Evening

Evenings chill lingers
into the blue light
a wayfarer of fine form
dolefully finds himself

A listless man wishes
on brazen stars
burning deep into his dreamy glare

Against the dark elm
the form of a boy is seen
it prevails amongst the darkened skies
He is his own master
forging his destiny

The Mill Town House

Grandfather's house, knocked to the ground - to dust:
The windows wept when the bulldozer came
Timeworn and dirty and wheezing black smoke,
Just like the drab mills where grandfather moiled.

Children play in the intriguing debris
Where, once, children played on the garden path,
Where grandfather told stories of past things
And the children listened wide eyed, in awe.

The door remains standing, creaking, ajar,
As it yawns in the twilight of the gloom
And the children knock though no one answers
So, they run away for, why should they stay?

Abandoned now, no one, near here, comes by
Except myself in the patience of night
As I tap on the door, though softly now,
Grandfather answers and dolefully smiles.

The Jilted Seeks Again

-The Jilted Seeks Again-

When my fortunes tilted,
I was by my winsome love jilted.
And my heart heavily bled;
Happiness and half my life fled-
Dolefully, I cooed like a dove.

But after a spell so long,
I hear echoes of an inner love song,
And on another quest
Will I venture and knock as guest
On the bolted door of Love.

My bodily inclinations are beckoning
And I am reckoning,
“Why did I waste my time trying,
And crying;
Tears never once at all drying,
For some love that was long dead?
Tortured my head,
Listening to an inner voice, lying
That I keep vying-
That knot we would be tying?”

That time when I was jilted,
I tried to revive a love long wilted;
I tended, lured and begged.
Each day, my odds, lower pegged.
Dolefully, I wooed like a dove.

Now my soul sings a song
As I look for love that lingers long.
After my emotional looting,
I am frail, but I will find firm footing
On the slippery slope of Love.

Tear-stained envelope, left by the deceased,
Sorrowful words inscribed to whomever,
Expressed dolefully by our local priest,
Tender dove, thought she would fly forever,
Artist, pianist, songstress and clever,
Despondency plagued, her records had shown,
Hanging caused her death, physically known,
Though her mental state is what had killed her,
Her recent breakup, she said o'er the phone,
It remained hard for her to recover.

Vengeful Revenant

Oh, there are some hurts that nobody reckons
when a rush of rage, pain and revenge beckons
about a wanton act of mayhem and spiteful action,
In the silent nights it beckons, oh how it beckons
belying my irenic ideals, beliefs and just conviction.

Hesitant and much fretful I stood at the threshold
of a cordoned off bloodstained room, dolefully cold,
at this time a most dismal of moments and piteous
to wrap my head around this grim spectacle I behold,
My beloved and I lay bleeding—murders most vicious.

To find the one who committed this dastardly act
I vowed to exact vengeance, unravel one sole fact—
Towards my wife’s unfaithfulness was my hostility
It’s I who staged this scene of murder-suicide pact,
my suspicion was not without merit of her infidelity.

A Mother's Goodbye

A Mother's Goodbye

She clutched the triangular fold
of white stars on a blue field
as she stood on the hallowed ground.

She sang dolefully, with a reverence
that shaped the tremulous tone
of her weary, aging voice.

Her song was thinned by despair
yet was thickened by the memory
of all the years of his youth.

The words drifted on her voice
like curling leaves on the water
of a swirling, muddy creek.

The damp forest absorbed
the resonance of her lyrics,
as if fearing an echo might offend.

When her song ended
its mournful cry was answered
by the plaintive trill of a meadowlark.

She knelt and touched the stone
marking her warrior's place in eternity,
and whispered goodbye to her son.

Shadow

You

                                              seldom

                                     appreciate me and

take for granted; Oh I am

always here. my presence is never

missing. Unjustly I may not always be where

you want me implanted. Readily I mark the passage

of time ,never dismissing. Sadly I am forever a coward and a

traitor. Hold my traits, whether good or bad. Also I was with you

alongside the creator;Dolefully I pledge my allegiance till your end I might add.

On and on you continue with your disregard,

                                      While I sit complacent amidst

                                                 your vanguard

The Charlatans

With a load of worries on your shoulders
You dolefully trudge on your path of life
Evading any ditches or impeding boulders
craving for a life free of stress and strife.

