Stick People Dancing In the Rain

If I close my eyes I can see them quite plain,
those stick people dancing in the rain..
They twirl and they lift with movements so stiff,
never seeming to bend.
There's others around but their deaf to the sound,
captivated by the heat of their feet.
Just like puppet pundits, repetitious, redundant,
they dance on to their own silent beat..

Hi Nancy! This is a wonderful metaphoric write. What a great image of stiff, "stick people" in a storm of rain where the raindrops never reach into them. They are numb and impervious to the consequences of the storm that rages around them! I really enjoyed your depth perception! Blessings to you!

Hi karen, I started to write this a few days ago when we still didn't have a speaker of the house. Originally it had more of a political theme but things change and the soup crashed also. Thanks for commenting and have a blessed day dear.
