In the quiet still
in the sable night

dreamy dotted with
punctuates of light

I recall
my youthful days:

no balcony too steep
nor high – those I could
not climb, then~ simply I
would fly

Wanted: old Juliet, with
sympathetic elevator --

TOP SECRET – BURN BEFORE READING

TOP SECRET – commit contents to memory and then destroy yourself

TOP SECRET – if my wife finds out I’m in big trouble

TOP SECRET – and it will stay that way until I find my glasses

TOP SECRET – let’s take it for a ride and “Vette” it

And the ever popular

TOP SECRET…..that just went right over his head….

When Worlds Collide

11/17/19
"

Don't drink and drive
Going to strive
Thrive
And survive

As I arrive
On time

Don't matter if we do or don't jive
There are always those that connive
And deprive
Trying to cause your dive

Off of it, they get a rise
Spreading lies
Attempting to bribe
Out to bring about your demise
It's no surprise
What you are doing is far from wise
Putting all B.S aside
You'll see what happens, when worlds collide

You are or aren't a part of the hive
Or tribe

Stocking up on supplies
Occasionally reading the classifieds

What was once dark, now shines
With a focused mind
I'm feeling fine and revitalized
Got my eyes opened wide on the prize
Ready to climb
And embrace the grind
In order to help me and mine

Looked up to a stormy sky
Saw a sign
When the planets aligned
I knew my time was nigh

Eventually I'll have died
Knowing I tried
To help life, each and every kind

Hopeless

Hopeless
By Samuel K Byrd

A hot meal, a cold bed, and hopes
that tomorrow will be a better day
unemployed house foreclosed and the repo-man
arrived bright and early yesterday
tax cuts, tax incentives, stimulus package
all a little too late
get in line; get a plate, two hours later
you've forgotten what you just ate
classifieds job fairs Internet but nothing
seems to help
only good thing is that there is no wife or kids
I only have to provide for myself
just stay focused work the system
don't let it work you
keep your head high and your prayers higher
and soon you will make it through

Premium MemberGod's Guiding Hand

I lost my job and times were tough.
Lived day to day on just enough
of everything to keep me well.
How long it'd last only time would tell.

Instead of worrying, I saw the light;
Put my faith in God to ease my plight.
All God's creatures don't give a care,
yet He feeds the birds, the squirrel and hare.

Just as my money was going to run out,
I applied for a job I knew nothing about.
The Salvation Army hired me
to help men find sobriety.

No more rewarding could a job be
but something arose I didn't foresee.
Driving great distance and paying the price
became too much of a sacrifice.

We prayed for an answer from God above
for something closer if push comes to shove.
On Sunday morning, as the church sang a hymn,
I picked up the classifieds just on a whim.

I found my next job right down the street,
a camp for kids at a Jewish retreat.
So, God plays a role in all that we do;
He opens the door but you'll have to walk through.

Victoria

I'll make my apologies and ill make them for two
If i could paint you a picture the colour would be blue
I looked into the mirror and all i could see
Was a bitter old twisted version of me
Put the children to bed and send out for Tea
I am calling an end to our Love , it is Dead
Take the phone off the hook and throw the sheets from the bed
Wash them on spin and bleach out her scent
Call all the classifieds I've a room up for rent
I have loathed you and loved you in equal amounts
but for all your faults on this you can count
On reflection my dear it was always my fault
Forgive me my action's ,my malice , my spite
May you smile at another and give them your Love
For you were sent from God above
Goodbye God bless my lover my friend
I'm sorry i ruined our fairy tale End

Cardboard Inflation

A paper road and car of clay,
A garden made from pencil shaves;
With fields of crayon flowers drawn,
Beyond the shoebox house and lawn;
Old wax paper forms the boat,
That sails under a cardboard moat;
A fence made out of new toothpicks,
Erasers used as driveway brick.
A crafty home in taped décor,
Now sat atop my basement floor;
A dynasty of paper trails,
Completed with a sign, “For Sale”,
Was printed in the Classifieds,
To see who’d purchase such a buy;
One hundred callers did implore --
The only place they could afford.

See Ya Later, Moe!

The Intentions were false bearings.
Accusations were meant to harm my position--
No Care! For I am destined for greatness! No longer am I stuck in a state opposition--
The tensity which connected. Best Bet! Stay away from stress!
No more poor healt in trying to keep the Money Machine Rollin'....
Because I'm Free!
One must see my freedom...seldom words in my soul lingers for press...
                        Jackson Free Press!
Yes! I love poetry, art & music... Tune in to the expression of delicate minds...
Take the time to figure out...As I glance through the classifieds---
trying to find success in what I do best--
Oh well-- I'll just continue to write--- EXPRESS THE MIND-through my words, which float...
glide on to the new movement...
         Sounds of the piano begin...
                                   I'm taking in,
                                             the soul...
