The Desert of Dreams

Dream
palms sprout,
wetted by sweat.
Like an eternal rainbow
in the sand, Dubai entices
the world. It’s not a mirage over
the dunes, but a stunning truth of
the spectacular opulence. The culture
mixing in the palette of desert with tints and
shades of all continents is sublime. Our forefathers
with hopes flying like falcons voyaged across the vast
risk on the Fat Boat. No land is worthless. Oil transformed
the arid lives. Philanthropic passion abounds in the petrol poetry.
This warm city is pregnant with promises. The expatriates with diverse
dispositions and complexions are cozy in the emirate’s benevolent heart.

Sphere

Closed in the jar of fantacy, Of my own utopian sphere, Where, In the hands of divinity all the complexions lie. The moral world with no misdeed. Here, domains don't get old, No fret and wonder what the future will hold. Life goes blissfully as butterfly, With every gleeful entities on earth. The sphere of eternal love and peace, same as beautiful ceaseless sky. Engrossed by the idol beauty of the sphere, I forgot about the real one. Suddenly, the jar of fantacy broke, As I realized and awoke

four generations of beautiful women
each one a reflection of her older version
their eyes are the same, their complexions similar
their smiles identical

each one proud, but not arrogant
four strong loving compassionate women
showing the world what motherhood looks like
except for the baby, but her turn is coming

a tribe of strong, passionate, joyful women
each one nurturing the next generation
expecting the best from her offspring
accepting nothing less than joy and love

Premium MemberGODS SCHEME- Ariddleculous Haiku? IN TIME?

A cat meows a dog barks.
When where when there then a dog
meows? A cat barks? Sunset
Sunrise! The complexions! New skies
 complexions new surprise?
It BEGINS AGAIN?! This TIME Sunset!
Midnight flare? How then? It can?
A silent cry quiet night.
There the DEATH OF DIE!
The sun has begun again to spin.

Sunset line! THREE morning TIME!
A CAT meows a dog barks.
BRILLIANT SUN LIGHT! Where is the
shade? Sight? There IS NOT the NIGHT!
Here was there DAY, DAY and DAY!
No was any more DARK! No misery
To spark the GLOOM! a kitten purrs
Perfectly pacified this is definite
DEATHof DIE! Originally expressed
As LIE. All IS persistently in SILENT
OF QUIET. NOTHING JUST DEAD DARK!
Is this a riddleful DREAM?! This IS
REAL? No this IS JUST the GODS SCHEME!
THERE the ANKH! IN THE SKY!
YEAH! Death has DIED! All IS now
Alive! We live we live we live WE LIVE!
WE LIVE!

Premium MemberDriving Past the Fair

Fair is a word tossed between us,
quick breaths across wet teeth—
a fleeting agreement that nothing ever is,
except for our burning complexions
beneath the relentless, arid graze of summer sun.
The skin engaged in a heated debate.

But that was a different fair, much like the weather
which, on that day, was not.

The air thickened between us, choking in the scorch,
on the brink of calling it quits.
Then, we reached for each other's hair,
pleaching the fair fringe into a single French plait,
holding the tension steady with every strand—
a silent pact of reconciliation.

Flyaways re-tamed, we resumed our journey,
a fair sojourn toward the next fiery skirmish.
Over orange peels on the dashboard,
amidst a shared coffee, we lost ourselves—
debating whose turn to sip, which turn we missed that day.

Driving faster past the fairground,
children's screams echoed, tossing fares paid
like quarters ablaze in pockets emptied,
desperate for escape onto the open road.

The tollbooth's metallic throat protested with clangs
as change cascaded into the plexiglass bank,
accepting the expense to propel us forward
along the road until the next stop,
on our fairway.

Diversity brings excitement to life, the saying goes…
Hence, diverse colors on earth our nature bestows…
Amid sunrises and sunsets when the sky is clear,
Brilliant yellow, orange and red colors do appear.
As and when sunlight strikes the droplets of rain,
Magical arcs of colors take shape again and again.
Flowers and fruits of different plants and trees,
With their various colors, our eyes they please.
With their vivid colors, birds of different feather,
When seen flying together, enchant us altogether.
On their bodies with stripes, spots and patches,
Animals do feast us in forests, moving in batches.
It’s wonder to see people of different complexions,
Living together on earth, maintaining affections.
With its infinite shades, this planet of ours
Always tries to drench us in colorful showers.

