Premium Member Christmas caroling

Someday I’ll miss the sound
Of my mom singing carols
Off-key in the other room
While I’m trying to fall asleep
(We agree Bing Crosby and Dean Martin
Have astonishingly similar voices)
Mingled with her announcements
I got another one!!
Tallying up her finds
On our impossible cupcakes puzzle
Marooned on half our dining table
Ever since last Valentine’s
(She wants to entice me to help her find more
But I lost my patience long ago
So I just made her a glass of lemonade
With five ice cubes falling from the fridge)
It’s mildly annoying right now
Hearing her argue with cupcakes
Singing along quite out loud
With her unending playlist
Yet it’s also kind of comforting
To pause and think
This will be a memory of her
I can make it sad or happy
And I know I’d regret it if I complained
Because someday I’ll miss the sound
Of my mom singing carols

Premium Member My Dream Within A Dream

You're not drunk if you can lie on the floor without holding on. Dean Martin

My heart echoes a steady beat.
I lie on a hard bed
     in perfect penumbra.
The soft sound seems to echo
from a plastic machine.
It beats steadily but slowly.
A nurse comes in and, with a torch,
          examines the room thoroughly.

Suddenly, the heart beat stopped.
I lie in the dark on my bed,
consumed by fear. I feel stiff.
No heart beats, no life, just pure fear.
I cannot rise from the bed.
Two men come in and drag a bed
out of the room. A nurse comes in.
You will soon be fine—just a fall.
     Tomorrow you can go home.

Best drink some tea with cinnamon.
You must have drunk a whole bottle!
And get up from that sofa,
it's not for you, rest somewhere else.
Oh, a cop has a notice
Seems you must go to court.
Don't ask where your bottle is.
Someone stole it and disappeared.

Send me a pillow that you dream on, standing on the corner in a tuxedo suit
Dean Martin is a hero, and a singer to boot
Memories are made of this makes me smile so wide too
As does listening to you’re nobody til somebody loves you,

Fly me to the moon, so wonderful, the lyrics fine.
Everybody loves somebody, reminds me of me and mine.
Standing on the corner, joyful memories are made of this
Remembering Dean Martin’s songs feels like a kiss

Premium Member Don't Say Boo

~ To the tune of 'Everybody Loves Somebody Sometimes ~
                             Sung by Dean Martin

Everyone can lose a ballgame sometimes
Even good teams go down to defeat
            Tonight, we’ll drown our sorrows
                Tomorrow’s win ~ so sweet

            Not every game’s a shut-out or no-hitter
The best of pitchers throws some home runs too
And when might Casey swings – and misses
Whatever you do ~ Don’t say boo

Premium Member Attentive Wife

hips swivel, i shimmy
over to spouse,
my finger seriously
pointing at him,
sure sparkling eyes.

my pointer aiming
his way, wanting
its way with him.

my darling’s attention,
intentionally on me -

my lips close in
on my lover,
i sing,
“i want you…”

mindfully pointing
at him,
my finger taps
onto my wrist,

“...to tell me what time it is.”

i smile. i wink.
i’ve been playing
with him.

he’d reminded me
that work’s shortly -
we’d been watching
‘70’s Dean Martin Roast.

you get the picture -
i had fun with him,
the roast’s on him.

Premium Member Was That Dean Martin

We flip through one hundred and eighteen glossy pages of magazine people.
None we know.
Wait! Was that Dean Martin?
A throwback to the 60’s.
False alarm.
One more page of people we do not know.
Why do we take these magazines? We ask each other.
We do not KNOW any of these people.
Maybe this is the best reason of all.

That's Psychosis

(parody of the hit song sung by Dean Martin, “That’s Amore”)

When the moon hits your brain like the whoosh of cocaine,
That’s psychosis.
When delusions galore throw good sense out the door,
That’s psychosis.

Bells will ring (Ding-a-ling-a-ling! Wing-a-ding-a-ding!)
As you string yarns together.
Eyes will roll (Total load of bull! Total load of bull!)
When your whirlwinds we weather.

When you hear in your mind voices clear, stern or kind,
That’s psychosis.
To conceive them a sign or believe they’re divine
Is insane...

Still it seems such a wonderful dream since you’re
Under hypnosis.
Pardon me; you can’t see, but the reasoned agree
That’s psychosis.

Maniac Who Loves Money

Maniac Who Loved Money

Trump was maniac who loved money;
Acting foolish thinking he was funny;
He went out and had affair on a dare;
All of his supporters are full of despair;
Died when water boarded by his honey.
(Or was it with honey.)

Cremated By Someone Related

Trump's dead body was sticky subject;
Had heard that someone it did select;
Turned out to be someone related
Who had his cruddy body cremated
Before every body it did infect.

Every body needs a body sometime.
Is that the song Dean Martin sang
With an Italian twang.

Jim Horn.

Pie Thinking

When I think of pies
I think of my son Kev,
when it comes to baking pies
he is a master chef,
when I think of pies
I think of my younger sister Eileen,
my Dads nickname for her
was "Pies" when she was 2 or 3,
when I think of pies
I think of Wal-mart,
with their bakery aisle
tempting us with the
different varieties and aromas,
when I think of pies
I think about Thanksgiving,
and how we Americans
love to give thanks
by scarfing down
about half a dozen,
when I think of pies
I think of pizza,
with Dominoes,
Little Caesars, Papa Johns
and Marcos and their
customers coming and going,
when I think of pies
I think of Dean Martin,
crooning to us his song
about the moon and
pizza pie in "Thats Amore,"
and last if not least
when I think of pies I sigh
and thank God I'm not
a mathematician,
because I think of pies enough
as it is and worry I'll soon
be fat instead of thin!

Amour, I Will Ease Your Pain

"Amor, amor, amor This word so sweet that I repeat
Means I have adored you Amor, amor, my love
Will you deny this heart that I have placed before you?"

Quote from DEAN MARTIN song- AMOR

Inspired by the French movie “Amour” which has won string of Awards

Where do you have the pain Amour?
Tell me where it aches
See I am right beside you my love
Oh ......how... do I ease your pain
Your hands are still so soft
Shall I tell you a story my sweet heart
Listen it will wipe your pain
“When I was around ten......
I was sent to a holiday camp
My mom and I had a secret pact
If I like the place to draw flowers,
If I don’t to draw stars
So my post cards are full of stars......
See your pain is gone now
My sweet! Do you feel my kiss?
I will ease your pain forever......
M m mm..........
Please forgive me Dear God
I cannot bear to see her suffering?
I cannot bear any more.......
I have bought flowers to decorate her body
And it will give her a nice fragrance
There, I hear her washing the dishes
She has come to take me too
Yes, I will put on the coat
No, I haven’t forgotten my shoes
With My Amour I am going too...

Music

Music gives the soul emotion.
From the thunderous orchestra loudly expressing anger,
To the melancholy flute expressing sadness.

Music gives the heart a heartbeat.
From the passionate lyrics of a lovesong,
To a whining violin expressing lost love.

Music gives the black and white world color.
From the red in passion,
To the blue in calmness.

Music knows no bounds in age.
From a sassy Granny listening to Dean Martin,
To a hip-hop teen listening to the Black-Eyed Peas.

Music shines like diamonds.
Music has the luster of silver.
Music gives sparkle to the stars.
Music is the wealth of cultures.
