Summer Rain

'The Thundering Silence'

The coming summer rain with drops of pain
Our lamenting love slowly slips away
My soul is slain with a thunderous vein
My heart left broken it begins to weigh
The tempered tears will drain as they detain
My longing for you on this summers spray
Thru the summer storm my love will transform
I look to the rainbow a welcome warm...
~~~
Angels in flight within great holy height
Looking for your love a heavenly view
Bringers of light they have you in their sight
My love divine from them is overdue
Scribing angels write of my lonely night
After the storm a rainbows hue  they flew
A summer rain remind that I may find
My lost love now a caressing entwined.
The Waddling Vagrants
The Wellington Harbor vagrants that waddled
Removed from the sushi stand where they coddled
Were heard to say,
"That is okay,"
"For it badly needs to be remodeled"
New Zealand Police Detain Penguins
New Zealand Police on Monday arrested a pair of penguins as they were caught loitering outside a sushi outlet. The birds, described as "waddling vagrants" were held near a Wellington train station as they made their way to a nearby Sushi Bi.
Torture
Whispers in my head I hear it all so clearly
Negativity in my brain bordering on weary
Enemy caught me when I was very weak
Tortured me for the treasure that they sought to seek
Vigil I remained though I admit that they were close
To destroying what I had that was saving me the most
Then I remember in that moment that I am stronger than I think
So I started focusing on the other side of the chain link
It keeps me strong it keeps me sane
It keeps me going it keeps me trained
And so the enemy caught me but I got out of their trap
Now I know where they're hiding I got them marked on my map
You'd think that I'd call out the troops and take them by seige
Arrest them detain them and make them my liege
Treat them like dirt torture and maim
Paybacks a  and all for my pain
But thats not how I roll for if I did I'd be them
Blood on my hands brazen in sin.
Summer Solstice
Summer Solstice Contest
Sponsor: Shadow Hamilton
The Celtic solstice brings forth enchanting fear,
   equinoxes altitude from the moon’s apex glow,
      the occult in its nature is rendered by the head seer,
         while zenith frees the warmth from the snow.
Conjuring charms during a midsummer night,
   the warlock is clairvoyant with intense sorcery,
      into the constellations the magical trickery takes height,
         spices and herbs bought down by the corner mercery.
The witches do incantations from the dark book of spells,
   while the druids make potions with earth’s natural clay,
      they spread the mystical tonic down the town’s well,
         as the little children stir mushroom and clover brew all day.
Secrets and cryptic imaginations make mysterious dimensions,
   hidden paths into the forest is where they transfer souls,
      the warlocks detain travelers from distinct condescension’s,
         as the arcane beings bring forth the magic of the trolls.
All these circumstances are due to the night of the solstice,
   dreams from afar travel long distances towards the earth’s axis,
      the wizardry of the town all started using mystical poultice,
         only one time a year is when the occult’s enchanters practice.
*Poultice is a moist material typically made of plant or herbs for medicinal usage*
Ama: the Song of the Jungle
Ama you are a father
Father my father
Whose basket of fishes
Sweetened my mother’s dishes
Whose naked feet danced
The jungle drum you drummed.
I remember
Father I still remember
Those joyous days
When like brooding hens
You employed your hands
To shield the offsprings
Those several bodies
O! the little bodies
That clung to your bare wide chest
Like the eaglets unto their nest!
I remember
The sun-burnt days of the hunted panther
When the full moon-light chimed
The rhythms of jungle drum drummed
Rhyming with the story told
By the white-haired.
Then your roaring march
Along the prime paths of the forest
Then your rustic touch
Touching the weapon-hilt
Making carcasses of beasts
Making fresh clan feasts.
I still remember
The raw feasts of the drummer
Which strewed this universe
Like young Mbari warriors
Taking the spear from several clans
Turning their crowns into tributes!
Ama, you are the drummer
Whose communal tongue echoed
From the hidden chambers of the Niger
The drum of your conquests echoed
Everywhere in the universe
Like the gusto of the Sheik
Confiscating my land from the Sahara
In her eternal desiccation.
You are the royal father
Whose royal eyes woo the moon
Whose black hairs detain the sun
Like Joshua at Gibeon
Even in the deep valleys of Ajalon
Bringing the heavens to abrupt halts
When their course possesses progress.
O, Ama! you are a noble father
And like the gold-laying eagle my Africa
Your natural pocket flowers gold
Which fills the coffers of the household.
O Ama! you are our race
The clan greets her farmer
The tiller of my earth
The earth of the ancients
The ancients of my blood
The blood of my race.
The clan is still drumming
On the drum that now is a mere echo
Of the eternal rhythm of your drum
Ama, you are still our clan’s song;
O, you are my song
The song my jungle
The jungle of my blood
The blood of my race:
A race
Waiting
Now and ever
In a forlorn clan
Awaiting
A return of the drum?
Kayla Mueller's Soliloquy
Detain me but my soul will be free
                                        Faith as sturdy as an old oak  tree
                                          Do not weep for me in fear
                                              Just whisper a prayer
                                                    And some day
                                                             I"ll
                                                       See a light
                                              Shine bright in the night
                                           And hold it hostage with me
                                     Detain me but my soul will be free
Kayla
They DETAIN me but I won't COMPLAIN
Time MOVES slow  lamented BLUES
Don't CRY for me as I fashioned a SIGH
To FREE my soul to God as he comforts ME
So DEEP are my feelings for those who WEEP
The DEATH of those who breathed their final BREATH
I KNOW my place in life and time will SHOW
To RENDER my service to Him and then SURRENDER
Stifled Cries
Stifled cries
No concern for the black man until the black man dies
Images of black and blue flash before my eyes
How many times?
