving to others a different impression.)

Horrific abuse caused her mind to split
when she was young. Her main self took back seat
when stressed, but she was not aware of it.
Always she was feeling so incomplete.

The table’s set, the cards are stacked,
Coffee is ready, out come the snacks.
Allana grins, that knowing look—
She’s got Phase 1 like it’s a book.

We start out slow, just laying sets,
But soon the room is full of bets:
“Will she skip me?” “Who's on Phase 3?”
The drama builds deliciously.

A run of four, a colour sweep,
Wild cards hoarded,

Faces I meet

The faces I meet
don't echo the songs
of a love I have sought
for so very long.

FACES OF BETRAYAL

Some hand you smiles dipped in napalm,
Then turn to poison the second you drop your guard.
Humans, Moral plastic caught in flame,
Deals of décor, rotting behind the facade.
Draw your lines, don’t offer the other cheek,
Run before you melt, before their vice seeps in.
Don’t become their reflection in the sewage creek,
Shield your core, gun down their shadowed

when old people talk about their past loves
they don't talk about what it was like when their love left.
they don't talk about the feeling the next morning when all you want to do is call.
they don't talk about how the first week is hell.
they don't talk about how every part of you wants to go

each face as I walk
crowded streets
do they see?
me in them and them in me 
parts of one body

I will hope
for more compassion

this wilderness of mirrors
reflects who I am

The three faces of me

i long for silence
when i can search
the darkened sinews of my mind

i crave solitude
where i can think
and get to what's really in my heart

i love to sit alone
with pen and paper
to extract words of poetry from my soul
