The children of Cain

The purpose of life is

to discover
the purpose of life

We are the children of Cain

cursed-wanderers all
building towers sky-ward

desperate to be reunited
with our ground-of-being

the echoes of
our hearts' call

never returning

Premium Member Adam and Eve and the raising of Cain

Have you ever thought about the raising of Cain?
Where did that boy get a rage so completely insane
that he ended up murdering his younger brother?

Did he learn it from his father and mother,
who must've been in such deep, psychological pain
for having caused Eden to go down the drain.

Cain

Cain killed Abel:
                    not because Abel is good
                    not because he's jealous
not because he hate his brother
not because he's more talented than him
not because Abel more muscular than him
not because abel is favourite by his parents
not because abel is more handsome than him
Cain killed Abel:
Because he can't take the favour of the Lord from him.

As a film icon, may he ever reign.
Age 90, rich and retired is he.
He’s had a grand life. Don’t you agree?

Bird Flew

When Eve was searching for a rib
The Devil led her to a crib
Where Cain and Able
Hatched a stork fable
Creating the very first fib

The Mark of Cain

Death twisted history,
guilts conferee
the liar unmasked
revenge by decree

His legions unfurling,
their flag through the smoke
the volunteers hailing,
preserving all hope

With dark days upon them,
no fear to be found
the women, the children,
in place underground

Around every corner,
behind every door
their liberty sacred,
today—evermore

The Mark of Cain

Designated driver,
your road to end at last

The choice was yours, mistake inured,
your future now your past

Designated driver,
those high beams in your eyes

A haunting name, the lasting blame
—that night your dreams reprise

The Great Cain

I had a yellow dog named the great Cain
We loved to walk down our pretty lane
His best friend was a cat named Chow Mein
Who rode on his head like an air plane
All the neighbors thought this was insane
And it gave poor Cain a huge migraine
Yet he would always do it again and again
He thought he was the king of Spain
And went out to run in the local campaign
Then won all the votes in his domain
Now everyone is celebrating his big brain

written for my step-grandson Matthew who just started grade 1
and who likes to make poetry...

cold-hearted punch
    came on suddenly. . .
blank expression of
sideways troll
passes by.
    passed out microphone
        with a body nearby.
  inexcusable
soul —
       soulless satisfaction. . .
second death sold
  to the wandering whorl.

The Fall

On the anniversary Adam coaxed Eve,
complaining, distracted, to the clearing
for the invented ritual.
He had been uneasy since,
repeating actions in certain ways as if,
had he got things just so,
THAT might be taken back.

She too had organized a routine
around planting, milking, nursing--
also the same. Yet she was satisfied.
But now there was this extra thing,
and Adam killing the new lamb
to which Cain, now crying,
had been so attached.

The kindle sparked uncertainly
as he blew gently through cupped hands.
The fire gradually caught
and he lifted the lamb onto the grate.
Together they then stood
staring into the rising smoke,
Adam squinting for a shape, a sign,
the image of himself.

Sons of Cain

This World belong to GOD
You didn't create anything here
God is the creator
He rules this World
Tell Satan that God owns this World
Sons of Satan

Holy Abel could have killed,
if he'd had a sword.
Holy Abel could have killed,
if he'd loved the Lord.
Holy Abel never thought
to craft a shining blade
intended for his Brother's death.
Instead, was rams he gave.

Only Cain dreamed so dark
to win God's love through force.
Proving that he loved God best,
he killed without remorse.

And when God came
upon the scene
where Abel lay in blood,
and saw his eyes
as soft as lambs
that gazed at crimson suds,
He must have known at once was Cain
that came with fire and sword
to steal the love God freely gave
but sin could not afford.

And even then, God cradled Cain
for the sake of the world to come,
and told him that he loved him best
until his life was done.

Premium Member There Are No Sons of Eden

There are no sons of Eden
only descendants of The Fruit.
They do their best with what they can
as Able still lies blue.
Long cast out of Paradise
they till the worldly soil
and blame the Lord for all their pains
and all their sinful toil.
Some give thanks for what they've sewn,
conceited, humble-proud,
thinking they're the chosen ones
as Hell still overcrowds.
The Lord made do with what Cain left.
(beggars can't be choosers).
With sword held high they judge by The Fruit
that made each one a loser.
