Tripple Checking

Feeling the need to check up
On what is happening in regard to an issue,
Is a sign of Maturity,

Feeling the need to double check it,
Is a sign of a high IQ.

Feeling the need to Trippel check it,
Is a sign of Life experience showing through,
Not one of senility,
That comes when one Checks to see,
IF one checked up in the first place.

Premium Member be to become

before emotes are released
double-check if they’re diseased
born of ego and not light
so pause thought before its flight

God’s touch is felt on our head
in heart mirrored by love led
truth impulse throbs in the throat
as in the void we free float

mindfully practice the pause
that self-aware presence thaws
becoming kind and gentle
vibrant and nonjudgmental

bliss dew drops cleanse heart of dust
whence thus gaining Cupid’s trust
mood and mode embrace-release
we flow with nonchalant ease

breath by breath honing instinct
in time we become love inked
that with ego vaporised
God within is realised

Premium Member I Am Fear

I am what drives anxiety's climb,
stalking darkness, I'm shrouded in shadow.
I was born in primordial slime,
and the more I'm fed, the more I grow,
morphing into terror over time.

I'm what makes you shiver in the dark:
that icy chill that runs up your spine.
I'm the teeth in the jaws of a shark,
and no aura is darker than mine:
a sullied shadow, empty and stark.

I'm the phantom that lurks in the night;
razing hairs on the back of your neck.
I paralyze with a crippling fright
that makes people pause and double-check;
instinctive feelings of fight or flight.

I'm a sound that can summon a tear
with a creak; heard walking up the stairs.
And panic joins me when I appear,
for I am the boogeyman who scares
people of all ages; I am fear.

Premium Member Release

make a plan with zest and zeal
reinforce it with imagination
just before it becomes an obsession
release all desire bubbles in space

having paused the cause of movement
double check for possible after burn
just in case the writhing snake
raises its venomous head

Premium Member Learning curves

Slight bumps in the road to make us stop and double check our work and make us learn from it

Premium Member Desire the jinx

Desire, the jinx, be watchful, heart
Double-check each impulse
Path is simple, add love to cart
Feel within bliss beat’s pulse

Softening attention
Follow love’s suggestion
Release our mind’s tension

We fall, we sink
Desire, the jinx

Time to Die

Wear a wristwatch, for you may die in your sleep,
a timepiece, one with an alarm you can set.
Best not to wake up dead still locked into that last dream,
for sleep is just death pretending to be coy.
Try to dream of being at least partially alive,
aware enough to double-check.
if death is asleep or not.

Walking Distance

In walking distance from my house
Are restaurants a’plenty.
In just a 5 block radius,
There must be more than 20.

There also are a lot of stores –
For food or drugs or liquor
And also several hospitals
(Though cabs get you there quicker).

In walking distance, there is art –
Just choose a cool museum
And Google the exhibits now
Then stroll on by to see ‘em.

You need an outfit, socks or shoes?
A book of stamps? Some flowers?
No matter what, it can be bought –
Just double-check the hours.

A city life has lots of noise
But anyone you talk to
Will tell you that it’s wonderful
To have so much to walk to.

Premium Member Thought of the Day

Within each activity, just be still ~
Double-check if we’re aligned with God’s will

Premium Member Glitch In the Matrix

The Soup is playing tricks on me
Or I am losing what is left
On my grasp on reality
And WhatsHisName’s committed theft.

Time and again, I write a verse,
Submit it to a contest next,
Return to find it gone, or worse,
Imagine holes in my cortex.

I know I’ve goofed a time or two,
I might go high as three or four,
But, Soup, you’ve got a glitch in you
And it’s not one that I adore.

Abecedarian I am,
But steady at this game of late,
By double-check, careful exam
To see my poem through the gate.

On my return on the next day,
I’ll check to see if it’s still there,
And, nope, appears it’s gone away;
A real pain in the derrière.

It’s probably some kind of sign:
Eschew the contests and just write,
But is this problem only mine,
Or have you also had this fight?

Premium Member Thoughts Not So Quick

Thoughts not so quick, as mindful eye
Nipping them in the bud
Desires decry before heart’s sigh
Lest fears stain soul in blood

Double-check, doublethink
Before ego can blink
Love’s indelible ink

Jiu-jitsu trick
Thoughts not so quick

Premium Member -Teabag Sign

You loved your cup of tea with honey
Well known for it in your time
We laughed about when you passed
You would leave me a “teabag sign”

When you left we all encountered your visits
In the form of a little black and white bird
No sign of a random teabag
Unfortunately, ever occurred….

He who has loved me always
Gave me the little bird made of wood
A position of pride of place
Is where this little bird stood

Woke up early one morning
Had to do a double check
There was my little bird
With a teabag around his neck!

He who has loved me always…..

Gotcha

The orange juice was being sold
At quite a nifty price.
I bought a few containers,
Feeling proud, not thinking twice.

But something made me double-check,
Since looks would not suffice,
And that is when I noticed
What I don’t think’s very nice.

Each orange juice container,
Looking normal, to entice,
Was a bunch of ounces smaller,
So I offer this advice:

When a bargain is presented,
You can always roll the dice,
But from corporate America,
There’ll be no sacrifice.

It Boggles the Mind

They put up a sign on the highway
Which pointed the way to a bridge,
Replacing the prior one, thinking
Perhaps it improved things a smidge.

But yikes! No one bothered to proofread;
The name of the bridge was misspelled.
If I were the person in charge, well,
They’d censor the words I’d have yelled.

It boggles the mind to imagine
How something so stupid occurred.
A double-check would have made certain
Such nonsense would have been deterred.