But then someone cuts right in front of you
Shoves his faith in your face and his views
And wouldn't let you be even on cue,
Sadly but the pestering just continues.

And for the fact, since the beginning of time
Priests and politicians have come and gone,
Yet mankind has kept on with his crime
So why not leave politics and religion alone?

That’s when I go crazy with a machete,
Hold me tight for I can’t stand steady,
Like to shred those goons like spaghetti...
Ha, I am shuddering with rage already!

Sonnet To Our Love

The verse runs down the stream
Dolefully, paintings your
Soulfully, I’m intrigued
Severely, like my cat!

The music resonates
Painfully, story your
Disdainfully, we talk
Sinfully, like the moon!

Your love drips wet like rain
Silently, our love-making
Violently, we now stare
Intently, at each other.

Intensely, let us kiss now,
Fiercely, like the sun!

-Pin Dew (02/05/2017)

Note: Experimental Sonnet- The rhymes and para-rhymes are inside the poem, and the meter is Iambic Trimeter.

The Hustlers

With a load of worries on your shoulders
You dolefully trudge on your path of life,
Evading any ditches or stray boulders
Craving for a life free of stress and strife;
But then someone cuts right in front of you
and shoves his faith in your face and his views
And wouldn't leave you be even on cue,
Sadly the pestering just continues.
Ha, since before the beginning of time
Many seers and prophets have come and gone,
Yet mankind has kept with the sins and crime—
Why not leave religion and God alone?
That’s when I just go mad as a hornet
And feel like gutting them with a hatchet!

Premium MemberIt Was Hidden In His Lunchbox

I wrote my hubby a little note and this is what it said
Be home early tonight, I’ll be waiting in our bed
I put it in his lunchbox and sent him on his way
Hoping he’d be home early so I would get a lay

The day passed by so quickly and I was ready for some action
Put on my favourite negligee to spice up the attraction
But hubby was nowhere to be seen and I was feeling sad
Wondered what had happened – hoped it wasn’t anything bad

Hubby came in at normal time by then I wasn’t in the mood
Didn’t you find my message I shouted I felt like being rude
Message he said what message, and then I explained
He looked at me dolefully his face was looking pained

He’d put his lunchbox in the fridge and left it there till lunch
Grabbed it out the fridge and on sandwiches he did munch
His colleague had an identical one I guess they got wrong box
Hubby said his mate was like a greyhound of the starting blocks

I Appeal Me'Lord

I APPEAL ME'LORD
Litigations against me
Carnal sins counted thrice
Insanity, sterility, concubines-
Concocted, hence
Baseless.
I can sing,
ëEvery night in my dream
I see you, I feel you
Thatís how, I know you
My heart will go on, far across the distance
And spaces between usí,
Celine on cape, dolefully.
I pray on my knees
My daughter, my blood
Honest to wedlock.
I read with reverence,
ëAsathoma Satgamaya
Thamasoma Jyothirgamaya
Mrithyoma Amrithamgamayaí.
My Pranam to Sun,
ëLet your rays be my guideí.
Plaintiff and accusations-
Why, why, I falter
Falsification of life
Pushing me, a muscle storm
Perched on unreachable heights.
I appeal Me'Lord
No bats with wickedness
No crooked defamations
No fake witnesses
Creep to your desk.
Let her place before You
Cool !!! CoolÖÖÖ
Her wish to move to poles different
Separation
Lift the pendency.
My flesh trembles,
Iím afraid of judgements.
I bow my head
Put my thumb.
Shower justice to see my daughter
Once in a year,
X-mas eves
When reindeers draw sledge
When Santa calls
My child and me
At our door-
I succumb
I yield
I fix my thumb
On my fate
I yield ÖÖ

Eventide Strolled Down the Hills

Dolefully the eventide strolled

Down the hills leaving

Scintilla of hues on horizon

Then yielding to night's decree

 owls hooted in unison

Forlorn fowls sought refuge in groves,

Stray dogs tired of full day's gambolling

searched for shelter,

Gophers still sauntered in far off farms

Groping for grains unaware of the wild cats

Awaiting them in perfidious furrows-

A lone beggar on footpath ate crumbs of bread

He got in alms

Thus the busy day

Its varied opulance

In night's loving lap did lay
