Inspired and Captivated By the Living Word
The word of God is my inspiration
holding it close deep in my heart
this is the very word of Almighty God
challenges but encourages in no small part
God has revealed Himself to mankind
through His holy scriptures, He has done
there we shall find who God truly is
shown in the person of Jesus, God's son
This Jesus lived over 2000 years ago
but now He lives by His spirit divine
this living word captivates me totally
showing how this saviour is indeed mine
The effectiveness of holy scripture
is so hard to explain to another
for it affects you from deep within
captivating all your being like no other
Please Lord captivate my heart
to cling relentlessly to your word
fill me with your scriptures blessed
in my heart and mind forever stirred