Unprotected our men go into the world
Our protectors unafraid to kill even in front of their little girls
Philandro Castile licensed to carry a gun
I wouldn’t advice a black man to do this, it just gives our oppressors a reason
They are trained to to detain the minorities
I condemn the acts of these violently guilty
Me and my people stand alone
Swimming in this filthy water
Fear for our sons, brothers and now for our daughters
Dead in their prison cells
At least they made it there
Alton Sterling’s death was too early
Age 37 man, he was only selling CDs
RIP he was a good man, his criminal background all over the news
The media shaking it up like it’s a covered test tube
But it’s that what this is?
This is all a test to see how many of us they can put to rest
Before we heighten our cry
Sandra Bland, successful suicide?
It was all a lie
“The police officers who killed Philandro and Alton might not be persecuted, here’s why"
Leaders like MLK and Malcolm X even willing to die
But that was 60 years ago
Why are we repeating history?
Our own POC's time of trouble
Dear God, what is to become of me?
560 people killed by the police in 2016
5 officers killed in Dallas and now the government’s in a fury
“We are now in a state of emergency” no one was keeping score
But now we have a problem? What we were doing before?
Destruction to Indians, Latinos, and African Americans but
“Why is everything always about race?”
Well I dare you to say that to anyone’s face
Who’s lost a loved one during this attack of disgrace
A struggle because we’re different, but we’re all the same
Quite frankly I’m tired of all the lies
Before another brother or sister dies
Before another video of a murder flashes before my eyes
I ask God to hear and answer our
Stifled cries
No Replacement For Love
Its been a while,
Since iv'e smiled
You remind me of her.
That sounds bad,
But don't be mad
Because your heart is more pure.
Its hard to love
the push and shove
and how it gets so much harder
but seeing your face
and sharing your space,
makes me feel like it started.
This is different,
I feel strange. It's like my psyche has shifted.
Like an ape, all of the sudden becoming mathematically gifted.
My brain cells light up like charged tesla coils
My heart is aflame , and my blood starts to boil
But why? for who?
It's not her. It's for you.
No i can't explain it.
And i WONT detain it.
No rationalizations.
No words to describe it.
I love, therefore i am
Look Up
 English sonnet
I'm way down here, once more ensnared in pits of my own choice
because I picked that shovel up, my shovel of revolt.
Lord, did you hear me thrash about, unmindful of Your voice,
when I began to tunnel down, the tunnel of a dolt?
Like Jonah long ago, I plunged and trouble follows me.
While in the deep, I find myself quite paralyzed by screams.
But when the dream is done, thank God, your eyes have helped me see.
Once I awake, Your light exposes foolish, willful schemes.
If I'd not made the journey down to worry, guilt and doubt,
I could not see Your advent bright in rays of morning sun,
I would not know Your upward pull and what You're all about -
forgiveness, grace, a clear, straight path.  My nights of mourning gone.
When debt and darkness, fear and flight detain me in their sway
I pause awhile to recognize - the Truth, the Light, the Way.
A Search For Love's Companion For Contest
A Search for Love’s Companion        Terza Rhyma
                           If treach’rous men detain you in climes hot—
                           I’d battle sandstorms in the zenith noon,
                           Outwit the kidnapers –despoil their plot.
                           If you be lost at sea in dread typhoon,
                           Tho’ rescue ships may falter –all a ’shred--
                           I’d plunge shark-depths –prepared with my harpoon.
                           I knew my parents slept in true love’s bed--
                           Tho’ sought I substitutes—they’re empty shells--
                           (Refuse to think of lonely tears I’ve shed.)
                           Like Dante, I have glimpsed my share of hells,
                           But know that light exists in lover’s eyes--
                           In voice abides the intricacy of bells.
                           With diligence my search will carry on--
                           When our souls meet-- twill signify love’s dawn
Music and Women
'Music and Women'
 Music is furniture
 A subtle presence to detain silence's torture
 The best piece being the understated overture.
 Women begin to inflict me
 Prick at me with clawing felinity
 Hurting me, murdering me slowly.
 My mind is unkempt
 Desires and whims are thus left
 Ne'er to be sated, adding to acute discontent.
 Bereft and spiritually in debt
 I'm trapped in penning many a tedious triplet
 One after the other, minute by minute.
 Their sole purposes to decorate time
 Embellish space, fill a line
 But nothing more, nothing else to consign.
 Ringing in unison to a bell's chime.
Fleeing These Halls
In this sweet little pig pen
Walls that once were friends
And bold shields
For lounge room warriors
Now barricade
Detain indefinitely, denying
Beyond them imaginings
For ravenous captives
With restless longing and fears
Choose now the door
Indulgence to ruin, or
Patience to pride
An unforgiving master waits
With bitter destinies to navigate
Seize propitious offerings
Fleeing these halls
To uncertain fate
Courage now, groomed in isolation
Seclusion of rooms
No longer resting places.
Adolescent Path
Faulty compass of drifting swain
Freelancing on arid, desert plain
Passion fires mind of careening train
Burning loins long each satin sheath to stain
Sculpted dunes seductive beauty do feign
Smooth, silky curves do the froward eye entertain
But the silted grains proffer momentary gain
Entrancing mirages with frothy water holes detain
Anon, overwhelming desires the burgeoning libido enchain
Strained limbs long the rite of passage to explain
Scrubby growth shrouds the perimeter of fragile domain
Pubescent psyche with confusing, hormonal signals overlain
The overheated circuits a disoriented path ordain
As eroding winds of doubt doth the surface disdain
Insecure conduits more and more inward shame drain
Seething shadow flutters in constantly changing terrain
Each step on serpentine course causes more growing pain
Until stumbling on rational plateau containing deep, emotive vein
Conquering the debilitating elements that immaturity did restrain
