my dog could put my leg into his mouth if he wanted to
hid mouth takes on an alligator's opening when he yawns
he is the biggest-headed-dog we have ever had
and we have had twenty-two dogs
his neck is Herculean
he is strong enough to pull a sleigh of Republicans up a mountain
and he is a baby
only fifteen months old
From one singularity came the exploding spark,
Not yet stars, not yet light, only potential.
A field unseen, stretched taut as thought,
Holding energy like a clenched fist of time.
Expansion surged, a storm without wind,
Not matter racing, but space itself unfurled.
Faster than light, yet no law was broken—
Relativity bowed, not shattered, in awe.
Negative pressure, a repulsion profound,
Bent the equations toward infinity’s edge.
In the womb of the cosmos, space time grew,
Doubling, redoubling, in a heartbeat’s breath.
Quantum tremors, minute as dust,
Were stretched across horizons vast.
Seeds of galaxies, of suns and worlds,
Carried within fluctuations’ song.
What mystery drives the inflaton’s dream?
What hand steadied the potential’s curve?
In equations I see its fleeting ghost,
A pressure that sings of repulsive fire.
And when it ended, it left a gift:
Heat, light, matter, the chance to begin.
The hot Big Bang was its second act,
The stage prepared by a silent overture.
I wonder still if beauty was its aim,
Or only chance in quantum disguise.
Yet in its breath, the universe awoke.
He was on the path, walking toward me at dusk
at first, I thought it was a man, but my senses began twitching
danger, danger, danger, danger, whispered my internal save machines
It was a sasquatch, and he smelled horrible.
I was too close to him to hide, so I slid off the path
Letting him have the whole path, expecting the worst.
He had not slowed down, his stride was amazingly long.
I watched him get closer and closer.
Would he eat me? Bite my arms? Wring my neck?
He grunted something and kept going.
It sounded a lot like good day.
Before the fire of time was lit, there was no “before”—
No clock, no tick, no arrow.
Space had not stretched its first trembling thread,
And matter was still a secret.
A silence so complete it was not silence.
A void so pure it was not absence.
Something flickered in the nothing,
A law, a whisper, a possibility.
Gravity curled upon itself,
Quantum foam stirred like breath in sleep.
Energy dreamed it might take form,
And the dream became a spark.
From that spark came time.
From time came stars,
From stars came us, asking why.
What was before the beginning?
The question itself dissolves into light.
Big ol’ Big Mac
I’m tired of being tired.
I’m exhausted with exhaustion.
I wish I had the money to retire,
But that is not up for discussion.
I can’t sink my teeth into a big ol’ big mac.
The motivation I lack to go and fetch that.
I’m not too skint and I’m not a skin flint,
I just don’t have the energy of an energy drink.
I’m thinking of food when I know I can’t eat.
I’d love to meet the best version of me,
But he does not exist,
He is lost to the past.
Damn that life was hard,
But we sure did have some laughs.

I had big plans today
so far, I have accomplished none of them.
I hope to do a better job tomorrow.
Going on a six-hour trip interstate to interstate.
driving from Kansas City to Iowa City to see my twin sister.
The ultimate goal is to celebrate our 73rd birthday together.
I am resting up today, readying myself for this horrific car ride.

bass are jumpin'
and the cypress grow high
no your daddy ain't rich
but your ma's not bad-lookin'
so fish a little bayou
won't you try
some of these evenings
they're gonna rise up flyin'
and they'll spread their wings
as pelicans take to the sky
but 'til next mornin'
there ain't no one can charm you
like Acadians or Cajun standin' by

BIG TEX*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There once was a cowboy named Big Tex.
was huge like Tyrannosaurus Rex!
His hat large like Texas barn,
he strutted ‘round town with charm
But his love life was a complete wreck.
Big Tex hung out at Texas’ State Fair,
Wore humongous boots and jeans with flair.
with deep voice, wink, and a grin,
He says, “Y’all come on in!”
Look! 'Tex' has buckshot in his derrière!
With lasso in hand, he aims to impress,
missed every steer, what a terrible mess!
He'd shout, "Yippee-ki-yay!"
in a most clumsy way,
And the longhorn would just laugh, no less!
With a chuckle, he dusts off his hat,
“Guess I’ll stick to the dance and the chat!”
So he twirls 'round the barn,
With a laugh and Texas yarn,
The best cowboy—now how 'bout that?
Go Tex! Go!
Share our big happies,
You are best of chappies,
Having spirited love,
Blesses our daily dove....
Laughing fun smiles,
Your charm still beguiles,
Trade future today,
In our favourite way....
Yes, happy dance,
Always our romance,
Blissful love haze,
Happy good old days!
Roses may be red
And violets blue
But one thing for sure
Is my life is sad without you
You will never get to see me grow
As your time came and you had to go
So here is a promise to you my big brother
I promise to always protect our mother
I will comfort her when she’s feels sad
I hope that makes you feel glad
I will make him smile as he is our dad
And I will try my best not to be bad
But my brother remember one thing
You will always be missed
Until the next time
You can be kissed
big baboon is big stupid baboon loves to be in tail of others
nobody pay him to follow yet he so stupid and so coward
something big and black flew overhead
we both looked up, the dog and I
wings unlike a butterfly
it flew back up into the sky
a wasp? a wisp? a tiny bat?
I’ll never know, but it was thin
a black dragon fly, a dragon cat?
something with a touch of red.
Every time I see your face
My heart leaps in my chest
And when perchance you wink at me?
Here's what happens next...
It's something like an atom bomb
A stick of TNT
All at once, explosions
Go off inside of me
No one's ever done this,
Had this effect before
Can you conceive what it'd be like
If we both had the more?
Unpublished without saying
Just you and I would know
That like a fuse that's verrrry longggg
The burn would be reeeal slooow
