Cheap Little Thrills

Those little negative things we say, that prick another’s heart,
can’t we see, that’s how a fight will start.
 Why do we say things that hurts, instead of heals,
why are we so drawn, to it’s cheap little thrills.
 Why is it so hard for us, to build one another you see,
and to destroy someone, comes so easy, for you and me.
 The darkness of this world, will turn a heart to stone,
the evils of this world, sitting on its throne.
  As worker’s of darkness, the destruction of the hearts,
those negative things we say, thats how the darkness starts.
 It will soon take over, and thats just how we’ll be,
one, great big ball, of negativity.

Premium Member Silence

Talk is expensive, silence is cheap
Silence is shade, talk is light
Silence is cocktail you silently sip
Drifting away through the night
The car door slams shut, bags carried out
Nobody’s waiting inside
Thunder breaks down striking too loud
Nobody asks how’s your ride
Vapes on the table and TV controls
Flowers and meds there too
An iPad with messages of the missed calls
Suddenly flickers with blue
Evening emerges with pouring rain
Glistening streams patch the air
Darkening sky offers silence to gain
Cheaply, just out of nowhere.

Premium Member VIEW FROM A CHEAP MOTEL

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
peach pit spat on cracked asphalt~
abandoned payphone hums,
one dime short of salvation.
We Buy Cheap
I looked into the mirror
and realised we pull the strings
Rich men dance to our demands
We must buy cheap
Cheap products full our shopping carts
We create the demand
Like puppets on a string
We pull the strings as rich men dance
Employment leaves our city's
As rich men learn
The people want cheap
The rich men learn
They can supply cheap
Move your factory
Into another county
Pay low wages and you can sell cheap
Little Johnny has no job
Because the elite
Follow the path we create
DIRTY DEEDS DONE DIRTY CHEAP
Tranquil sands of a fallen land,
Held no place within an empty hand.
Tyrannical birds, with bombs in flight,
Riddling the air, on souls alight.
"We, the prey of this haughty reign,"
Offering no space for the cooking flame—
Hungry bones that crave for justice,
Blind, the vultures—drowned in malice.
Cheap Legacy
Vast lands on both sides of the desolate road. The journey was through the foggy cold of moonlit night. The biker and I were running alone to the enlightened canvas. No end of the celestial cosmic rhythm of heart just listened from the whispering winter wind. Sufi sounds of the drum embraced every rib of the soul. Moon, night, and loneliness abated the desire for mundane concession. No favor of coming back from the mystical fair could arrest us. Even so, we have returned to the world's acting stage.
To enjoy cash soul
Human by born world's actor
Leave the divine peace
Premium Member Cheap Theatre
The confirmation hearings are lowbrow theatre.
Wolf packs of C actors and bitter stone-throwers.
Getting off by degrading, disgracing, and humiliating.
Transparency and truth are a pale afterthought.
Do let your children watch the theatre, though....
Explain that this is how not to treat another human being.
Then take them to a playground.
Leave your cell phone behind.
Let them teach you the art of playing all over again.
Premium Member In an age of cheap poets and marketplace philosophers
In an age of cheap poets and marketplace philosophers,
When words intertwine beautifully but lack depth,
My contemporaries have already given me the greatest reward,
Their indifference, their silence, heavy like a spider’s web.
In a world where applause is the echo of an illusion,
Rise those who believe themselves original,
For they have an audience that claps but does not understand,
And they do not know that true poets live only posthumously.
I wish to be a shadow in the book of time,
To write my words on dead leaves, carried by the wind,
Melancholy as my ink, and my heart as the paper,
To tell my stories in a stream of thoughts.
For what does it mean to be alive, if not to be forgotten?
To leave only a sad echo and a lost smile,
In a world of those who have eyes but do not see,
In a mechanical universe, where souls are mere cogs.
But perhaps one day, when silence will sing,
My words will bloom in the light of dusk,
And they will tell the story of those who were,
Those who wrote silence, while the world screamed.
Premium Member Cheap, on Our Dime
Every year when taxes are due, I pay mine to the full,
Even though some other people call it a bunch of bull.
Some don't pay their taxes for there is an aberration.
As time goes by they holler, "Statute of  Limitation".
They live in a life of luxury, these entitled few,
Expecting us to pay their way, since that is what we do.
The Statute of Limitation gives them a lucky break.
Never feeling that they owe, they just take, and take, and take.
And though the law may state, 'This tax is no longer in play',
An honest person loves this Land, and pays it anyway.
  (And this applies to Everyone)
Cheap Valentine
He took an old miser's advice
and bought her a card at half price -
it looked  old and worn,
the envelope torn,
and the picture was nibbled by mice.
Premium Member Real Happiness
Happiness
Is yes expensive
And priceless
Like deep holes
With unequal depth
And odd sizes
Happiness
Ain’t about money
Good health first
And everything else
Happiness
Is how one feels, lives
Dreams and breathes
Happiness
Ain’t about accounts
And assets
Money ain’t
Of course everything
Happiness
Is about good health
To enjoy
Wet and sunny days
Hot, wintry
And stormy seasons
Happiness
Ain’t about power
And strange greed
Happiness
Is not very cheap
Yet low price.
