Premium Member Archaic Mind

The more advanced the tech devices are
The more archaic is the mind we get to use
I didn’t say that, but just read like Belshazzar
The writing on the wall amidst the booze
I don’t quite understand, although it seems
We’re on a threshold of inevitable changes
They’re coming by, like radiant sunbeams
Tore up the clouds that were gathering for ages
Into the shade I dash out of my cell
What now, another fake deliverance?
Or is it truth this time, you didn’t care to tell
But left me kindly in my blessed ignorance.

Premium Member INTERVIEW WITH LADY METAPHOR

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Prof: Welcome, Lady Metaphor—thank you for joining my podcast today.
Lady M: Sorry, I arrived early; I have a tendency to appear unannounced.  Ask me what you like.
Prof: You haunt our sentences—where do you live?
Lady M: In the space between is and is like.
Prof: Your favorite hiding spot?
Lady M: Behind as if, inside a liar’s pause.
Prof: Some say you’re overused.
Lady M: So is oxygen. Try living without me.
Prof: Any advice for new poets?
Lady M:Don’t chase me. Stand still. I’ll find you.
Premium Member Poetic Devices
In this poem, there lies a fox -
but he's only just two shoes and socks.
Will you be the one
to find a simile to stun,
or will you open up the door
and find a metaphor?
Premium Member Before Devices
   He had something to say
     committed it to memory
   Savored it on the way
     home at the end of the day
   Sat down to write it out
     tears welled up from his heart
   Whatever it was had flown away
     nothing left to do but pray
Premium Member We All Have Devices
We all have devices the eight-year-old happily said.
My whole family plays them through supper until time for bed.
Video games? Sure! I play Farmer Fruity Furlough Fred.
No communication with my family and no books are read.
I’ll Leave You To Your Devices
(Thoughts on Phones)
Tom’s Thoughts
11/5/2021
There was a time, when face meetings were nice,
now, our lives are busy, not enough time does exist.
Seems, most are now married to a hand held device,
and each years new smartphone some can’t resist.
When having Lab work done I’m oft found waiting,
Everyone is on phones, is it games they’re playing?
Watching all this quickly becomes quite sedating,
I’m thankful I don’t hear what each one’s saying.
We’ve become couch potatoes with premature pains,
and engrossed in social media which I find taboo.
Technology is pilfering lives, & affecting our brains,
Internet’s down this week and I’m in a virtual stew.
Dark Devices
Dark devices turn deep inside.
Churning in deep secret places,
Long lost to angel staring eyes.
Hallow and dark stains seep
Into what is and what will be,
All or nothing at all along the ancient hall.
The hum & tick of a well tuned clock…
Of strange arts that turn & burn in deep side.
Feeling oils of strange
fragrance, drifts over & around; thrills me,
Fills me with desire & dread!
In strange devices, dark deep inside…
Where Angels fear to tread…
Dark eyes stare into that void,
A void of soul & nothing old!
I stare deep into my most secret of places,
where my soul is kept,
Deep inside…
Deep…
In black boxes stacked,
Nine by Nine!
Deep in my mind…
Leave Electronic Devices Aside - Enjoy Spring
Oh man! Just go out and see
Nature has created a picturesque symphony
Tree are birthing
leaves
fruits
flowers.
It is green and colourful
Breeze is blowing,
birds are mating,
sun is warm
welcoming
Just shut down your electronic devices
go out
enjoy
Nature is beautiful
Joyous
Flowers are dancing to the beat of wind
Birds are singing melodic music to woo their mates
Watch  exclusively designed butterflies fluttering by
Observe how they drink nectar from flowers
Bumblebee is busy collecting honey.
In trees squirrels can be seen scampering
Watch out for nests,
Small fragile young ones
Featherless beauties
Mother feeds them with her beak
Everything is beautiful
Happy
Celebrating
Sun is pleasant,
Walks are exhilarating.
Watch the changing colours of sun and
Shimmering noon
Unobscured by clouds
Just be out
Don’t sit at home.
Nature is at its best for you to enjoy.
Collect as many wonderful memories as possible.
Life is short
Tomorrow uncertain!
Devices
I want to start with some simple Alliteration
seaside surf in winter is so very crisply cool
(try to fix find and fit some Personification
your wandering mind is a rambling fool).
Assonance very tense, it has much suspense
salty sands please even with winter’s breeze
(suppose I propose musing using Consonance
dismiss this I confess it does not please this).
Then in a Conceit I will write for you just to spite
the wide sea is a cold lover retreating from me.
(then why not Hyperbole? It is a lions’ might
cry a river of tears, I over this poem from thee!).
A Metaphor I have found I can always borrow
a sea of troubles rage for me on this winter morn
(Simile is just as good good today and tomorrow
he is like a bright moonbeam, shining on my scorn).
He does not like my effort here what of my Meter?
I leave the sea; to me I love the oceans’ sweet revelry
(Scansion done you have won a little love sweeter
for undoing moving and removing this piece from me).
Premium Member Mad Inventions
Mad Inventions.
.
We all have lightbulb eureka moments
But some take them to the extreme
How some things are conceived
Could only come from a crazy imagination
And a weird hapless dream
.
Created with good intentions
To find solutions and make life easier
Mindless inventions
Often leave the creator
With a hole in their pocket
And egg on their face
.
They may have seemed a good idea at the time
But specs for dogs and strange machines
Only boggles the mind
.
Who are these people?
Who think they are smart
I hate to judge at least they tried
But how sad when things
Fall apart
.
But without such minds where would we be now
Probably living in caves
And throwing spears
At wild beasts and cows.
.
Millions upon millions, could upset our inner soles
Is there a cure, nope, we're a doomed bunch of trolls
The truthful liar mesmerized no one
Even his most fervent followers fell short.
We watched his interchanges which seemed crazy,
And his bragging and grandiose plans abort.
His love seemed wrapped up in his loving buck,
Stealthy snake-like purport with enemies he would consort.
Boom! He was on the TV. Crash! He threw out a tweet.
Snorting, chortling, boredom ripe for a big red port.
We watched him boast and brag, some disgusted be.
Formative finance foreman finds a forever fort.
Political dissonance turning our country upside down.
Misogynist buffoon yelling fake news as a new sport.
Thy vileness and thy nastiness befouls thyself,
Thy fantasticalselfishness flamboyantly galantort,
Reinforces our mindfulness that being President is just a sport.
Devices Deliver Hordes
Siege by time subdued by repetition. Echoes of Enchantment calling through the sub waves of sub conscience. Opposition inside intuition all the while oblivious in walls of time. The absurd undertones of life, is just a chaos formula with calculations of perfection. With controlled slide inside the wasteland. Intriguingly feeding the f*cking disease by fixated eyes of the observer. Directed by expressions of dementia. Troubadour direct and to find a relentless combination of words. Another coordinated family born and joined beside one another again. As everlasting as the universe. Love's stronger diamonds, loyalty living on just like a Viking love living through eons of rebirth. As everlasting as the universe expressions direct dimensions from dementia defined by intentionally designed by the emotive one.
Remember when couples would sit and gaze into each others eyes?
Remember when you could survive hours on your loved ones' smile?
Remember when you'd talk about your shared desires and past memories?
Remember when you could laugh and giggle on a journey for miles and miles?
Pixels steel the window views
Words are written they're not mooted
Screens fill the travelling mind
Ads, Gifs, Apps is what you find
Immediately IT takes control of you
When your mind could be drifting on natures' view.
