Strolling upon the shore at night,
cavorting crabs come into sight.
White-capped waves kiss the sultry shore,
whisper nothings in gentle roar.
Digging clams discover their holes,
hiding away within the shoals.
Starfish affirm their right of place,
disappearing without a trace.
Treasures blossom on cooling sand,
aglitter in a patterned strand.
Tiny rivulets run their course
returning to their common source.
Mysterious as it may be,
I will always smile at the sea.
For every glow of your shine, there will always be others who try to extinguish your flame than to learn how to glow on their own.
Considering all resources that they spent trying to extinguish your fire, they would have shone already if they only chose to try on their own.

The crab on the salty sandy sod,
Making his way to the cold sea,
This odd crustacean decapod,
Crabbiest thing in the briny deep.
Yet, there is a swagger about him,
That’s the envy of all others,
Doesn’t value being proper or prim,
Nor have need to regale another.
Confident he will make the water,
He has done it a thousand times,
Nothing in his way that bothers,
Only nine empty diet drink cans.
Yikes, there approaches a dark shadow,
Must abruptly move all those legs,
This could be something of matter,
The shadow is carrying a keg.
It’s a mad dash to the ocean blue,
To escape what could be trouble,
This could be day a crab might rue,
Time for the ten-legged crab shuffle.
The crab makes it to the briny deep,
Shirks a crustacean tragedy,
Wasn’t the time to slumber or sleep,
Or shadow claims his anatomy.

Note: The lovely Blue Crab is a member of the family of crabs known as the Portunidae; a swimming crab with hind legs similar to paddles. They are caught and eaten in many places. Often they are crushed or killed by passing cars, as they feed on mangrove leaves. Now they face possible extinction. https://chesapeakebay.noaa.gov/fish-facts/blue-crab
Lobsters packed in eighteen-wheelers
grapple with their feelings.
A mass custody of shrimps
spoon together
still pink with passion.
Crabs cross-dress
bound more-or-less
to nips of salty resentment.
A soupçon of sea bugs
dished up
on bright porcelain plates.
Fresh alien captives
worth more alive than dead
until we break bread.
Crustacean Is An Anthropod
A crustacean is really an arthropod,
Who we found out was made by God;
Is immune,
To sand dune,
And never modified to place in sod.

Here is a horrible haiku for ya, Ironic! Hope you hate it!
