Detain Poems

Detention

Who can detain me?
Unless I allow myself?
It's all right in here...

"The world is God's pure mirror clear to eyes when free from clouds within"Rumi

Yellow sunrise illuminates night sky
It chases darkness away to the west
Goldfinch sent in to feed by Adonai
Each morning, in so many ways, I'm blessed.

Yellow sun behind gray clouds, stillness looms
Will raindrops begin to fall 'pon the ground
Watering the garden, wash pollen, fumes
Clearing earth's air and all nature astound

No lemony peaks between the clouds' gray
There are no flaxen streaks within the blue
An eerie feel upon the air, dismays
Will unrestrained storm pass unhindered through

Yellow sunrise seems to predict no rain.
Prayers do protect us, those storms detain

I Am a Prisoner Here

I am a prisoner here,
Though I have no bars to contain me,
No chains to restrain me,
Nor any crime to detain me.
My only offense is being old,
A fact that frankly
Leaves me cold.
They say these years
Are golden,
But it isn’t so.
How do I know?
You ask, perplexed.
I just do, I answer,
Feeling slightly vexed.
And yet, and yet . . .
Oh let me out,
Let me out, I say!
Out of this prison,
If just for a day.
I’ll be good, I promise I will.
I’ll follow the rules.
I do know the drill!
It may sound absurd
But I give you my word.
I truly have done my time.
Sometimes I wonder if
Anything’s left
But time.

Torture

Whispers in my head I hear it all so clearly
Negativity in my brain bordering on weary
Enemy caught me when I was very weak
Tortured me for the treasure that they sought to seek
Vigil I remained though I admit that they were close
To destroying what I had that was saving me the most
Then I remember in that moment that I am stronger than I think
So I started focusing on the other side of the chain link
It keeps me strong it keeps me sane
It keeps me going it keeps me trained
And so the enemy caught me but I got out of their trap
Now I know where they're hiding I got them marked on my map
You'd think that I'd call out the troops and take them by seige
Arrest them detain them and make them my liege
Treat them like dirt torture and maim
Paybacks a and all for my pain
But thats not how I roll for if I did I'd be them
Blood on my hands brazen in sin.

A bright crisp day, gray clouds could not detain;
At once toddle arm-in-arm the distance.
Whisk away with a quick light steady rain.
Fruit set, new growth, leaf and shoot existence.
Marigold starts to bloom, love's insistence.
Butterflies swarm; all different colours,
Across the garden with all the others.
Spring-summer rain, flickering gray shadow,
Blow the birds about with their small brothers.
Rainbow hues spread and hope for tomorrow.

Let Peace Be Still Again

I do love colors in my childhood.
Then, its about its attractiveness
But when I learnt more of it in my adulthood,
I have my chance to paint the ones that describe toughness.

In pain, I am made white,
Gentle dove sobering in his plight.
Pains make me go black in fright,
Wondering lonely as a starless night.

I wish I could turn red,
Dangerous and eager to lay my pains to bed.
I sometimes wish to become a blue bird,
And sink all in ocean depth well gird.

But pains are yellow: daffodil,
Dancing and blowing its trumpet crown still,
In pain; at risk if deep, may attract insane thrills
I wonder what perfect cures are the pills.

The world is so humble in pain,
As Corona virus get all detain.
Is just too difficult a world war 3 to explain,
Though we all hope a day will end it's reign.

We all take to this task:
Tightening up the face mask,
With our loved ones; afraid to bask,
When will the world be unmask?

We aren't created to perish.
God let our dying breathes be cherished.
That's the world's wish,
And peace will be accomplished

Maria Rose of the North

Raise me a dais of silk and down;
Hang it with vair and purple dyes;
Carve it in doves and pomegranates,
And peacocks with a hundred eyes;
Work it in gold and silver grapes,
In leaves and silver fleurs-de-lys;
Because the birthday of the daughter of a caliphate
Is come, a rose is come to me.

Blow out the candles of your cake.
They will not leave you in the dark,
Who round with grace this dusky arc
Of the grand tour which souls must take.

You who have sounded Maria Flakes,
And the still pool, to Plato’s mark,
Blow out the candles of your cake.
They will not leave you in the dark.

Yet, for your friends’ benighted sake,
Detain your upward-flying spark;
Get us that wish, though like the lark
You whet your wings till dawn shall break:
Blow out the candles of your cake

"Captain America will be waiting"
are the words coming from Cap's lips
He made this proclamation
after beating the assassins from their hips

Baron Zemo thought he could beat him
from swapping out the athletes
but all their might and muscle
couldn't perform such a feat

Captain America used his shield
to round them up in a bunch
and the police came to detain them
after it was more than just a hunch

Cap is our hero
and he seems to win every time
he does it so miracuosly
it's nice to put with rhyme

Twenty Four Men In a Field

Tension builds in multiples
Between two lords with their disciples:
For knives wanting to rush at arteries,
Trouble starts changing their batteries!

Now, every cough is risky:
Experimentation with the frisky;
Every move of defiance,
A murderous stab’s reliance;
The discordant notes of a forced sneeze
And awkwardness of every heard wheeze.

Something of headache for cold-suffering Clement
Already out of his element:
“How he should every sneeze contain
And a rearing cough detain…
And the final hateful explosion delay,
If he must still with his life pay?

Twenty-four men in a field
Leaving blood-thirsty tension to build!

Im Struggling

I'm struggling
Bending and breaking
Like a tree in a hurricane
Trying to hold on
Yet everything seems so mundane

I'm struggling
Trembling and shaking
Like a child in pain
Trying to breathe
Yet air is too hard to gain

I'm struggling
Hurting and wrenching
Like a soul going insane
Trying to break free
Yet normalcy seems hard to detain

I'm struggling
Though I'm still here
Standing tall
And moving on
Relief seems near
After it all

Premium Member2020 To 2021

Darn 2020 says it all,
We will remember so -
This year forced our lives to stall,
The way we didn’t know.

Pandemic films we watched in awe,
On Netflix, Crave or Prime,
This year we lived through what we saw,
Off screen, in real time.

Masked or at home, sad and withdrawn,
We couldn’t help but dwell
On the inflictions cast upon
By 2020’s spell.

I drink this New Year’s Eve champagne
To solve the mystery.
This viral culprit we’ll detain
Only in history!

God Gives Us One Hundred Percent

God Gives Us One Hundred Percent
At the beginning of time
God gave man one hundred per cent
Not one or two but one hundred per cent

In return, he had only asked for Fifty per cent
Not zero or ten per cent filled with hate and resentment
God still only ask for a per cent
Filled with love and commitment

Yet men disobey and chooses to be absent
Because their sins keep them from his presence
The wicked say the bible makes no sense and their hearts create a fence
Because to them, God's word is an offence

Their souls are against the Second Advent
But nothing in these times can prevent or detain
The things that were already written and proclaim.

" For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." Jeremiah 29;11

Words In Vain

Soul is in darkness in hopes to detain
Heart is in reaction with a chest pain
Nothing is plain and simple, words in vain
Key is thrown away in hopes to maintain
A grain of control, though there is no gain
For the active pursuit is to restrain
The only voice willing to speak again
Not to create rain or a hurricane
Words are not in anyway said in vain
The soul does not exist to be in vain

An afternoon stroll, I could not detain;
Together stroll arm-in-arm the distance.
Whisk away with the sudden cool light rain.

Butterflies swarm; all different colours,

Blow the birds about with their small brothers.
I hope it doesn't rain again tomorrow.
