Autumn Lingers

autumn lingers unfinished
though cold drops november
rain and waits undiminished
'til native summer sun remembers
what could unmake
when days full ache
bloom autumn colors
quick winter all borders
golds greens yellows
reds purples browns
a rusted rainbow frowns
as leaves scoot over meadows
fallen from mountain forest
after fields have given harvest
a father of one teaches his son.
chase catching leaves for fun
they twist turn swivel pirouette
lunge leap slide slice 'til earth is whet
while boy staggers with arms stretched
missing while dad knows misdirect fetched
two and three leaves while son fustrated
cries to quit but egged on infuriated
at last by chance or by experience
claps and traps one in victory dance

Buttermorphosis

I recall the rural life of the butterfly
Extravagantly —that proud floating mass of wings.
Her wings flutter from sea to coast so eloquently,
Yet silent with the muteness of frightened breeze.
They are banners with buntings of newness — striped,
Spotted, arched, dotted.
Her flamboyant life history, reading it backwards,
Is an exhibition of time and cosseted patience....
The winged one, aged and tried, schleps to the stirs of a narcoleptic pupa,
Hanging on the banisters of a dear larva who's egged on to
Run the full circle and announce the mating time and a most
Fragile conception.

Whispers To Death

I hear you calling my name.
You almost had me already.
There is no shame.
Slow and steady.
You are not tame.

I come intrigued.
I see a dark figure.
Your words are egged and leave me fatigued.
You want to see a transfigure.
Though you are leagued.

There are plenty of you.
This is not your mind.
There is no breakthrough.
No way to bind.
This leaves me blue.

It should have been.
The grave is not the final destination.
The proof is my skin.
You will go through castration.
I can't help but grin.

Swaying grasses taunt the meadow
Egged on by a chilling breeze
Silently the stealth of an owl
Toys with the shimmering moonlight
As dark wings dance across her face
Grey wolves lurk amid the cold stones
A tinge of fall on the meadow
Final cut will start at daybreak
The loud smell of diesel’s warning
Alerts the meadow’s populace
The meadow’s moonlight did not lie

I had only just heard that UK cheese was revolting.? Not mildewed or slimy which could be
Insulting? No.! even the cheeses have it seems had enough of that quyeer kahmer
Nonsense and stuff.' It seems they're egged on by mother goose? Probably a code name
If what I hear is truth? The thing all got started because of some cows Daisy and Ermentrude
Were insulted and how..? This angers all cheeses! the Leicesters are mad red.' And some real Tough chedder is about to shed, its cool staid image before all is said.' As sure as
Grass makes hay.' And cows our milk, we need un-tarnished cheeses not some man made
Filth.' Yes cows have farted.. And will again' and humans grew strong and repulsed some pains the
Products great' its allways been green.) Like the farmers fields a beautiful scene..Yet over to
The cheeses.' Who are on the roll.' They want to escape from (old kahmer's) intended gaol
I think this cheesy battle could come true.? Here's trusting to human acumen though it's another way to get
Through.'

the fable of Jesus

The Fable of Jesus
Jesus was skeptical of his tribe, he didn't
whether he was a Semite, his father, the renowned
the wood craftsman had green eyes and knew
a few phrases of gallic monks had visited until
the Rome administration banned them
Jesus, to please his father, built a bookshelf, it was
It was so bad his younger brother had to take over
Jesus took umbrage and moved to Jerusalem, where
he hung out with radicals of his time
he was good at talking and soon became their leader
there are a few girls in Jesus's fellowship
one of them was Magdalene who had the hots
for Jesus, tall and elegant back in his youth
Jesus became famous when he threw moneylenders
out of the church, many more people joined his flock
He thought he was powerful and took on
the Rome colonial administration and arrested
they mocked him and gave him a crown of thistles
egged on Haiku

y the hateful priests, was crucified
During the night, women got him down from
the cross, hid him in a cave till his wounds healed
A fisherman called Peter smuggled him and
Magdalene to France
they had seven children, and he ended his days
as respected goldsmith

Dad went to work on an egg each day
Til one day the egg cracked on the way
Pants covered in yolk
It was not a joke
That his colleagues egged him on, all day.

Dad had an egg every single day
He wouldn't have it any other way
Til he got egg bound
And suddenly found
That he was clucking the day away.

Daddy was fond of his eggy bready
Every morning mommy got it ready
One day she was late
Much to her distaste
He ran off with merry leggy Peggy.

Daddy asked a barmaid for an eggnog
She thought that he was asking for a snog
She took him outside
And to her surprise
He said I was asking where was the bog.

All i wanted

All i wanted was to say sorry. Then he moved and that's okay. I mean I totally
didn't want to say something to like my world's biggest crush no no. but now I know that some kids in my class decided to vandalize his house while on vacation like they broke the windows they left the bath running they egged it and for what for pleasure for kicks i don't know but at least i know i was not my fault.

Eagles fly

Minds soar

While Eagle flies
soaring off ahead
echoing upriver cries
to where s/he became
back before

Egged on
Eagles fly

Fertile minds soar...

Prophets who walked on earth,
each affirmed the same truth,
that God in-dwells within
cave of our glowing heart,
felt if we’re free from sin.

Prophets who walked on earth,
pointed out to conscience,
being the voice of God
steering us towards light,
with which each child is awed.

Prophets who walked on earth,
sought not to form a cult
but their words distorted,
sadly cause prejudice
by beliefs contorted.

Prophets who walked on earth,
said love alone’s real,
all else a thought construct
egged on by our ego,
which must now self-destruct.

Pat-A-Cake Pat-A-Cake

“You have to get a job, my son,
Your mother and I agree.
You can’t spend your life just loafing around,
Sponging on her and me.”

And, although it went against the grain,
I realized I must.
So I got a job as a baker
To earn an honest crust.

My father and mother egged me on
And, to make sure I wasn’t lazing,
They bought me an alarm clock,
So I could be self-raising.

I made the occasional bloomer,
As anyone new might have done.
I forgot to turn the oven on
And invented the cold cross bun.

My rich fruit cake was sometimes poor;
My sponge cake sometimes flat.
But now I have the hang of it,
I’ve got it all off pat.

I’m really on a roll now,
Forever on the go.
I have to keep on working,
Because I kneed the dough.

The War An Opinion

The war
The war in Ukraine is getting serious
but could easily be avoided.
Russia cannot tolerate a NATO close to its border
the USA, understand this
When the Russians had missiles in Cuba (1962)
the USA thought it was too close and demanded
their removal.
As it is we are witnessing is Ukraine at war
egged on by Europe who is such dunderheads
risking a bigger nuclear war.
We are sacrificing the Ukrainian people
for our hubris

In money we believe.
In superstition we trust.
Fill the offering basket
And present yourself for duty.

Preach fire to your Facebook choir
And get your social media fix
With sacramental podcasts and tweets
From the pantheon of agitprop.

Videotape your obsessions
For anonymous voyeurs’ delight.
Let Tik Tok compel your attention
As your mind fills the void it deserves.

Arouse your conspiracy’s fervor
On the way to gaining likes and shares,
While the women and the children
Fall in on the refugee trail.

Soon your ego’s grown bloated
Like those dead army mules
Lying by the side of the road
In a war correspondent’s photo.

If your house gets egged
On the first day of war,
You can expect that escalation
Is just a hand grenade away.

Joy gives herself readily to the masses
They cough and sputter and spit her out
Not willing to accept and cherish her

She is not rebuffed
Tries a multitude of times
Egged on by optimism and hope
