The life of a fraud officer

The life of a fraud officer

For eight years
I worked as a fraud officer
Combating visa and passport fraud
Back when I worked
As a US diplomat.

In Mumbai
There was so much fraud
But we often had no choice
But to hold our noise
And issue visas.

In Spain not as much
But still quite a bit.

I learned the hard way
So many people
Are con men and women.

Lying, cheating
To get what they want.

One learned to not take it personally
Just part of the job
Working in a broken down visa system.

Where if the client has a good lawyer
And the paperwork looked legit
They would prevail.

And so the constant games
The lies and deceit continued
To this day.

I became so cynical
About people
But detecting fraud
Was like playing detective.

Once in a while
We were able to deny
A visa.

When the fraudulent activity
Was too blatant to ignore.

Triumph Ascendant

In victory's light, your shield flies high
With steadfast resolve, you reached for the sky
Through battles and trials, your spirit stood tall
Congrats for combating America's call

How dare you try to shrug it off, Joe
     as 'one bad night'
   when you didn’t deliver...

...Just like you didn’t deliver on Afghanistan, or
on picking a competent VP, or
on ending COVID school lockdowns, or
on reigning in reckless government spending, or
      on combating skyrocketing inflation, or
on maintaining order at our southern border, or
on giving Ukraine what it needed to stop Putin, or
on keeping the pressure on Hamas instead of on Israel, or
on telling the truth about Hunter’s laptop, or
on supporting women’s sports for biological women only
on fighting unprecedented urban crime and disorder, or
      on so much more

Your failure to deliver on debate night
once more reflects your utter lack of insight
demonstrates why you have absolutely no right
to continue to make a mockery of us
           in this, America’s darkest night

Joe! Give up your maddeningly selfish fight
for the Presidency ~ you’re too far gone to see the light

Premium MemberThree Little Words

‘I love you’ three little words with a beautiful meaning when combined…
whether they are written…or read….
Three little words filled with so much emotion
it matters not in what language they are said,

‘I love you’ three little words with the ability to enhance our world…to beautify.
Three little words that can make us smile…that can make us laugh…or cry.

There are many creatures in the world with the ability to love…
pets, and elephants and birds…
but we are the only species on Earth that can express our love in words.

It’s wonderful how in any language..what these three little words can do…
Je Táime, To quiero, Ti amo…just to name a few.

Even when the language is only spoken with our hands….
the three little words ‘I love you’ are easy to understand.

And how many times without saying a word have you been pleasantly surprised
when you see the words ‘I love you’ spoken in someone else’s eyes.

Often I have wondered in a world filled with hatred bigotry and war…
If the first step in combating these
would be to use these three little words…
perhaps…a little more.

Premium MemberThe Repugnantkin

Growing up in the GOP, the
Shadow of Lincoln, among others was strong.
Yet as time rolled through, subtle but
Drastic change has occurred, both in the short & long.

It has morphed through a rear-view mirror,
Looking for its greatness and glory in the past.
While failing to work on any future,
Or any progress that might stand and last.

At the core, they're seen combating truth,
With enough lies that burden and inflame.
With the power and legal agility, to
Try and displace reality and delay the game.

Holding on to conspiracy as concrete footing,
Such that Q-anon and the satanic are real.
They attach to the fanciful by fear mongering,
With only repetition as a fraudulent seal.

So as they chase down the boogeyman and demonic,
Lo and behold, they tend to find a democratic face.
Where even 'RINO's are tracked down and hunted,
Becoming endangered in their once-safe place.

This pursuit has shown its vile nature,
As violence threatens those to dare realities view.
And I can only hope that justice will survive,
And the truth will provide the final clue.

Fingers

In all ten
For my life of pen:
For the prize-fighter's fists
From the eyes summoning mists.

To our own eyes move straight,
When we can no longer wait
To rid them of slumber
And add to the outside world’s number.

Often gesturing our wish
To throw together some dish
And eating it off zoom,
The hell getting out of our room!

Sometimes, combating the itch
In public An Embarrassing :
And the pin-pricking worms
Picnicking in our rectums!

In creativity, The Wisely Engaged,
When inventive mind is not hedged
To every onlooker reminding
That on one it is binding
To display his being the rod
Moses had picked from God

Fingers can Mister A land in trouble
And Mister B supply a double.

