october brushed by

in the midst of an october sunrise
bearing splashes of colors beyond description
like a thick acrylic paint mixture
 crimson with cadmium yellow
thrown…scattered like seed…by the hand of god
morning unfolds like a delicate rose

 light crawls like aching fingers
touching soft lips that moisten the sands,
retreating, sliding like two bodies too close
to be parted, moving slowly, one advancing-
retreating, wave at a time.

 the water returns—
 –to the water
 the sand to the sand
and yet the light to darkness

i’m sinking beneath the surface of my soul
void of color, gray on gray on gray
as a jacket of black smothers me
 suffocating me
 gripping my heart
until i see evil being squeezed out

jealousy is green, greed is yellow
hatred is black and deceit is red
 until at last
god has taken the ugliness of my heart
 squeezed my evil
and fashioned a brand new color
 for tomorrow’s rainbow

 all get one
 just one
 and you will remember yours

Premium MemberBrushed by the Moonlight

Moonlight brushes in softer Angelic glows
the face of lovers hidden in the night
where welcoming eyes of warm ardor flows
embracing beneath the moon's tranquil flight
with whispered breath and words Dreams cherish
hushed tones harmonize with each touch caressed
emotions are rendered drawn from a wish
in moonlit shadows when love is confessed
fervent breathlessness will turn enchantment
enraptures the soul while rising to bloom
as an elixir with a perfume scent
to nourish passion our love will consume
grateful for glows in the shadows of night
lovers are bathed in halos of moonlight

Premium MemberI Brushed Buddy Today

I brushed my dog Buddy in the driveway today.
It looks like someone discarded a feathered mattress
He has as much fluffy stiff fur as any sheep I have met
the robins will be fighting over it for their nests
which is why I did it there instead of in the house

Cerulean above

Fan brushed with fossil, ash, silver and cloud

Zephyr's northwesterly cold

Hemlock seeds and broom sage tassels fly

Premium MemberBrushed Hearts

almost touched.
hearts that brushed
in passing.

lasted looks
with drops of rain
amassing.

memories enhanced
twigs of despair
grown to passion branched

cab, puddle, heel, ankle

eyelashes lost
in looks that were tossed

his way.
this day,

started differently.

heartbeats separated
by oceans of city ships

all yellow

lost, in seas
of soulful pain,

but two brushed hearts
in passing, kissed

in the mid-town
summer rain

Premium MemberDeath's Brushed Aside

Death's specter stalks us all our days
Yet near the end it's brushed aside
By angels singing, haloed praise...
Death's specter stalks us all our days
We're lifted up by light's pure rays
Triumphant wings to heaven glide...
Death's specter stalks us all our days
Yet near the end it's brushed aside

Burnished and Brushed Hints of Spring

spring is murmuring

whispering with...tiny little breaths...
burnished and brushed hints
of hope...irresistible
...optimism

subtle ...cagey
peaking
around the edges of things
elfin wisps...
playing hide n seek...
"catch me if you can"...but only with the corner of your eye!

stealthy little darts
popped from mystical brown bows
blue and white and a softest ever green

greys too so they blend with snow and sidewalk
they sleep upon the mossy hills beneath mushroom trees
and I begin to dream

Your Wings Brushed My Face

I felt your wings brush across my face
When you took me into your loving embrace
I sensed your compassion when you touched my hand
My pain and sadness you truly did understand

I saw the light of hope in your eyes
Because with me you did empathize
Your voice was music to my ears
It relieved all my doubts and fears

I found contentment and peace in your smile
I knew I wasn't alone to walk this rough mile
My heart was healed by your laughter
I felt I would receive the solace I was after

In you I've witnessed genuine love
A prayer answered by God above
The moment your wings brushed my face
All my concerns and worries were erased

Premium MemberYour Winds Brushed My Soul

You moved over me; tempestuous wind stirring my senses.
And I, once the nonchalant sea, lost all flow of normalcy
We were two impetuous forms of nature
who could never live in perfect harmony.

You blew across my tranquil waters
spilling such treasures upon my shore.
Then your breath was stilled...
I felt the force of your presence no more.

No moon had ever governed my tides
the way your winds brushed my soul.
I'd never been so swept away,
never had I given full control.

My waters ebbed in the wrong direction
and there was no peace upon my waves.
Is this what happens to ill-fated lovers
when their hearts bleed in watery graves?

Premium MemberI Brushed the Moons

I've painted a world lighted by two moons
colors carefully blended from my artist's brush
blues to soothe the mournful cries of loons
soft rose from the cheeks love caused to blush

To please a new love is my canvas creation
no brush strokes can I use to bring him near
but when he arrives our love will be sated
as two hearts united within an artful sphere

Nearest moon on my left, I close my eyes
into my canvas realm I bid, send him to me
distant moon on my right, before night dies
guide him safely over your deep cobalt sea

Lunar globes hear me, and you, rough waters,
calm your waves so his journey be made swift
I brushed you to life. I am one of your daughters
rulers of the tides, offer me love's greatest gift.

Man of desirous features I beg you to choose
free spirited as I but no mere apparition
a man who will thrive among my canvas hues
and believes in love with complete conviction

There is no man a match found for me on Earth
faith in the magnitude of your pull and power
will give rise to need of my love and its rebirth
I wait in your glow to bloom as his flower

The Air Brushed Truth

Remarkbly convincing, its an act of if you can,
if you can see threw the air brushing marks of imperfections
You can start to notice a common marking almost like a reflection
showing only when the attention is brought
not saw by untrained eyes the truth is much, deeper than that
the air brushing that's just the speakers the amplifier is behind,
see look closely focus on what's behind all this commotion
The Air brushing is just a distraction far from the truth really.

Brushed, a Rustic Refrain

Dim the light of her motel room; quite, as recovery lingers on ¿
Another pain killer, washed back by some power drink with claws..
This cup and butterscotch pudding to numb the flavour in his cigarette
While waltzing once more through a two inch box; communique this play ?
Pirouetting about her cyber space stage; sheltered from the sunlight; a signat
Time these past few days, left confiding in as conversing with life's hollow walls...
Cast amid some pyramid production it seems of late; crafted a stairway to her stars.

Brushed a Season Her Love

We spread these wings in dreams which fly....
Beyound the ambient hieroglyphic sky; our heritage
This coign of vantage; etched her silken starry
Night an ancient cavern carnelian hues ? Ancestral
Meek as the mink and caribou; banal their mischief-makers
Carved a stone this image one million years her matriarch..
Barbaric schemes times kings; confronted by she, mono y mono
Exposed love's fiery minx iconic; ironic while the tables turn ?
Pelion, hand writing with scenic wings; empowered by Genial, we deem.

Brushed, By Love's Reasons

Sorting through a life of countless sin; breath beholding its shadows poured....

Pain, falling from regretful eyes as drops in blood; splashed upon those through gray

Ashes darkness touched; by these hands that have wiped their tears inside

This heart a million times while I, have bowed with my own soul unto the floor?!

O wretched man he said; whom shall deliver me from such guilt and shame ~

Spiritual struggles of flesh to face; and we were made sombers brittle that, reasons

May have their day as truth its way within; clay, by the light of the potters kiln....

BRUSHED STROKES
       ~ ~ ~ ~

sunrise reflects liquid eyes on aqua streams
bathing wayfarers dipped in crystal nooks,
as grains of ivory sand sift human dreams
a corinthian-like scene taken from sacred books

splashing brushed strokes with coral strain
this river stencils a tranquil roam,
blessed oath of a sweet virtue remains
curling soft surf, she becomes home.
