Loofah

I dearly love a good loofah
indeed I do how about you
I'll loofah here loofah there
loofah nearly everywhere
and whomever invented
the loofah
did an excellent thing
even the name 'loofah'
has a mighty fine ring
but I'm willing to bet
when day is done
buying a loofah
better yet
for the price of one
is definitely a twofer
oh and would you be so good
if you please
don't throw those corks away
do you think they grow on trees

Premium Member definitely juried in

The swirls in the painting were thickly slathered onto the canvas
Would they ever dry? The artist was unconcerned.
Concentrating on the creative process, not the technicality of his art.
The art teacher was amazed at the beauty of the poppy.

This novice painter had created a masterpiece in this gorgeous floral.
The edges of the petals were crisp and clean, the folds looked real.
He wondered what else this young student was capable of doing.
The quintessential art piece, definitely juried into their art show.

Definitely beautiful
The most beautiful I've seen
Who could ever fathom
I'd know my girl of dreams

My sweetheart, she's so talented
She sings like no one can
And when I fall asleep tonight
I'll dream of her again

Sometimes my dreams get crazy
Scenarios afire
Crescendoing intensity
Fill me with desire

I stand behind my princess
My arms around her waist
I whisper that I love her
A gentle kiss is placed

She turns around to face me
Our eyes lock in a stare
Our lips are getting closer
'Til not much space is there

My name in sotto voce
Her signal says okay
Our mouths then lock impassioned
Let's stay this way all day

"...... define the moment or the moment will define you."
                                          -Walt Whitman

Driven to succeed, dare now to achieve
Desire for accomplishment’s blessing flow
Determined against trials, to God… cleave
Delight yourself amidst fulfillment glow.

Dreams toward victory can start today
Do maximize chances with all your might*
Depend on the Lord Who guides through the way
Doubt not His Word that teaches what is right.

Direct your steps this moment forward
Dismount from confusion-ride for faith’s fly
Define clearly role as Christian steward
Demands of work …meet…despite hardship’s sigh.

Destined to win along the Saviour’s side
Decide for optimized triumphant bliss
Distinguish yourself with finisher-pride
Duty … keep on minding from heart’s abyss.

*Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

Didactic in quatrain with alliteration

Premium Member Definitely Not Square

I'm
Not square
Nope, not round
I have three sides
I can't roll or even hop
I'm limited in what I can do
Bet you can't guess my shape, pop
Don't shoot into space because I might drop

I Am Definitely Sure

Among the idiot politicians
there are smart ones
who absolutely know
where and when
what sort of idiocy looks good
on their faces

Premium Member Definitely Maybe

He gazed just past her empty, soulful eyes
and said, "I really kinda love you so.
I always sometimes see you as a prize
and feel my love will surely maybe grow.

In one or maybe nine or seven years,
I'm almost pretty sure I'll want a wife.
If you say 'Maybe not," you'll see my tears.
Your words will cut just like a butter knife.

The children we won't have will be so sad.
The home we never built will soon fall in.
The in-laws who aren't there will be so mad
because we weren't where we had never been."

****************************************

"I've seldom never heard such heartfelt bunk.
You've made your feelings clear as mud," she said.
"I think I know what I just heard is junk.
I sorta wish you'd drop somewhat half-dead."

It Was Definitely a Miracle

GOD KEPT THEM
IT WAS A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT
THE CAR WAS BADLY DISFIGURED
ROLLED OVER MULTIPLE TIMES
THEY LEFT OUT WITH ONLY A SCRATCH
CONTACTED THEIR FIANCE
BOTH AT THE SCENE
GIVING PRAISES TO THE ALMIGHTY KING
GOTTEN OUT, DOORS MAY HAVE BEEN LATCHED
IT WAS A MIRACLE
GOD HAD ANGELS WATCHING
IT IS A BLESSING
THEY ARE ALIVE
SURVIVED.

Discouraging others
Expecting instant respect
Fingering a bad guy
Imagining worst scenario
Negating someone’s accomplishments
Irritating people in a mean way
Tasting caviar
Eating slimy oysters
Laughing at a person’s misfortune
Yelling about people I have never met

Needling a nefarious never-do-well-er
Ostracizing an ostrich
Tackling a Tiger

We'Ll Definitely Be Back

Glissandos
with a twist of tangy lime
arpeggios
in starched cuffs and gleaming buttons
sparkle from the ivories
of a Baldwin baby grand
leaving the root notes
for the double bass to play

It's honey
in be-bop
pure rich amber honey
with a cinnamon stick
and a drop of syncopation
blending in soft beats
of a hi-hat
gentle brushes on a tom

A second round
of drinks arrives
as conversations hush
and candles flicker

Our new favorite diner
with smooth live jazz
on Wednesdays

Welsh dragon sausage
they’re very hot and spicy
I’m burning both ends

Welsh dragon sausages are absolutely delicious. They contain chili, leeks and garlic and are VERY spicy!
(N B ... they DO NOT contain real dragons !!!)

There was a young chap from Berlin
Who stressed lack of sleep was a sin
He would get out of bed
On condition, he said,
That breakfast included dry gin.

Its a signal to start-
a lion beats the heat as he try's his travels and races it to high speed art!

Becoming lied to by the betrayals of his farse he's ...

Becoming faster by the darts-

his disaster was the park!

No no it was the land got plastered and he was simply stuck without sparks!

So why find her when it's delivered by cars?

Why need the reminder to zone out the narks?

Its intangible legion that carries me as I embark,

because they have no other reasons anyhow and I blend in in the dark!

So yes! Get to them faster than ever before,

my face is always the site for any who cannot be made to understand why it carts.

When a man brings his wife some flowers without reason
You can bet your sweet bippy it's definitely treason
Flowers are quite nice
But really don't suffice
Though large sums of money would deal with the demons

Premium Member Men You Definitely Wouldn'T Want To Date - Part 2

I once dated a chef …
I was worried about getting a bun in the oven
But when I saw him mincing across the kitchen
I knew I wouldn’t be getting my fingers burned!

I once dated a fireman…
Oh he was HOT HOT HOT
But when he got out his tiny hose
It soon put out the flames of my desire

I once dated an electrician ..
Hoping that he would light up my life
But he was short tempered and would quickly blow a fuse
Sadly in the end there was no spark between us

I once dated a plumber…
I was flushed with pride when we were out together
Sadly he had problems with his waterworks
I ditched him… he was always taking a leak

I once dated a bricklayer
Couldn’t resist pointing out my faults
He wouldn’t listen, it was like talking to a brick wall
In the end he drove me up the wall and our relationship crumbled