Premium MemberDoing Duty

Arjuna, a grand warrior, well habited to,
Fight against nastiest of warrior crew;
Finds himself faced with kith and kin
To fight a war, hence, he fears within;
Dilemma-filled he calls out to God,
God hears him and hurries to his aid;
Erasing the doubts shrouding him,
He bids him his duties to perform;
Duty of a warrior is fighting, he says,
Not ever thinking of victory of loss;
Pleasure or pain or victory or defeat
Reckon on actions with no deceit;
Fighting against inner inclinations,
Demeanors, evil desires, illusions;
Losing all that’s imperfection within,
Combating to gain the life’s soul win;
Knowledge combined with love is ideal,
Action and no inaction – must be real;
Doing duties with no fruit expectance,
Must be the pursuit of human existence;
Though it may not be always possible,
Striving towards it is, indeed, feasible...

"For only in imbalances we feel
the balance that keeps life on even keel."
                                                      -by Poet

Each life can offer hurdles- somewhat hard to solve
filled with imbalances that rock the soul and heart.
The pleasures versus struggles battle to resolve
a peacefulness that governs when ordeals depart.

For what is joy without its contrast with despair?
No tides would push and pull devoid of ebb and flow.
The earth would die with just the sun- no rain affair.
Sans darkest night, no day could wake to renewed glow.

Life's struggles shape realities defining peace;
must strive to overcome each dire adversity.
Combating, pushing to adjust- new joys increase
to help forget- accept new-found diversity.

Life struggles create stormy days that come and pass;
with hopeful perseverance- brighter ones amass.

Premium MemberThe Proposal

Our jubilation doth transpire ten-fold
Accepted passion from my lover’s breath
Tantalizing the heart, with love untold
Benevolent guidance pending our death

Elation encompassed within one’s heart
Magical light shine down from up above
What God has joined let no one tear apart
Combating man’s loneliness, lasting love

Gregarious in time, I reach for you
Conscripted parallel by legends hand
Endowed with such beauty my heart, stay true
Spectacular joy with a golden band

My heart is now yours for all of my life
Please accept this ring and become my wife

Subsidence

The memory of yesterday is
clanging,
Competing against the sweet
and bitter tastes of the present.
While sailing against the giant waves of life.
I persistently and firmly hang on,
allowing not myself to miss the
paddle's handle to avoid being
fallen and drowned together with
the rolling billows into the
waiting abyss and nothingness.
Once, the outrigger of the
sagging boat was torn apart by
this life's strong storm. But my
conviction to continue
combating the raging tomorrow
and the choice to endure the
nearing death of the past bring
fire to my heart to live another
day.

When the storm subsides, I shall
peacefully tread on the right
path toward Your lap.

Premium MemberLilitu's Lament

Tussel for power trained her tongue to sharpen
Tact resistant throat bellowed careless scorn
Potential friends' impressions began to darken

Sharpness of wasabi, harsh memories injected
Frontal lobe numbed, chased non existant dawn
Self image slashed, frayed fragments protected

Overpowering was triumph, in her odd summation
Trampling perspective romance, before it was born
Aggression shrugged on, hard armor of domination

Swooping on prey with strident screech, hook talons
Flashing vengeance at every turn, a bandied sword
Combating stance slices hearts in half, no challenge

Her hurtful words were weapons, feelings' neglect
Evil clenched a crusted clump, grew gross, ignored
Repugnant bulge, cancerous cruel crept unchecked

Charm which lured folks religiously, flung them ruthless
Ice in vicious veins fed malicious mouth, a habit abhorred
Path obscured by pain unresolved, killed kind maneuvers

Virus From the Corona

Definition:
Corona ' the rarefied gaseous envelope of the sun or other stars'
Dose that mean this virus is space born or maybe from mars?

The media will inform you to Heed the warnings and feel that fear
'That we should Close the boarders
"let's not have it here" .
don't touch that ‘
and avoid that place the latest reports confirm it’s from space .

Just a cough at the beginning this heralds its start
'but watch the hell out
‘for this virus is smart .

I heard on the radio that hospitals can no longer cope
'this thing from the stars has robbed our hope ,
thousands have fallen and some have even died
from this astral weapon that's now been applied .

So What's the government’s line to combating this plague ?
It’s to Forget this poem
‘As it’s misleading and vague .

Jungle Book

lyrical animal it’s clearly tangible cannibal for poachers of animals
 radicals
discarding anything valuable to humans saving sheep from wolves waking up sleeping bulls
wolf cry’s full moon howling
I’m prowling on foot growling plans at thousands scouting riches capital
casuals mentally dead readings from my accountants notes
votes to reach breach the slanderers of souls
the polls shows the masters factors in codes
we got scanners at post
for those counterattacking combating the fold
Sold another adapter to a soul in the matrix in the back of the skull
I’m a Cheetah moving fast this cat is bold
like magnets zombies attracted to phones
cell phone towers power plants explode
a pets life in a zoo Tarzan playing jumanji let the jungle loose
they eggs in one basket Good friends with Mother goose
fear is loosh
whoosh the fowls of the air swoop down eating flesh of you
