The Lunar Vein and Sunken Emeralds

The cragged moon, a curdled, midnight bloom,
Where veins of frost, dissect a shadowed room.
A galaxy of mold, on lunar stone,
A whispered legend, soft and darkly known.
It weeps a brine, a sharp, celestial tear,
A pungent phantom, banishing all fear.
Then, amber relics, in a glassy tomb,
Where time's slow fingers, weave a spiced perfume.
Each wrinkled emerald, a sunken,

The Captivated Captor

I watch as you lay—
not bound by chains,
but by something I cannot name.
Your silence fills the room,
a rhythm I can’t ignore,

and I find myself
waiting for you to speak
in the quiet moments
where I’m no longer certain
who holds the key.

Captivated

Excuse me,
Will you give me just a moment?
You're someone in whom I confide,
so I close my eyes and
express these thoughts I have inside.

I know these words serve no excuse.
It's the way you've induced
my heart with your love.

You portray with every mannerism
emotional understanding.
Your glow resembles a prism.

You have this voice of a harpoon
that drew me in

My Heart was Captivated

Whenever I hear your name,
My heart starts to pound
I don't know if it's lame,
But in my eyes, thousands of emotions can be found.

At first, I don't know if it's love
Having that feeling makes my heart throb.
Your voice is a music in my ears
Repeatedly playing while forgetting my fears

I had this feeling, I kept for years

Stick People Dancing In the Rain

If I close my eyes I can see them quite plain,
those stick people dancing in the rain..
They twirl and they lift with movements so stiff,
never seeming to bend.
There's others around but their deaf to the sound,
captivated by the heat of their feet.
Just like puppet pundits, repetitious, redundant,
they dance on to their own silent beat..

Captivated

The call
sent shivers up my spine
and raised the hairs upon my neck ~
frozen, pondered on what the heck
its owner liked to dine.

A twig
shouted its betrayal,
bending, snapping under pressure,
made my terror that much fresher,
awaiting my assail.

Shadows
passing across the moon
identified her in the night,
a fearful, magnificent sight;
I near gave way to swoon.

Feelings soar, flying high
Whispering hope to the breathless light
Where music flows through the veins
Inside those who believe
It is love that brings us through
The shadows that silhouette
Dreams and faith, all the prayers
We pray from hearts who know
This love will captivate the heart and soul
Bless the giver as well as the one
Who receives the gift of His

Captivated

CAPTIVATED 

    On lazy noon at non-busy hours
      Me feeling dizzy
       to watch chandelier hanging in central hall
        sometime slightly swinging 
          by soft wind

CAPTIVATED

This is odd. Well, more than odd
Something that is sort of weird
As if a strange thing appeared
And into my memory, seared
Then jabbed with a cattle prod

If it is abnormal, I’m not bored
Holding me tight in its embrace
Attentive, like it’s on my case
Keeping me firmly in my place
A Gordian knot needs a sword

Others may not feel

To Be Captivated

Sometimes, it's cloud formations.
At other times, a line of Fall trees.
Less often, a rising sun, but
Frequently, it's a setting sun.

Sometimes, it's simply being awe-struck by green grass;
Or being mesmerized by the beaming yellow of a cactus blossom;
Or realizing that hospitality is defined by two words that
follow a request for directions: "Follow me".

Sometimes, it's the thought

Captivated By Poetry

I am seduced by words and enchanted with melody,
I become absorbed and engrossed as if I were under a spell.
Parchment and ink place me into a trance as I ravish writing.
Delightful and beautiful as I calculate and calibrate words,
Longing and wondering if they will attract other thoughts.

When finished, 
I submit and then it appears right

Inspired and Captivated By the Living Word

The word of God is my inspiration
holding it close deep in my heart
this is the very word of Almighty God
challenges but encourages in no small part

God has revealed Himself to mankind
through His holy scriptures, He has done
there we shall find who God truly is
shown in the person of Jesus, God's son

Captivated By Winter

Moonlight snowfall captivates
Winter wishes swirl before my eyes 
Breathlessly beautiful, exhilarates
Night to remember to poetize
Verse writes itself with my soft sighs.

Captivated By the Music

I loved my job as a librarian, and today I was walking to work,
In the warmth of a summer morning, when golden butterflies lurk.

I had some extra time, and it happens I took the scenic route,
Through the neighborhood park, in a bloom and greenery pursuit.