One Love

One Love
By Rebecca Dominique Morris

What’s the difference between you and me
Why can’t we be who we were meant to be
Is it because your black and I’m white?
Because your complexions darker and mine is light?
Do we not all bleed the same blood?
Why is my race a barrier and something that can’t be understood?
Just because we were born of different origin
Doesn’t mean you should judge me because of the colour of my skin
Our differences shouldn’t define what our souls feel
Is what we feel not real ?are we not both human and do our hearts not beat the same way?
Do we not live in the same world where the sun rises and falls each day ? Is it not the same god to who we pray?
Why aren’t our minds and body allowed to connect
Why is that something that we have to forget
That people tell us they cannot accept and therefore we should regret
Was love not created to unite
Denial of a basic human right
So why allow it to be defined
As despite my complexion , we are all gods creation and one mankind

oh, heaven …

the enigma of her face ...
its melting mysteries and moody veneers -
when shadowy and despondent
like a brumal, aching, mist-muddled beach
wild tresses framing it
like a surf-swept seaweed
sandy spindrift
left tossed by her squall
then …
the haze lifts -
irises - star sapphires, shimmering
glistening like the wash of the Milky Way
her smile blooms forth
as a dazzling midday meadow
splashed thick with bluebells and promise
and all that manic magic ...
cinematic surprises from there-to-here
rages of rouge, bawdy blushes
and pale complexions, pitiful
the multitude of transitions and tones -
all my undoing
and all divine …

oh heaven.

Sense of Direction

10/8/22

Never mind
There is no better time
One way to find out if I'll ever find
What's on the separate side

It took more than seven tries
To get it right, after eleven nights
In the midst of a hectic life
While there was red in the skies
Had to stay at it instead of waiting to be next in line

Take heed folks
Of these notes
Far too often we boast
Friction with each stroke
Eventually the machine broke
Behind all the weed smoke
And C-Notes
Perched beyond speed boats
Men in green coats
In the end, fate was decided by three votes

Nearby a pile of wood ash
Knowing I could crash
Trying my best to go down a good path
She always looks pass
Difficult at first was how I took that
I stood at
The crossroads then pushed back

Without exception
There is continual deception
It's 2022 yet areas still have no reception
Times of self-reflection
I've had hardly any connection
As well as zero affection

Without a question
People still obsessed with
Elections and skin complexions
This pitiful concept spreads like an infection

Such pettiness I pay no attention
While going in and out the dimension
Making sure to always have a sense of direction

gravitating together,
children - puffy fat in snowsuits - grasp
                 one another's mittened hands,
in-line unison,
their fall backwards into a soft ridge of snow

kid-laughter dances on the bending wind of cold
       saturated tones of silliness
       freefall play
repeated in fresh drifts with puckish twists
       newfound layers of warmth
with ruddy, winter-worn complexions

an untroubled time
in the bruised abundance of snow
                               etched by imprints
winter's candy floss to children
life-loving voices that torch the chilling air
                                                               with joy
before heartbreak is definable
before bindings shape their toil

Premium MemberTenebrous Night

Tenebrous night steals autumn days,
Invading ink subtracts the breath of light,
With tarnished mingling edge,
With dusty dusk’s laments.

Tenebrous night of immutable grave,
Infiltrating melanin loots the golden glow,
Where criminal and crucifix sink,
Where dream and delirium drown.

We are merely complexions of being
With frivolous hearts,
Chalking pigment lines to cleave
The cloak of skin we all share,
Chasing the encasing that divides us.

Across the planet, lines of disparity,
	          Lines of uneven imparity,
Across the globe, lines of ruling class,
Lines of the toilers and indigent class.

We are merely complexions of being
	        Carving rich from poor,
Along lines of race and class.
We dread what may come to pass.

Tenebrous night our final gasp,
         The tenuous squandered
                             Dwindling light we grasp.
