And you took a piece of me with you,
And I want it back.
I gave you my heart,
But you broke it,
You took a sledgehammer to it,
And left me to pick it up piece by piece.
If you really loved me,
You would’ve accepted me,
If you cared enough,
You’d still smile at

If Only Someone Cared

If only someone cared about the struggles I face,
And not just the mistakes I have made and tried to erase,
They have judged me with their words and eyes,
And they have consumed my mind with their lies.
My dreams have been shattered and by those who should care,
Now I am left to wonder if things will always

I Wish You Cared

I wish you cared about how much I love you.
I love you with every bone in my body,
With every breath in my lungs,
Every thought in my mind,
And beat of my heart.

God gave me this ability to love.
The ability to love you fully,
To love you gently,
Unconditionally.

I Never Cared

It was going smoothly back then until the storm swept in

		People left my side, I was wondering why nobody checked in;

		Things changed right before my eyes, it’s like a curse was let in 

		
		Praying to to sky with my head on my pillow, trying to hear why;

		It was a long time before things starting making

For my blood family

Always be there for me 
Then you stabbed 
me in the back.
Like I was nothing to you 
Watching me bleed
While you 
Laughed in my face 
Thinking you won.

The dilapidated chapel tolled its dirge.
Inside an old woman lay in a coffin.

No mourners came to pay their respects.
So easily forgotten by those
Who needed her most in days of old,
All relatives who should know better.
Now they had no money to inherit.
So they had long dismissed her from her needs.
Except for one who was her carer

The Things They Never Cared About

Through the years of watching our children and grandchildren grow…they never left a doubt…as to those things that were important to them…and those things they never cared about.

They never cared if we were old or bald…or short or tall or fat.
They never cared about our physical flaws…(Boy, were we glad of that!)

Her hands were forever moving, occupied with work
Leaving trails of memories across my heart
Whispering hope to my spirit

Lighting the way for serenity
To color my thoughts in hues of lavender lace
Tracing out edges of truths
Surrounding me with inspiration
And beauty that comes from knowing
God is truly good!
