Porky Pig

Fearing the loss of his hair, Porky Pig
went out and purchased a wig.
Now he's parading thinking he's handsome
securing his do cleverly with gum.

Drive with Caution

signs and warnings out and about
reminders for caution and safety on the roads
we know sunday drivers are a menace
apparently red squirrels drive slowly
while the black ones drive too fast
chipmunks on their bicycle hog the road
and it's not smart to tailgate skunks
it's always wise to mind your manners
so stay alert and be considerate
share the road ~

Unsuspecting Suspects

It's kind to offer a shoulder
to a person in need 
but make sure 
they don't turn on you
and suck the lifeforce out of you

Beware of vampires roaming
in sheep's clothing

The leaf
The leaf painted on my bag
The stoplight says, "Proceed with caution."

Handle with Care

it broke and shattered
one piece at a time
it fell apart
had come unglued
little by little
over time

in the end
there was no fixing
it was beyond repair
barely held together
it was just for show

i just got up one day
and somehow
was determined
to get on with life
trying to mend the pieces
as well as could be expected

Hie thee now by warning taught
The path ahead be peril fraught
Each breath taken carried past
Each step taken counted last
To strive against such dangers rife
Tis better chance the falling knife
For what portends from grand emprise
By hazards wroth may be surmised
That loot awaits at ventures end
For those whom Deaths hand doth forfend
But take thee heed and be

Look again, beware

Look again, my dear
things are not as they appear
while words deceive
they slither and they weave
your eyes can also lie
lead you astray with just a sigh

Look deep beyond the surface, dear
and trust not everything you hear

I was five, crossed the road
to climb a massive oak tree
and fell flat on my back
amazing I managed to get up again

in comparison 
kids today are kept on a leash
and rightly so
