One Love

One Love By Rebecca Dominique Morris What’s the difference between you and me Why can’t we be who we were meant to be Is it because your black and I’m white? Because your complexions darker and mine is light? Do we not all bleed the same blood? Why is my race a barrier and something that can’t be understood? Just because we were born of different origin Doesn’t mean you should judge me because of the colour of my skin Our differences shouldn’t define what our souls feel Is what we feel not real ?are we not both human and do our hearts not beat the same way? Do we not live in the same world where the sun rises and falls each day ? Is it not the same god to who we pray? Why aren’t our minds and body allowed to connect Why is that something that we have to forget That people tell us they cannot accept and therefore we should regret Was love not created to unite Denial of a basic human right So why allow it to be defined As despite my complexion , we are all gods creation and one mankind

Some still eschew mixed relationships. My wife is Korean. I'm white. Who gives a flip, right? Nice commentary
