My pride is bruised
My heart’s been used
My mind’s abused
I’m so confused

Your love had ridges
You burned our bridges
Ignored my wishes
Threw me like dishes

I once felt whole
you torched my soul
If heart break’s the goal
you played a good role

I sink into sadness
I echo the madness
Facedown in my mattress
Like a Hollywood actress

Romantic malpractice 
Your love’s like a cactus
I’m pricked

The world I know 
I’m ready to let go 
Implement toward change 
Grow, I’m not the same 
A new path 
Rest in emerald soft grass 
Slow to anger 
No worries toward tomorrow 
Over bridges 
Gravity pulls 
Down to earth 
Be alert 
Choices ajar 
Beyond the stars 
Be your own man 
Journey through many

Floating

Minor signs of anxiety
Sunk in the glass of lemon water
In the panic of the present time
Life flows in a calm stream
Along the damp walls of low storey buildings
My boat floats to nowhere
Under the arches of old bridges
Voices distorted by echoes ring out
What they say, what they are silent about
Is unimportant for I can't hear
I float

Bridges Lead Us Somewhere 
A new chapter in your life 
A milestone symbolizes 
Bridges unite 
With no fight 
Brings people together 
Overgreen pastors 
Live in the country 
Work in the city 
Arches to mountainous slopes 
Through canyons, A beautiful view 
Where does your bridge lead you? 
Somewhere new 
New roads 
Where the water flows

Eternal Bridges

Burning bridges
That tired metaphor
Often still seems so apt
But you missed one important point
When you tried to light that fire
The fact is that we
Like any modern bridge
Were never made of wood

You tried to ignite
Concrete and steel
Under an ocean gasoline
Threw the match
Watched the flames
And walked away
Thinking you had done
A necessary evil
For us both to survive

But as the

Distance, even for a short while, still is
Whether it’s a river or a stream, you still need a bridge
But bridges burn
And even when they don’t
They weather
They rot
They fall apart so slowly
You don’t notice until the floorboards have collapsed beneath you
And you’re left with nothing
Just the remnants of the bond you thought would last forever
Clutched to

Ashes of Despair

In the shadows of a fading room,  
Lies a heart, a fragile thread in gloom.  
Time, the thief, steals moments away,  
Leaving whispers of love in decay.

Bridges once burned now smolder and twist,  
Ropes set ablaze, memories we missed.  
The laughter of children, like ghosts in the night,

There is a river to cross we all think impossible,
The water is deep, it seems so improbable.
We sit and wait for help to come,
But being alone begins to dawn.
How? we cry, our fear and pain already drawn.
God gives a breath for us to take,
And in that space a plan we make.

Do we as writers create emotional bridges

As writers, are we all but seducers of the minds of others

We silently kiss in friendship 

As they read one of our poetic gifts?
