I am Rainbow
seven colours merged to flowing
glow in Dark Nights of the Soul
landed in a country nicknamed
the “Rainbow Nation” untamed
my mission to transform, transmute
colours covered in dust and rust
with rain we gain, attain without shame
sublime freedom for Self and fellow
with not much bellow never shallow
arcs of colours we witness together
comradeship our survival dope to cope
heliocentric symbols unified we hope
regard one another with approval and respect
as we watch rainbows high-low, know neglect
through struggling pain red became orange
orange yellow, yellow to green to blue then
indigo to white sprinkled with fight, onto light
arcs across sunny skies, sunflowers, koppies
such radiant patterns flood our mixed-up blood !
Asleep on the bed
your new arms and legs
placed neatly on the chair by your side.
I see your eyes moving rapidly
testifying to the horrors
that are still alive in your head.
How can I tell you
that all that I need came back to me?
I had to find you.
Search the hospitals
and berate the secrecy
that masquerades as comradeship.
That thing that soldiers do.
Why did they hide you from me?
How can I tell you
that all that I need came back to me?
Or, is it that you were hiding?
Your wish not to be found?
Did you think I would not keep
the promises we made each other?
I have you now; you are found
and loved as ever you were.
How can I tell you
that all that I need came back to me?
I cannot imagine your pain
but it shows clearly on your face
I see the anguish; you had plans;
dreams of children yet to be.
What they took from you
does not make you less than a man.
How can I tell you
that all that I need came back to me?
Relationship is like an elastic string;
If you stretch it long, it may break.
Conflicts in it are like water drops on a hot pan.
Comradeship alone extends its longevity.
Forgiving and ignoring the faults of others,
Set sail on the serene waters of tranquility.
I run toward the bed, wanting dreams to begin
Loving what happens night after night, as I build my empire
It’s not an egotistical world, it is a giving world
Started out with an orphanage
Where all the Little Orphan Annies have a place
Laughing and singing in comradeship,
Loving their lives in the happiest place on earth
I am the ringmaster, so the music is mine
The sets are mine, but the stage is theirs
Eagerly, I leave my “haha so-called-real-life” behind
I close my eyes, knowing I will be introduced to new colors
New shapes, new experiences, new adventures
they sit in silence
peaceful comradeship
dog and cat as sister and brother
helping the world
by sharing their unity
instilling hope
This is for those who complete in the INVICTA games,
I am not in the services, but know few who have served
and have fallen and survived.
I served with a warrior's heart in conflict
Now I compete in these games with spirit
Victory for all who chose now to compete
I honour all our fallen comrades in battle
Choosing to honour them all in one spirit
The greatest victory is fighting in our life
Army, Naval and Airforce we are all same
Gaining the courage to fight my limitation
A challenge that I know i won't face alone
May these games serves as a testament
Ensuring comradeship can bring us peace
Supporting each others is a worthy battle
The dusts have my faith in you sagged,
Simply on fake comradeship dragged;
Everything now A Big Fool’s Risk,
Smiling back A Big Asterisk…
Chats which last week smoothed my brow
Now what I fear could yield a row
With the effortless speed of Ease
Or A Morning Wind’s generous breeze:
A host about which I would boast,
Your released glass of water toast,
Now someone to The Worst wish
And make sure I ate not his dish…
Try I do to reject a friend,
When sure I am it is the end;
The Dusts have barred a thousand things,
The Marred away flown with wrecked wings.
Not sure in what light I’m taken,
Benefit of doubt much shaken,
No waiting for Mending Angel
It might be a waiting for jail.
Suppose I tell you all my innermost secrets
Lay my soul bear before you without fear,
Will you respect what confidence merits
Consider the trust I placed in you as dear?
Knowing I have shared with you my hurt
Suppose I tell you all my innermost secrets,
Having come to you for needed comfort
A favored friendship among all my outlets.
Nothing is so sacred as sharing our regrets,
As laying bear our most personal intimacies
Suppose I tell you all my innermost secrets
We have always conversed with such ease.
Will you think me less for unveiling my soul
Not seeking for how your mind interprets,
But wanting our comradeship to be whole
Suppose I tell you all my innermost secrets.

They are in love said the delighted cow.
Different species and body types, so how?
Question from pig with an intelligent mind.
Not sure, but both are sincere, sweet and kind.,
Ram and Goat overlooked the mean naysayers though.
Focused on their mutual admiration, no lie or woe.
Cuddled up together in the barnyard all cozy at night.
Their comradeship was soon in no way a surprising sight.
They are totally I love, the dappled horse agreed.
Two animals who are in no way the same breed.
Their friendship sanctioned by angels and ancestors above.
Afterall, you love who you love who you love who you love.
If you don’t want to hurt me with ‘A No’
Then ahead with High-Pitched ‘Yes’;
You’re sure our comradeship won’t grow
And this you can with discernment guess
Then, let your ‘Yes’ powerfully ring out
Proving itself a maniacal shout;
Let the message be megaphone – fit
In a deafening voice proclaiming it
Your wholehearted ‘Yes’ not A No
That a rapport makes like river flow …
Save you think it would you degrade
And one or two things fade
You go ahead and The Thing bless
With ‘A Yes’ and nothing less.
Such haikus spread on ground-
as if growing and spending
the comradeship
water is a first thought and matter
I think of, as I
rise to see
if may be dawn approaches?
and what I may-
guess from these
yellow and white flowers-
heavily jasmined
don't worry tortoise
don't worry snail
in the rain
if the rule spreads
to mountain Kumbi-
through.
What is our life but a short-term existence on earth
Quite temporary from the beginning to the end,
In the grand scheme of human affairs from our birth
Could our purpose be to find comradeship or blend?
Still, there is a compelling urge to be independent--
What we idly call our freedom, our coveted liberty
On a grander scale what we are willing to fight for
Even sacrifice for the sake of feeling unencumbered
By someone, some nation, a cause unlike ourselves
Individualism, nationalism, or tribalism shall it be?
That motivates us to seize it all during our brief stay
Caring neither for history, nor what the future holds.

loneliness not extreme
known from what I’ve seen
light within darkness lies
imaginings to my surprise
behind exclusion’s walls of slate
fantasies await partake
travelogues in brevity
roads to wander endlessly
inside transparent walls
exclusion quells, overhauls
intimate benign entwine
no boundaries bind confine
loneliness companion friend
comradeship without end
a wondrous place for peek-a-boo
searching finding, finding me
battle not there is no fight
within the darkness blinding light
illuminates humane invites
flings and fantasy’s flights
Parading openly into purgatory
singing Irish folk songs
smoking cigarettes, not joints
one vaping
Appreciating our comradeship
Accepting whatever will be in a luxurious way
freely sharing stories
resting as we wait our next incarnation
