The Captivated Captor

I watch as you lay— not bound by chains, but by something I cannot name. Your silence fills the room, a rhythm I can’t ignore, and I find myself waiting for you to speak in the quiet moments where I’m no longer certain who holds the key.

Laura, this poem provokes much thought. I think you are onto something important. The doubt you create here suggests we all might do well to observe and wait when we are in intimate settings. Even a short question might help. You give me a lot to ponder and it will likely make me a better person. OMG, this is why I do get such a kick out of reading your work and that of others. There is so much insight to gain. It also (for reasons I don't completely understand) reinforces a sense of euphoria. I suppose it relates to the pleasure associated with communication of ideas. It's a thrill and a half! Smiles!

I've been listening to your eyes for what feels like eons, noticing how the rain cries unto your purposeful lips, excited as well by the sounds of your beautiful breaths in sunlight...J.A.B.

Justin.. your presence is so evident here.. either in the silence, or with your mesmerizing words that always arrest me — hope you’re well. <3

We know who holds the key that has released thee from captivity, sadly almost all in this world still goes against this Spirit of the Living God, it's a daily fight within, the best we can do is die daily to worldly views and traditions that we might be purified into the likeness of Christ, much love and prayers for you and family always <3
